seems like a HUGE disappointment that in these times you cant replace the cable on this headset. its already so expensive and usually the cable is the first thing to break (since they are either to long and you drive over them or to short and you rip them apart by looking to away from your PC
Hi, sir! Another great review again. Anyway, in your review before bout the ASUS ROG Centurion, you said it has a great true surround sound quality except for the mic which is cheap for its price. But, now this ASUS STRIX 7.1 true surround sound has also good sound quality and also it has a good mic quality as well. Now, in your honest and long experience with the two 7.1 true surround sound, which do you think is better or are they just have the same sound quality when it comes to music, videos, movies and specially games? I'm gonna buy a new true 7.1 surround sound headset soon but because both of them are kinda pricey, so I really2x need to think wisely... HAHAHA!!! Anyway, hope you would notice this again and thank you again sir for such a nice review and God bless. ^^
Thanks sir for your fast reply. Hmm, I think Strix true 7.1 surround sound is a better choice also when it comes to mic itself. I hope my decision is right... hehehe. God bless. sir.
Hello. I am thinking to buy those because of a true surround sound. Just wondering how long did they last and would you still recommend them. Or anything else with true SS. And why did you pick those over centurion? Thanks in advance for your time
They're well built and still going. My brother uses them now as I've got a lot of other headsets to use. The Centurion had a dodgy mic this one doesn't have that issue.
Hey good and honest video! I have a question for you. I'm looking for a new 7.1 surround sound headset as my current Trust GXT340 virtual surround headset has served me for 5-6 years now. I personally think a true 7.1 headset with multiple drivers and speakers should be outperforming the virtual surround headsets. But online articles say true 7.1 is indeed a world of a difference while on UA-cam there are just a few videos about this topic and saying pretty much there is no difference and you should just buy a cheaper virtual 7.1 headset. It is kinda confusing and shops are closed so there is no way for me to test dozen of this headsets on my own right now. What is your experience with true or virtual 7.1 headset and is a price difference of about €100 more for a true 7.1 justified? And my next question would be about wireless headsets. In the past it has allways been an issue with the possible lag due to it being a wireless connection. As I play 80% of the time competitive games. Having even a minimal lag on sound sometimes would be a deal breaker for me. Do you have any experience with the newer wireless headsets and would this still be an issue nowadays? I would really appreciate it if you can give me your thoughts on this
Hello! I've got loads of experience with wireless headsets and haven't had an issue with lag when connected via the various wireless dongles. If you're a serious gamer, I'd suggest a high Res headset would be a great buy. Something like the SteelSeries Arctis Pro+ GameDAC or the Audeze Mobius or HyperX Quadcast S. Expensive but premium and if you're on PC the addition of high resolution audio makes a surprising difference to soundscape and positional audio. They're not wireless but if you're after the best sound they might be better options. Checkout my channel for various Vs videos on headsets. I've seen/heard a lot.
My first recommendation would be to check your Windows sounds settings. Ensure that audio is set to maximum output. Then you can adjust volume on the control box. Also switching between sound types (FPS for example) makes a difference as does ensuring 7.1 is turned on. Otherwise it'll just be stereo.
Hello my friend, congrats for your videos. I have the same headset and you talked about all the true settings and real configurations! The 7.1 is amazing and on the game experience is a advantage against other gamers because is so immersive that you will know where the enemies exactly is if you "play with your ears". Give a look in my channel and see how to fix this headset! Cheers
On my Sennheiser headset, I can flip the microphone up along the ear cuffs. This disables it, which is very cool when you're raging or just want to listen to music. Can this headset do the same?
The Centurion has an awful mic - see my review here - ua-cam.com/video/o0aRANoA3l4/v-deo.html but is otherwise (slightly) superior. Atmos is software based, so not as good but can be used with ANY stereo gaming headset, not just Plantronics (that's just a marketing ploy). So depends how much you want to spend, what you want from it and what sound quality you're after. At the moment I'd highly recommend the SteelSeries Arctis Pro - ua-cam.com/video/zB-SQotr39Y/v-deo.html
Pew, Me and the Other Guy ah alright thanks. But I can't afford the Amp if I want that arctis pro. I saw some astro a50's Gen 3 with Amp for a pretty decent price. But that was second hand. So what would be the best option to go for? The centurion (new) arctis pro without Amp (new) astro a50 gen 3 with Amp (second hand)?

The J.M.P.M Clever Channel good luck.
The headset creaks too much, like when you move your head, you can hear the band around the head make a squeaky creak sound, my only complaint
same

Quite probably. Though I've also reviewed a lot of other headsets recently I'd recommend to. But yes they're still great.
Can you please guide me to install these drivers? You did a good job presenting this headphones, but it seems like the sound is stuffy and too low

This mic quality is not good.
does the rgb change colours or is it only orange?
Only orange.,
Shame, my theme is black n blue, is it worth it tho? Especially for a game like pubg?
@@Pauliee7 I think so, yes. Positional audio is excellent. It's comfortable, built well and is a joy to use.

My real 5.1 headset just broke yesterday. So I was looking for a new headset. Anyway. Thanks!!
