Agree for sure... Hilda i feel is the most unique, Buttersynth is a rabbit hole waiting to happen anytime i open it definitely closest to to Arturia Pigments for iOS and Thump One was a very pleasant surprise in my book when I picked it up... Stringlab and Pianoteq are the two I currently dont have access too...
Great video Doug. There's been many this year, it can't have been easy to narrow it down to 10, even with us patrons involved. My picks were all recent ones because I also couldn't recall what released early in the year. You are not alone with that. StringLab probably wins overall for me but KOD and Buttersynth are close by.
Nice to see Hilda, KOD, and the string synth made the list. There’s so many virtual analog plugins, those are pretty unique. I liked Dagger and Butter too…the pluck sounds of the string one are great!
hi, just a question, what is your ios setup that we see? it looks like you have an overarching program (the one behind the synth window) that you use to switch between apps? how does that work exactly? pardon. my noob question
He's using a DAW called Cubasis 3 in this video to demo the synths. It's an audio/midi sequencer that can host effects and sound generators, among other things. It's akin to Logic Pro, GarageBand, etc.
Buttersynth honestly is the one synth I owned that gave me almost immediate buyer’s remorse. Besides the general glitchiness, it just wasn’t much fun to use
@@Fear2StopI feel like it has a ton of potential, not super intuitive but when you tweak everything just right, it sound really good before it crashes.

Mariana, literally save me money from buying the Minotaur. I’ve never had a bass vst to cut through the mix so well.
Hilda is also awesome as an effect! And the playable ‘touch pads’ make it cool for performance

I liked the sounds I was able to get out of Buttersynth but it was just too unreliable, crashing and so forth.

put chapter marks in your videos
