What's your favorite Far Cry game and why?
Downward Thrust first!
Downward Thrust Far Cry 4 because it was the first one I played haha
Downward Thrust far cry 5 is the best because of a huge open world better campaign and storyline is deeper
Idk why i enjoyed primal so much, maybe cuz i like the bow and arrow stuff too much.
3, reasons
You forgot to mention How Far Cry 3 had by far the best theme of them all. Seriously crawling through the jungle as some kind of crazed jungle Warrior and killing Pirates was just the best.
Not only that but it was the only game I've ever 100% completed. I got all the collectibles. And it's just because exploring the world felt so good.
Far Cry 3 just felt and continued to feel so smooth. The gameplay was buttery smooth, stealth was valued upon and combat was really fun and enjoyable. The game was difficult when it needed to be and had an awesome story.
Also blood dragon’s theme was fantastic
One of the best game settings ever. Really hope they go back some day. To islands, not THAT island.
No.
Farcry4 was better.
The beautiful landscape and environment of india and mountains is awesome.
Better then 3
the tropical "vacationish" setting, the fact that you play a tourist who has to save his friends (something people can identify with), the story and characters (especially vaas), the mysterious oppressive music and atmosphere, all this is what made this game so great for a lot of peole in the first place because it is what sticks to the player even after many years.
yeah im sure everyone could identify with jason and his friends, i thought they were very relatable and sympathetic
Mr. Greaves totally agree my hugest complaint with far cry 4 was the setting I never felt immersed in it or excited to explore it nothing about it drew me in but man Far cry 3’s sandbox just felt so good to be in and explore and do whatever ridiculous stuff that was available. Far cry 5 was fun in my opinion I had a great time with that game but I definitely still think my favorite is 3
Well said
5:00 Jason says "I've never shot *anyone* before." Not that he's never fired a gun. He's rich, American and an adrenaline junkie. Of course he knows how guns work.
Plus Grant was in the military so he could have taken him to gun ranges, Grant even said to him "you're a natural with a gun"
I got Far Cry 5 when it came out, beautiful game. But I got bored after 15-20 hours and haven't played it since. Far Cry 3 on the other hand, I couldn't put down. And that was on the stone age machine called 360...
Joel Wallin copy pasted experience here m8
It wasn't the best it was just good for it's time TBH
Yeah for over 60 hours of time and replays
Joel Wallin even me :D
I resetted the Island Like 20 times and played through it like 8. And the pirates' dialogues were the best. "my dick burns when I piss. Should have used a rubber" hahahaha
i loved far cry 5
No question here, fc3 is one of the best games of all time.
Is the best*
it was actually my favorite game of the whole PS3/X360 generation of consoles.
@@domymbd same.
Still my favourite game to date.
Just finished playing it, great game but I'm seriously disappointed about the lackluster ending (side quests were, sorry to say, Fable III tier as well)
Agreed 100%
It’s because of the burning the weed fields to skrillex part for me.
Why is Far Cry 3 the best in the series? Because it's the only memorable one. It had the villain, it had the boobs, and it had the memes. Far Cry 4 and 5 just copypasted what 3 had, except now every character is insane instead of just Vaas.
Marc Shanahan far cry 2 was pretty good as well and more memorable to me though
SmashingSnow Most people praise the tech behind far cry 2... and that is pretty much it.
Cutter Elf True people do but I praise the gameplay as well
Yes i agree
SmashingSnow Far Cry 2 is the most realistic also
I love Jason Brody. I get the criticisms of him being a complete newb but still being able to take down whole platoons, but therein lies the dichotomy of what the game's story is hammering into the player, through his actions and the way characters talk about him: Jason is a rookie but he has a *ridiculous natural talent* for murder (as if the tribe was 100% correct in thinking that he's their mythical warrior of destiny), and Jason is shocked by how easily he finds himself getting used to it. He finds he's pretty comfortable taking lives, and he's disturbed by how good he is at killing and how much he's come to enjoy it by the end of the game (at least in the "don't kill your friends" ending). The game calls into question the difference between living out your fantasies as a unstoppable action hero and being a bloodthirsty mass murderer.
Being a rookie and being a badass; those two sides of his personality might not click with everyone, sure, but I'd argue that they don't necessarily conflict with one another either, with the use of proper writing and story, as the game at least shows awareness of those aspects and tries to weave it into Jason's journey as a character. He simply doesn't have the wisdom or lack of morals to properly emotionally handle just how talented he is at murder, and how much fun he finds it to be. Your mileage obviously varies on how well the writing accomplished that goal, but I personally adored it for a main character.
The jungle forged him into a warrior
Awesome take. It also reflects on the player too, as most of us who play it are more than likely not some expert warrior either but are so good at killing people in the game. It's absurd but for some reason i really like how the protagonists of far cry are put in this juxtaposition of being a rookie and having a natural talent to kill so easily.
To be honest, he looks like a wussy in the beginning but time to time he learn well from his experience. 👍
Having just played through the game again, i think that is the correct take on Jason Brody. It's exemplified by one of the ending sequences when you're fleeing the camp with Riley. He's having a meltdown as bullets are flying, things are exploding, and hes trying to fly a helicopter for the first time ("You have your pilot's license don't you" "FOR PLANES!"). As Riley complains and panics, Jason's like, "Yeah! Isn't it awesome?!" As well as the short ending monologue. It's kind of hamfisted, but seeing as the story was kind of grinding along after Vaas, i was surprised they address it at all. They could have ignored it and let the fans handwave it away but it's there.
Vaas: Exists
Me: *immediate click*
nice try sjw!
BRING VAAS BACK, PLEASE UBISOFT
morges don't worry he will be featured in the new far cry 3 DLC. Far Cry Resurrection
@Dimitri Kovač my friend. Are you ok. I was being sarcastic two years back cant you see that 🤣
Bruh vaas is dead
Wish granted.
They did
Far cry 5 was great but the ending of it killed the story
something to say!!! It had potential
I agree
It had tons of potential also it was way to easy ,i even tried 1 of my playthroughs without companions ,enemy tags an aim assist off and none of the health upgrades ....still not challenging in any way. Needed an expert difficulty without the regenerating health and each resistance meter like doubled lol
I loved the ending. Every game has the you saved the world ending. I love the nothing you did matters ending.
In my opinion Farcry 5 sucks
The whole Jason superhuman thing is because of the tatua
Yeah jason probably trained all of the skills before he got the tataus
Absolutely agree in every way.
Voss is still one of my favs
shut up geek
@@tarmacsmack1301 bruh
Yeah, V O S S
Far cry 2 had a community map editor which kept me playing it long after I was finished with the main story line. There were almost endless amounts of creative maps made by players which kept it feeling fresh for quite a while.
well Far cry 3 had some of the best Spin off DLC ever: Far cry: Blood dragon.
Blood dragon is the only good part of fc3
isuck_atgames how?
Vaas is probably my favorite video game villain, I actually get excited when his cutscenes came on lol
I really agree, far cry 3 was my first fat cry game and I had a lot of fun with it, I was upset vaas died too early but I still liked the game.
I tried to get into far cry 4 but I couldn’t get myself excited. I’m not even sure if I made it half way through far cry 4. Major bummer
Same as me, it never get my attention.
Farcry series are the best games I played 3 and 4 gives an eerie nostalgic feel to me
*cough cough* red dead redemption 2 is meh *cough cough*
I feel far cry 5s silent protagonist hurt the game a lot, most of the interactions with the villains in that game fell flat because of it.
Just started farcry 5 and that’s the first thing I noticed. Such a shame, no personality
EVERYTHING THAT HAPPENED AFTER THE WEED MISSION IS MERELY A HALLUCINATION AFTER BREATHING IN 10 BILLION POUNDS OF WEED
lol.. that flame thrower looks good.
This is my all time favorite game.
The storytelling
The gameplay (I was blown away by it, a first person open world game, how is that even possible :O )
The takedowns and freedom were just the best.
Far cry 3 is definitely a 10/10 game, just perfect in every way.
Sound, its not
Story its not 7/10 gameplay doesn't compare to 5 and vaas was so overrated
I might give it an 8/10
Definitely 10/10. Masterpiece.
@@whiterunguard3215 what? Vaas is literally the best villain in far cry and is one of the best villains in video game history plus 5 might be good, it’s ending was horrible it pissed me off
Far Cry 2 will always be the best for me
-Simple
-True Survival
-Dunia Engine at it's finest
-Jackal is a good Villain
-Buddy System
I have to agree. The details, nature, soundtrack was reason why it is favourite game. I was younger and I didnt cared about respawn of checkpoints and all negative sides of game. It was full of inovations (weapon mechanics, fire etc...) I got used how game worked and when I finished it, I had to start over.
My friends only knew Counter strike, Wow and GTA (OMG why...) and I already knew strategy games and Crysis of course :-D
Today we have better graphic of course. And Far cry 3 had great characters, story on the tropical island, but I dont need crazy characters in all games to play it.
Great example is Wolfenstein. I never played oldest, but I played ReturnTCW and when I saw New order, I just saied, But they dont need to put all crazy stuff here. Ok, you need to have some baseline and put all atractions continuously. In 2013/2014 I started to played Rpg genre and First shooting games only played a little.
Worst far cry ever. Very empty open world, way too realistic, horrible story with no aim at all. All these negative effects outweigh the small positive ones.
Yes, you try to compare it with new opern world games. It was difficult to build oper world in 2008, only rpg did worked that way. But for FPS it suits more to make it linear (my opinion)
Yeah, I think it's rough around the edges, but the immersion in that game was really something else. Something that is lacking in the newer Far Cry titles.
Connor Kenway
It was a big sucess to creat a open worlf like that back in 2008,it was complimented by the critics for that, watch videos about Far Cry 2
1. Tropical enviroment. its the best enviroment for a survival game like far cry. Beautiful terrain, weather, and bright colors and best animals.
2. Most innovative. Biggest leap in graphics and features. Far cry 3 is the modern warfare 2 of the franchise.
3. The pirates are the best far cry enemies ever. Theyre funny and goofy as hell and, memorable.
4. The introduction. Escaping gun toting pirates at the beginning was great.
5. komodo dragons.
6. Best villians...more than ONE villian too.
7. Komodo dragons.
8. Better premise. Friends getting seperated and lost is a lot more fun and better story.
9. Komodo dragons.
10. Komodo dragons.
EDIT, HONOURABLE MENTION: 11. Burning Marijuana Field. The music was perfect and the mission was phenomenal. Shooting it out with pirates while intoxicated with rastafari music playing was dope. Far cry 4(being the inferior copy and paste that it is) tried to imitate this mission and failed horribly by over doing the drug effects and taking it too far. I dont even remember what that dumbass mission was about.
mysterious films it felt so good that im gonna buy the classic edition on ps4.
The story with the characters of this game was so well pieced together. The motives behind what you were doing made sense and the villain Vaas was the best villain ive ever come across in a video game thus far, putting him up there with heath ledger's Joker. You grew attached to the protagonist, the story gave him a responsibility and gave the player and character a solid purpose in the game, it was clever playing on primitive emotions like revenge and family, and the shocking cutscenes were unforgettable which grew attachment to the characters! It was so good, I wish i could erase my memory and play it again!
simple: Vaas
6:47 dat corpse launch tho 👌👌👌 😂
"It just works"
here with the obligatory Jojo reference i see
Stop
YOU ARE EVERYWHERE
part 5 can't come soon enough
GlidersGames not jojo
Never thought a gaming video could get me this emotional. Damn i miss it😭
- Far Cry 3, IMO the best Far Cry game and best DLCs.
- Far Cry Primal ... Gorgeous but Pretty boring, I still need to give this one a chance.
- Far Cry 5 had potential in its first hour but it was lost with its very shallow "accessible" gameplay. Story was meh.
- Far Cry 4 was a sleeker copied pasta version of its predecessor but it just didn't hold up in story and plot.
- Far Cry 2 was just too repetitive and bland after two hours into the game. It's quests, Voice acting and AI were pretty bad as well. it had great animations though.
- Far Cry 1 ... I liked it when it was released but now it's showing it's age and it's just bad.
Just my two cents.
they combat ai in far cry 2 is great, its just the stealth aspect that is broken
You know what, I think you are right! Stealth was also real bad in FC1.
7 inches soft FC2 was designed by the same man behind Splinter Cell, the stealth isn't broken, it just isn't the same thing as what every modern game has
you are barking too much
Fc primal is not boring its one of the best in the series!
Farcry 3 made me feel some typa way. That game will always have a place in my heart
I’ve never seen the scene at 8:53 where’s that from?? Can someone send me the link that scene, I guess I missed something in the game
Farcry3 dream sequence Maybe when Killing Vaas
I’m liking the more positive videos, keep it up
one what part of the map is that when you say: better then a navy seal ? i used to play alot oof far cry 3 and i dont think i recognize that spot
woke up sometime last week thinking about this game, i played it on 360 and downloaded it to my new pc and its amazing on ultra settings, not to mention the gameplay...
Far Cry 3 and 4 are my favorites. Loved the hell outta them (Favorite Missions from both are Kick the Horents Nest and Advanced Chemisty. Mostly due to the music).
Thanks you
About half way through FC4 - First I've played in the franchise - really enjoying it, so good to hear there's a better one (potentially)!
Bro, I'm still playing FarCry 3 and we're already in 2020. Proves how good this games is ! ❤
Nah it sucks
The game is so nostalgic
Same here.
I have a laptop with no GPU and was looking for games to play. Haven't played this since its release. I'm so glad I thought of playing it again! and im getting 40+ fps which is AWESOME!!!
*Because of the Villain and Story*
Gabriel Polo shame he wasn't the main villain
And the island is so beautiful
Not gonna lie the story is kinda shit and the character
But the villan is good
Some of my achievements won't pop up like the free fall or the finding all the collectibles
6:45 what happen ti the pirate you killed he started flying
Old downward thrust : Why Farcry... is the worst in the series

shubhankar kaushik Sorry were your feelings hurt? If so please proceed to use youtubes reporting system to report or block users if none of the above, go home. My apologies for possibly upsetting you, go play destiny or something kid.
lmao
Callum is one of those losers who complains to youtubers. If he didnt like it he should have just stopped watching.
Was he not completely correct? Do you not notice the shift in thinking relative to lower views and trying to cater to what little audience is left? If you didn't like his comments couldn't you have also decided to move along? What does this make you and I? I'm here to comment, that's what this whole section is for...I hope you start to understand your hypocrisy but I expect to just be called a loser for being antithetical to your dogmatic way of thinking.
Blood dragon, 4 and Primal were my faves.
Your opinions are incorrect. 4 is embarrassing next to 3, primal is great idea poorly executed
@@banjobanjington2344 Opinion.
i enjoy all the far cry game even the wii version
Ghost_tea there was a wii version?
@@521harris sure was
@@521harris Yeah far cry vengeance
played it on 15 fps didnt came past the part where all the vaases came running on me and my mouse sensor was tripping
Yeah i remember playing far cry 3 When it came out up every Night for 2 weeks doin everything there was to do it was one hell of a game
the rook islands was very memorable too, obviously Vaas and all the mechanics at the time were all very-new like. fc5 is all that but literally 100x
What was the space game???
ONE OF MY FAV GAMES EVER
But we all can agree on that Far Cry 4's atmosphere was incredible. I enjoyed every moment of the game. The ambient music was fitting so well into Kyrat. I loved it.
Btw, did you forget about Far Cry Primal?
pample no, farcry 3 is the best
@@sammy4t777 I'm talking about the atmosphere in the game. If we are talking about story and villains, yes Far Cry 3 is way better.
Pample Yeah but I still prefer tropical setting.
Who didnt forget about FarCry Primal
@Shadow blazer no 4 and primal are top tier 3 is a big F
Ma man, michael mando, he's doing very good in better call saul
I've finished FC3 6 times, 2 on xbox 360 and 4 on pc, i'll buy it on PS4. every time i play it gets better, it's that one of a life kind experience with a game.
How do u not like the first cutscene of the game?
2 was up there too
I have recently finished watching "A thorough look at Far Cry" by Noah Caldwell-Gervais.
He has analyzed authorial intent along with games themselves, and I agree with him that Blood Dragon is the best in the franchise.
*Because of Michael Mando and the plot with endless fun with a huge side of WeEd*
I'm now playing this Masterpiece ❤️ & Enjoying..😇
I remember when I saw the first reveal of gameplay for Far Cry 3 on the Spike Video Game Awards. It started with Vaas' Insanity monologue and once that part was over, I knew I had to play it.
Unfortunately with all the praise surrounding Vaas, I think Jason Brodys character (and his arc) was a bit over shadowed to the point Ubisoft probably looked at the critical success of Far Cry 3 and one big criticism (Vaas exiting stage left way to early) and said " Ok, let's put all the writing efforts into the vilians going forward." A decision that possibly lead to the protagonist of FC5 being a silent, blank slate. For me at least, Jason Brodys story was just as interesting (if not potentially more so) than Vaas. Vaas was the end result of what Jason was becoming and it was what made the later half after Vaas' departure compelling enough to finish.
Basically Vaas brought me to the theatre but Jason is what helped me leave with a smile on my face.
Currently playing through it again and couldn't be happier
Far Cry 4 was great with the additional improvements it brought to the table, which I kinda wish 3 would rather have instead of 4 : Better UI, more gun play, user-world interaction improved, animation skips being a major thing, etc...
Nice video
LOL can't wait for cleanprince to release the same exact video tomorrow
It helped put Nacho on the map
THIS was my fave far cry as well
Imagine jasper kyd doing music for far cry 3 :o
cold beer..yaa ... that woud be nice
When was far cry ever a yearly series?
Best thing about far cry 3
I bought into Jason's mission and their freinds felt real enough that it was worth saving them by upgrading skills as soon as possible. Its open world was something magical. Side characters were very good however i wish if killing hoyt would have been a bit more challenging. 2nd island was not as much Immersive as much as the first one.
One of the very best parts is its memorable music.
Far Cry 3, 4, and 5 have fairly interchangeable game play IMHO. What really sets Far Cry 3 apart are the interplay between the story, character arc, and missions. Almost every main campaign mission is meaningful in terms of moving the story forward and furthering Jason's progression. The only part that that devolves into "errand running" are the missions for Buck but at least the payoff of rescuing Keith is still meaningful to the story.
Far Cry 3 also requires you to crawl the map to unlock towers and bases initially which I actually like as it really gets you deep into map exploration before you can just fast travel everywhere later in the game. The sense of immersion is pretty great in that respect whereas in Far Cry 4 after you capture the first outpost you can pretty much just helicopter and wingsuit everywhere.
On that same note it was genius of the developers to give you the wingsuit and several instantly available fast travel locations on the second island. It was the perfect change of pace late game after you had already done the hard grind on the first island.
so yeah you answered my question thank you
Far Cry 3 and Far Cry 5. Vaas was an amazing villian. Had to redownload it to play on Playstation 4.
I just say burn the weed mission (Perfection)!
They really need to bring back vass in some way for far cry 6
I think no other game will ever top FC3, my opinion. It's got me addicted to playing it over and over again. Some times playing from Jason's perspective, like as in what he would do. Then I completed the game with just the starting m1911 and machete. It's truly amazing. The story is the most best in any other game. With a great story arc and great characters...awesome game
Masterpiece.
I am playing FC3 right now, that's why i am watching this video lol but i think i figured it out. 3 feels more like a shooter sandbox and all the other ones feel more like open world first person shooters.
its sad noone mentions the far cry 3 multiplayer, very underrated imo
I dont know why, I've played a lot of great games, but Far Cry 3 remains my absolute favourite game. Something about the world, the journey, the memories, that one specific mission, the themes and the deeper analysis......it just will always have that special place in my heart. Hell, I've replayed the games 2 different times to just get to Kicking The Hornets Nest. That mission, far too dank
my favorite is primal since it did something different and I liked the setting.
Vaas and Hoyt may have been awesome crazy villains, but by far the most disturbing villain was Buck..
"i'll take you bloody if you like, i like my meat rare"..
Far Cry 3 boosted Michael Mando's career up to the top. After this game, he started to take part in various Netflix shows, until he peaked at Better Call Saul. I think he's one of the best TV / videogame actors of this decade, manily becouse of the variety of his characters. I really wish to see him in newest holywood movies (maybe he'll be in the new MCU someday?).
absolutely the best FAR CRY is FAR CRY 3 - and Vaas make it even better
we need the remake or remastered version
Why? It is perfect as it is but for the lame Jason Brody character.
Was the best of all time i gonna play it again on my ps4 stil love it
It is really hard to gain back those 5k subs lmao
FC3 is easily one of my favorite games of all time, it's story, characters, and music is just so damn good in my opinion. And the villian, twists, and character developement really had just perfected the game. I also think it's an incredibly satisfying game with how you takedown enemies and how you can do shit like burn a field of weed. No other Far Cry game has that unique and special personality that 3 does
farcry 3 was my first and most favorite fps open world game and im glad it is
im not sure if i should buy 3 or 5
This is one of my top 10 games
Didn't know it needed an explanation
the only far cry i played and it was decent it had some unique mechanics like the fire the animals i liked the driving and how vunurable you were inside the car ..the bases were good at first but got repetitive fast but the gun play was fun and the aiming system felt great the weapons had good weight behind them and the pacing was immersive even the swimming controls was good but the biggest problem is the map with its lack of unique conetent and how lifeless it felt after the initial exploration
Farcry 3 has one of the best antagonist in a narrative driven game for sure. However I enjoyed Farcry Blood Dragon the best even though its core narrative isn't as strong as Frycry 3.
Corrupt Paragon not really man
death tool What does that even mean?
Just finished it for a 3rd time yesterday
Far cry 4, loved that all the endings had the pros and cons and the villian was the best
I have an ide for Fra Cry 6. The main character should be the son of Citra and Jason from Far Cry 3. And then throughout the campaign, Citra tells you all about your father, Jason. I would really like to see this happen.
hermano this is a vaas montenengro experience
Had to come back after today 😂
I feel that Far Cry 5 matches Far Cry 3's story and combination of linearity and open world action, and even exceeds it because of all the polish that was added to the franchise's core features since 2012. Far Cry 3 gets very tedious to continue with due to its excessive popups and HUD features, animations for every little action your character does, and its incessant Quicktime events. It also suffers, like Far Cry 4 would later too, from a feeling that nothing in the story truly advances until you actually do the main story missions; this makes it seem like all the outposts you can clear and radio towers you deactivate are simply side activities. Far Cry 5 not only removes most Quicktime events and the unnecessary animations like for skinning animals and looting, but progresses the story through making each story mission dependent on how much of the open world you explore and mess around in. And it doesn't even have radio towers or unskippable cutscenes, which is a huge 1-up over 3.
Far Cry 3 and Far Cry 4.I still play these games.
Far Cry 3 was truly perfect. Played it when it came out and loved every second of it. Then obviously I've waited for Far Cry 4, but once I've tried it, it wasn't the same, I've played barely anything and lost interest about 15% in the game. Far Cry 5 - it's just not Far Cry that I know and like. I've tried the first mission and just didn't like how it feels. Obviously each game looks visually much better, but the feeling isn't the same. Far Cry Blood Dragon was probably the best DLC I've ever bought to any game, it was the golden age to this franchise.
Far cry 4 is my favorite, I just wish pagan min had more screen time... I did love far cry 3 too tho ...
This game cannot be replaced! 😍😎
