Homemade Nerf Rifle

Lots of people told me that the first version of my Nerf cannon was not war practical so I decided to make it more war practical.

have you thought about the fact that your air reservoir has a smaller volume than your barrel? When the air expands into the barrel as the nerf dart travels down it, the pressure drops as its the same amount of air in a bigger space. bigger pipe for the reservoir will up the power output far more than a longer barrel. In fact a longer barrel will lower your power output.

To find out the optimal barrel length grab a very long piece of the barrel, shoot the dart, find where it stopped and cut half of the distance of where it stopped

You will get more velocity if you use a joerg sprave slingshot valve. Because how fast the dart can go is partially limited by how fast the valve can open. You also need a higher volume of air in your resivoir so you have a constant pressure all the way down the barrel.

I would definitely reccomend a heat gun over a blowtorch. A heat gun is kind of like a way hotter version of a hair dryer, whereas a blowtorch is...fire.

Try using a brass barrel and breach, and using half darts. Coll video, btw

I know but it's not easy to buy brass in my country. The hardware stores simpy don't sell it here.
