Just tried these out today. I was very surprised how much I liked these. Simple but comfortable and they look really good on court. Love the sale price under 100 as well!
Love vapor pro 2. Just got my second pair. Very comfortable.. no matter what you spend of play alot your not going to get more than one season oit of them. I had got the rafa ones cant rember the name of them but i like the vapor pro 2 more
Great review, again ! My no nonsense shoe is actually the Wilson Rush Pro 4.0. Just feels so natural to wear. Might have to try the Vapor Pro 2's if they're similar, though...
Thank you! Pretty funny that your no nonsense shoe is the Rush Pro. There's a running joke at the store about how much I love the Rush Pro; incredibly underrated shoe. The way it hugs the foot is really top-notch.
@@RacketsRunnersVancouver I know, right ??? Tried them out on a whim, and never looked back. Apparently, their shoes are now made by Salomon, or atleast in the same factory...? No way to check if that's true (guy in the store in France told me), but that would explain the top notch fit
@@krautfox9818 The Salomon thing is 100% why they are so good. It's no coincidence that shoe was so mediocre until Salomon took over. After all, how hard is making a tennis shoe when you spend your R&D trying to make good ski boots.
Hey, I tried out this shoe and I usually slide in my matches (previously used asics gel resolution 9 which allowed me to slide into and out of my shots pretty easily), but I can't quite figure it out with this shoe, despite other people's ratings saying that this is the shoe to slide in. When I try to slide my momentum causes a sudden stop in my leg and my foot gets jammed in the front of the shoe, What do you reccommend I do? I really like the original vapor pro, but the vapor pro 2 gives me a hard time to slide in. Do you think I need more time to break it down?
I found the vapor pro 2 to slide best when it’s fresh so it won’t get better over time. It’s definitely not as good as the original vapor pro for sliding, so you may want to go back to the resolution line.
If that was your main problem with the previous Vapor, I think you will like this one much more. That forefoot Zoom unit feels very nice underfoot without being too plush.
Hi loved the video. Could you please explain what's with the extra shoelace hole on just one side. Original vapor pro had them on each side. Cant figure out how to use it and without the extra tighting it doesnt feel like the foot is locked
Glad you liked it! I'm a bit disappointed that there is only one extra shoelace hole, but with the way the upper is designed to come up over the lace it isn't possible to add a second hole (at least I don't think so). I'm fortunate to feel locked in with just the one extra, but if you still don't feel enough lockdown you may need to look at another shoe, which is too bad because if you're a slider you'll really appreciate that more durable medial lace hole.
If you want to feel a really snappy outsole and a super comfortable upper, go for the 11. If you want a bit more lockdown and support, I think the Pro is better.
Is this good for wide feet? I am currently wearing NB FuelCell 996 v4 8.5, 2E. I feel this is tad bit large, my exact foot length is 7.5 and width between 2E to 4E. I would like to try comfortable light weight tennis shoes at size 8 and 4E. I feel super comfortable with my NB 996 V4, but I don't get that glove like feeling. I keep adjusting and tightening the lace now and then.
@@RacketsRunnersVancouver ended up buying the asics gel resolution 9 all/hard court. Heard the ankle lockdown isnt as good on the nikes. Hope that was the right choice!
Do you have any recommendations for your favorite tennis shoe on the market currently? I just need suggestions, I’m a baseline player that likes to slide for slices, I like to run and come up to net occasionally, so I would need reactiveness too. Any suggestions?
There are some really solid options right now but one shoe that I love is the KSwiss Ultrashot 3. One of the best shoes I've tried in years. We've got a review up if you want to check it out.

Glad you liked them! Agree that they're a great looking shoe, something I pretend isn't important but always seem to value more than I should...
Really like them. Feels like a huge upgrade from the vapor pro (for me at least)

Hi Luca! Great to see another video. thanks for the informative review.
the Zoom Vapor 9 Tour was my favorite shoe...wish they would bring that design back

Reviews on this channel are excellent and really useful
Getting these today thanks to this review :) just wondering if you'd be able to use this for weight training?

I wasn't a fan of the previous vapors, the cushioning in the forefoot is so low to the ground, lacks cushioning
If that was your main problem with the previous Vapor, I think you will like this one much more. That forefoot Zoom unit feels very nice underfoot without being too plush.
Can it be used for indoor basketball? like wood flooring
Yes, they are non-marking so that won't be an issue and in terms of playability they would be great.

Is it really true to size? Or do you recommend going down half a size for a perfect fit?
I use my normal size with it.
For what type of player are the vapor 11 and vapor pro 2 better? I don’t know which one to buy. Which is more comfortable or has more support
If you want to feel a really snappy outsole and a super comfortable upper, go for the 11. If you want a bit more lockdown and support, I think the Pro is better.
Would you recommend sizing up? Asking because they are too narrow
No, I thought about it but they break in nicely and the length would be too much then.

It's not going to be the best for very wide feet (specifically 4E).
@@RacketsRunnersVancouver Yup, Nike vapor pro 2 is not comfortable around width. Returning them back. NB Fuelcell 996 V5 was comfortable though.
Looking to buy these to play padel tennis. Do you recommend?
Yes! They would be great!
@@RacketsRunnersVancouver ended up buying the asics gel resolution 9 all/hard court. Heard the ankle lockdown isnt as good on the nikes. Hope that was the right choice!
I tried these. Too plush for my taste. I’m stocking up on the first gen vapors
Fair point, those were noticeably more firm underfoot although I have to say I don't love soft shoes but never had any issues with these.
I’ve done that too
I found those shoes to be to narrow and painful to play with after 30 min. I got hot spots on the inside and outside front edges of my foot.
Give them a bit more break in, the upper is soft so they should expand with time.
Could you play pickleball in these? TIA
Absolutely! They are the shoes I use for pickleball.
Did they stop selling the normal vapor pros?
Yes, the original pro is no longer being produced. This is the Vapor Pro 2 (although admittedly very different from the original).
@@RacketsRunnersVancouver do you know any shoes similar to the original vapor pros?
The Vapor 9.5 is being re-released, which will be the most similar.
Can these be used for running
I wouldn't recommend them for running. They're too flat and quite firm so will cause issues over time.
if i buy womens is it same with mens? ill buy 11.5 womens im 10 mens
Yes, sometimes the women's shoes can be narrower but with these, I don't believe they are.
Is it good for squash ?
It should work fine, yes!

Loads still playing in the 1
Yes, and those guys are some of the best players on tour 😅
