Hawksey, what's your opinion on optimal video length? Personally I'm happy to watch 40im vids fromy fav guys but I think I'm in the minority. Do you try keep it 15ish mins?
I definitely try to keep them on the shorter side unless I have a good story that can keep people engaged
Epic vid my friend. Mind blowing yellow belly to end it off.🤯
Keep it up.
Thanks mate, the yella was a massive surprise
💪🤙
Dam, I used something similar and never got a touch on the cod but then used the same up on the Ord at Ivanhoe crossing and caught a 78cm barra. Only issue was the hanging treble routinely got snagged on the copious amount of line caught up there as its so heavily fished but with a local 4m crocs there was no way I was going close to the water to do anything to retrieve the plastic. Stupid bastards up there walk across the crossing to cast into the down stream holes mid crossing. Spoke to one fool doing this after landing an 85cm barra and he reckoned that local croc knew him and wouldn't attack him? Last day I was there, went down to the crossing with some mates and a local farm boy we'd met earlier in the week stopped us and pointed out the croc sitting on the bottom just upstream of the crossing waiting for old mate to show up and walk into the fast flowing thigh high water that's always flowing across it. Go figure? Noice fishing tho bud.
Thanks mate, I'm really liking the plastics on the cod this season. Locals attitude to crocs always amazes me, I'm so nervous anytime I'm somewhere that has them
Hey mate, noob fishing question.. but those glow balls, are they standard across all hooks, meaning you could put them on a range of different size hooks and it’ll be just as snug? Meaning you’d only have to buy the right size diameter so whatever you’re holding there doesn’t slip over it? If that makes sense lol 10:50
I think it varies a little bit with the gauge of the hook. I just dug around at home until I found something that fit the hooks I used nicely
@@HawkesyFishing ok awesome, I’m looking at starting to do some swimbait rigging etc myself as it’s so much cheaper, I don’t have a motackle or bcf or any fishing shop around town that sells the stuff I need, so I gotta go online, going to have to take a punt with getting my hook sizes etc right 😆 see how I go! Thanks for the reply 🤓👍🏼
for the 7" castaics I'm using I found the 7/0 barrambahs to be pretty good and they've got an eyelet underneath if ypu want to rig the treble off it
Which river are you kayaking on ? Seems fast and shallow for Cod..
Wont be sharing the river for this one but cod regularly like in water like this. They aren't the big lazy fish they are traditionally shown to be
2:56 nice footage
Thanks mate, was pretty cool to see it come out and chase it
Some nice fish
Thanks mate
HI, can I ask what jigheads you use for soft plastics with trout? Most of the ones in shops have really huge hooks on them.
I'm a fan of the gamakatsu and decoy round jigheads. Size 1 or 2 hook in 1/16oz usually but sometimes 1/12oz
Mantap
Good stretch that, been getting a few yellas there lately. Nice work mate! 👏👏
Thanks mate, been a few yellas popping up this season. Hadn't got any there before
💞💞💞
What specs is that edge rod your using mate, love your videos keepem coming.
Its a black widow bcr705 10-17lb 1/4-3/4oz is what its rated but it can cast way higher than 3/4oz. Around 2oz seems to be the comfortable limit
Where you fishing?
