I first visited Bulgaria when I was about 7 in the 60’s and loved the folk songs and dances… something mesmerising about the harmonies. You gave an amazing rendition of this folk song… it took me right back there all those years ago!! Brilliant!!
@@lucapizzetti5717 I was very surprized that an Italian was singing the Bulgarian folk. Bulgarian is not an easy language, plus the voices in Bulgarian folk music do not follow the music charts... LOL You could try Albanian chants; there are some beautiful folk songs, very old from north and from south Albania. The north ones are just crazy, out of this world... probably they come from a time that there were no instruments - they are sang "a-cappella" - locals call that kind of chants "kange-maye-krahu" meaning you lift your arm, and put your hand around your mouth as if a bullhorn, or a megaphone. Exotic, even for me as an Albanian. Ancora una volta, i migliori auguri. Vieni a visitare l'Albania la prossima estate. È un'esperienza abbastanza diversa e spettacolare..
@@salvatoredistefano6256 Grazie. Visiting Albania for tourism or just the beach is nothing compared to what a western European (inclusing Italians) could find hidden in the highlands. My family comes from middle Albania, I have traveled a little around, but I know I have seen less then 10%. The best way to really explore is to go deep into the remote areas and live a few days with the locals. Many customs there are untouched, unchaged for centuries; some of the customs are so Medieval, the blood feuds there are incomprehensible even for me as an Albanian; the rituals from birth to death, marriage arraingments (although most youngsters nowadays fall in love and merry as most other Europeans) but you can find remnants of old customs of arranged marriages set by the parents, the entire process is as if it follows an unwritten script. many folk songs still bring to life those rituals and courting; people there swear by God, but you can find people swearing as solemny to the rock, trees or water, or sun and moon. Some of the ritual dances are mesmerizing; and the folk music is unique, but you also can find Greek, Bulgarian and Levante influences; as small as the country is, each smaller region has its own distinctive folk music. Some of the music is so Medieval, I was attending a Medieval festival in the rural Penssylvania (USA) last summer and was surprized that one of the Medieval-theme bands played two Albanian folk songs in their program... well they called them Medieval, but you could hear those songs at most of the Albanian weddings. I knew the tunes, so I did some search, and found out that not only the USA bands, but some European (German, Danish) bands were playing in Germany, Switzerland, and even in Italy (Turin, Milan) some of these old Medieval songs... well you call them Medieval, Albanians still play them in their modern weddings today. Welcoming people, and great food; vacationing in Albania is like three times cheaper than in the USA; my kids loved the food there and the beach, and the landscape. AWESOME, man! I've been totally digging on the Bulgarian choir for about 2 months. Just playing it over and over. You really brought a cool new light on this piece. Love the modulation and percussion interpretation. You the man, Luca.
Wow Ralph this is so nice of you. yes, I felt like it was missing something, so I added my personal touch. Yet the original version still gives me the goose bumps every time
Thank you for this very well made arrangement ! The choir version is amazing and what you did of it is really top notched with nice personal touches. I love the percussions you made as well as the dynamic variations and the rubato/speed variations. Very well balanced and well thought. Really awesome !
Ran across Kaval Sviri a few weeks ago, and this is my new favorite rendition. The percussion elements you added are new, but I think they fit really well, and add more depth to the piece!
Such rhythm, such musicality... The intonation is really nice, not sure if people that are not born and raised in balkans can feel this, but i certainly can feel this song in my soul. Props to you Luca, and thank you for this masterpiece interpretation.
Wow, you nailed it down perfectly! Great job! You really enriched the harmonics beyond the contemporary Bulgarian way of performing this pieces, combined with such sweet rhythmic arrangement. Beautiful! Please keep going! Will love to see more of these !
