I think what the guide meant about the pipe being smaller than the dart is so you can jam it in the pipe to create a vacuum seal so that there is more air directly being applied to the dart itself and not around it. idk, it could be because you didn't make the grip too :P

I believe that "smaller than the nerf dart" means just a hair smaller so that it'll make an airtight seal around the dart. This would cause the little spray thing to force air into the pipe making the dart fire out from the barrel due to the pressure behind it.

Its was most likely asking for a pipe that's smaller than the dart but big enough you can force it in there. That way, im assuming, when you squeeze the trigger it adds more pressure till it final forces it out.

Handles are you used to reduce recoil on automatic blasters or high powered blasters the handle doesn’t look good with it in and isn’t useful at all especially with it being like a jolt
I think the missing steps may be to slice the paper tube along the length of tube. You’d then fit the dart in there as a means to resize the paper tube to the needed tighter width. You’d now have a narrower tube to shoot the dart out of, allowing the needed air compression to rocket that nerf dart out. ;)

Too annoyed to reply to every single comment talking about "how the sprayer creates air pressure and shoots dart out". Basically, the hole you put your sprayer in is not airtight and air would escape through that. Even if you used tape to close it, you need the trigger to move.

I think you could maybe put compressed air into the container, and screw it onto the pump, and then it mightn’t work.either that or u need to make the barrel connect to the pump/trigger

I think they say it should be smaller than the dart so the dart goes over it. Has anybody seen the stomp rockets? It works just like that. You could also think of the Nerf Demolisher Missile. You put it over the tube and push air through it. It’s just a much smaller version of that.

I figured out why the pvc had to be smaller than the nerf dart. The article meant that the pvc should be able to fit into the hole of the nerf dart and then when you pull the trigger there would be enough pressure for it to shoot.
The pvc should be smaller so the dart fits in tightly and it can build up air pressure to launch the dart. It didn't work because it couldn't build up pressure to fire the dart since the hole in the front was not completely blocked by the dart allowing air to escape.
I think they meant that the PVC tube should have a slightly smaller diameter so that the dart fits snuggly into the tube (creating pressure for the dart to be forced out at speed). Even doing that tho, the spray bottle wouldn't be putting nearly enough air into the pipe, you would need to do multiple pumps (assuming it even works).
This entire thing would be way more easy to follow if the cardboard tube was a pvc and the pvc was a straw because that's what I think they're going for
perhaps it could be modified to work if you deleted the cardboard tube entirely, then seal the pvc to the spray nozzle using duct tape or hot glue. also the pvc should probably have a tighter fit than the one you used. great vid!
i think its supposed to be a pressure gun and you block the back to propel the dart. not sure though. EDIT: even still, that sprayer isnt going to preform better than even a jolt.

I think the idea that the PVC should be smaller is so you stick the Nerf Dart at the end of the PVC and then the squeeze handle pushes the dart off the Pipe. You aren't going to get a dart going particularly far with that though.

The person who made the guide obviously doesn't know physics. There must be air pressure for this to work. How to make a real one. first, get a straw that fits in the hole on the bottom of the nerf dart. Next, get popsicle sticks and cut one into 1 centimeter pieces. Then, get a paper towel roll Then you need to get the popsicle sticks hot glued on the end of the paper towel roll. (going inward to the hole) Next, place the straw through the popsicle stick pieces. (it should've created a hole) Next, glue the straw Yay now you know how to do it!

Our you could get a piece of paper, roll it up to nerf dart diameter, secure it with tape and BAM you got a blow gun that works ok.

It is easy to make an blowpipe for Nerf darts. 1. Take a paper 2. Roll it , that nerf dart fits in 3. Put tape that it doesnt break

your supposed to put the tube in the hole in the dart so when you pump the trigger the air will build up and pop out
The pvc pipe goes in the hole in the nerf dart then you should connect the pvc pipe to the trigger so when you pull the trigger it shoots
