I think what the guide meant about the pipe being smaller than the dart is so you can jam it in the pipe to create a vacuum seal so that there is more air directly being applied to the dart itself and not around it. idk, it could be because you didn't make the grip too :P

I think I figured it out! The dart needs to fit snuggle into the end of the barrel so when you pull the trigger, pressure builds in the barrel behind the dart. I actually want to see this work now.
I believe that "smaller than the nerf dart" means just a hair smaller so that it'll make an airtight seal around the dart. This would cause the little spray thing to force air into the pipe making the dart fire out from the barrel due to the pressure behind it.

The pvc should be smaller so the dart fits in tightly and it can build up air pressure to launch the dart. It didn't work because it couldn't build up pressure to fire the dart since the hole in the front was not completely blocked by the dart allowing air to escape.
I think the missing steps may be to slice the paper tube along the length of tube. You’d then fit the dart in there as a means to resize the paper tube to the needed tighter width. You’d now have a narrower tube to shoot the dart out of, allowing the needed air compression to rocket that nerf dart out. ;)
You have to make the tube smaller so the nerf dart can slide on so a straw would work and then the air would go push the Nerf dart just like a nerf gun like jolt

Even doing that tho, the spray bottle wouldn't be putting nearly enough air into the pipe, you would need to do multiple pumps (assuming it even works).

How to make a real one. first, get a straw that fits in the hole on the bottom of the nerf dart. Next, get popsicle sticks and cut one into 1 centimeter pieces. Then, get a paper towel roll Then you need to get the popsicle sticks hot glued on the end of the paper towel roll. (going inward to the hole) Next, place the straw through the popsicle stick pieces. (it should've created a hole) Next, glue the straw Yay now you know how to do it!

Submerge it in water, load it up with as many darts as possible, then fling the darts towards your opponent in a throwing motion. Bam Easy It takes about 0 seconds to make and is better than a stock maverick.

Handles are you used to reduce recoil on automatic blasters or high powered blasters the handle doesn’t look good with it in and isn’t useful at all especially with it being like a jolt
perhaps it could be modified to work if you deleted the cardboard tube entirely, then seal the pvc to the spray nozzle using duct tape or hot glue. also the pvc should probably have a tighter fit than the one you used. great vid!
You did it all wrong! Look at the pictures too! I don't understand the tape a nerf dart part but you put the PVC pipe as a grip, it wasn't meant to go in the tube, you squeeze the nerf dart into the bottom of the PVC, that is your spare dart to pull out and that's why the PVC has to be smaller.

Small story: i was at a toy store looking at stuff and i went to the nerf aisle, and saw a stryfe(note: they dont sell them in that toy store anymore) and i reported it to an employee, and they said it was broken, so they told me i could just have it. So when i got home i tested to see how it was broken, but to my suprise nothing was wrong with it and i just got a free nerf gun.
