      I just found this, and, being a total idiot, am having trouble visualizing everything. I've resorted to just pausing the video or replaying it and taking notes. At this rate, it's just easier to make a snap carbine since the video tutorials are incredibly in depth.

    The only thing I would change is the video needs a quick demo at the start to show total newbies, who are part of your target audience, what this blaster is capable of.
    No one wants to click on another video so they have a reason to watch the one they have already clicked on.

    I wonder what pressure the bottle will stand? Also, whatever solenoid valve you use must have a high rate of open and shut otherwise there would be a lot of wasted air. Good short range power, would definitely knock a pesky pigeon off its perch!

    Beautifully simple with (from the sound and visuals alone) great performance. Currently working on my own Fallout inspired "pipe rifle" sears carbine, though I'm running into a little trouble with measurements and the catching mechanism. Could you use the plans for and substitute the ESTL's catch here? Great job as always Aeromech, keep up the amazing work.

    Great looking design and it even seems to be doable in my town, cause pvc can be bought in inches. (We're in metric)
    But I have some questions:
    -what type of pvc pipe is usable for this?
    -can you subtitute bushing for an pvc adapter?
    -The begining of the tutorial says to glue in the 1×1/2" bushing into some pipe. Is that the body tube(5/4" pipe)
    -What changes do I need to do if I want to use a different spring? (e.g. shorter or smaller diameter spring)

      It's a homemade... you can add a wye, inline, or RSCB hopper to it if you want, or a breech, or leave it muzzle-loaded single shot.
      Also, being a homemade with a K25, it's going to be hitting a minimum of 170-200FPS - so easily double & a half the power of a stock Elite blaster. Projectiles are whatever you want, literally - you could fire half-length Elite darts, make your own Stefans, rockets, Mega darts...

    Why does the plunger have such large chunks taken out of it? Wouldn't you just need to cut a slot for the catch to grab on to? Or is it an air flow thing?

    • @archangel2014
      @archangel2014  3 роки тому

      It's a physics thing. F=ma. Your spring determines your force, so that's a fixed value. So in order to improve plunger acceleration (and ultimately increase the speed of the darts) you need to reduce plunger mass.

      It can be but almost always is not. The barrel is removed and a dart is stuffed into the rear, then the barrel is reattached ( to allow the dart to accelerate down the full length of the barrel) or a hopper storing multiple darts runs in parallel to the barrel allowing many shots before reloading. That the pipe sticking out diagonally right before the barrel in most homemade blasters, if you google around for images.

    • @archangel2014
      @archangel2014  7 років тому

      That is definitely a problem I had when I first put this thing together. AT 16:04 I mention fixing it, essentially, the sear should slide away from the catch face, not push it back. adjust the angle to be closer to perpendicular to a ray drawn out from the axis of catch rotation. Then match it on the catch surface. I've found the sear lock to be pretty bombproof in terms of durability once you get it going, and far easier to work on than a rainbow catch for newcomers.
