Hi. Ive only just come across your channel. I have a naughty dog. I take him to a behaviourist and he teaches exactly the same way as you. Im getting there with him. He tries it on for the first 5 mins of our walks but then all i have to do is stop walking and he automatically corrects himself. He gets a praise for it and we continue walking. Ive not managed to get the control as good as i would like when around other dogs but we are getting there. He is 8. Ive had him for two years. He spent 4 years in dogs trust and he lost all confidence, started to dislike people. Hes so much better with people now. Has made some dog friends. He will always wear a muzzle and probably always be on lead but he still enjoys his walks. Im trying to get him to look at me now ie, when we start walking, hes in a sit and has to look at me before walking. Im doing this so i can then start introducing treats. When he looks, he gets a treat. Atm, i get 1/2 a second glance and he's not interested in any food. The 1/2 second glance is a big improvement. I think people dont notice the progress they are getting when its that small but when i look back on what he was like to now, there's tremendous change in him. Even down to just sniffing around, he never did it when i first got him. Took him quite a few months to just stop being on the lookout to attack and start to enjoy the smells.

Both/either Leadership based Relationship, or Relationship based Leadership (?) In both there's the fact that you love the dog :)
    Communication crucial to the relationship.
That's what i take away, thanks

Rewatch the video. He told it exactly what love is.
Clear communication the dog understands (analog communication) and leadership is love. So loving leadership is the key element.
      Stay crunchy.

I love your videos Will, but my 2 dogs, Mista and Karvantista are complete opposites... I need to walk them at the same time, ergo I am trying to train them at the same time.... Mista will listen, come, sit, wait and stay so well, but Karvi has his own way of doing things and won't listen, come sit, wait and stay as well... he will do it in his own time and only when I flick his ear gently can I actually get his attention. What can I possibly do to get them both on the same page? Thanks for any advice XO
PS the boys are litter twins, and are almost 16 months old. Desexed as well.

I have a problem with my dog's behavior when we are out. She is interested in everything around her and gets frightened of me when she is punished.

I need a bit of help. Ive never personally owned a dog before, nor trained one (not counting my family dog as my father did most of his training). I want a Medium to large sized dog breed that is not super easy to train, but isnt super stubborn. My problem lies in the fact i am in school for 6 hours most days of the week, and all the dogs ive thought of have seperation problems and shouldnt be left alone for more than 4 hours, which of course is a problem. What dog breeds do you think are a good bit of a challenge to train, and can be left alone for the times. I am willing to put endless work into training on the weekend.

Is there any way to get your dog to think of you as more of a leader than someone else in your home? Because when I try to train our dog he dosent listen to me every time but he does listen to someone else in my house😅
