@Greg Spolar I'm not ignorant when I plainly see the majority of mobile home parks I have visited are placed in some of the most treacherous weather zones around. These are houses too. In many flood prone areas in the US (Mississippi, Louisiana) most homes are not built on platforms or stilts. In tornado prone areas (Kansas ect) most homes are not built underground and one must pay out of pocket to get a storm shelter of sorts. Eh, wrong, licensed contractors, such as myself, not only DO take it into account, but, we're required to! Even customers with plenty of money don't want a sprinkler system in their house, even if they're pop down with nothing but a low profile plastic cover showing. Building codes have changed dramatically over the past 40 years in hurricane and flood zones, so, there you have that. Definitely keeping an eye on Boxabl products in the future. I am very interested in a stackable boxabl house ( possibly off grid) with 2-3 bedrooms on the second floor. I could make the “first floor bedroom” into a office or something. Love the idea, and the price is actually decent compared to a tiny home. Wish you guys good luck on your products in the future, cant wait for more designs.
When I was in the medical corps we had our operating rooms that would unfold like this. The big difference was we could tear it back down, attach special tires and drive off with it to a new location. Just so you know, I was in a MASH and we would set up an entire hospital using mobile building and specialized tents.
$50k is the house. Don’t forget to add price of buying, clearing, and prepping land for utility hookup ($20K), shipping ($2k), setup (??$$). Wish they would make a “Bottom line - How much does it REALLY cost” video.

There house costs $50,000 on their end, plus shipping Done, your end is the rest, you need to figure out, so for $100K that's really Not that big of a house, depending on Where you live, I suppose in more densely populated cities, that might sound like a BIG BARGAIN
Wow...50k is a decent price for a lot of homes already finished in my state, MO. So I suppose it depends on where you're located. East and West coasts may be better suited since their housing is so high.
Hilariously done, and fascinating. And the materials! I grew up in a poorly built home that had flooding problems almost from the day we moved into it, brand new. I moved out when I got married, and into a long series of apartments, all either with repeated water damage, or built about 100 years ago and falling apart. Now I'm paying the price in major health issues. I just want somewhere clean and nice to live, like this!
Got my first apartment and things can haven't changed. A lot of bandages are done as repairs instead of doing real repairs and most maintenance men don't know or care to do the job right. Had kitchen floor floor done, 2 days and it was 5 layers from past bandages instead of real repairs. Contactor was only allowed to do surface repairs and my kitchen floor is slanted more than ever and the tiles we're put on wrong (overlapping each other). Maintenance man quickly noticed the slanting kitchen floor and said "They should've use leveling compound.". No no. Not when you haven't removed the whole water damaged floor, bottom of kitchen sink would be under the floor.
Stainless steel panels "how perfect is that seam?" Well, it's off by an 1/8" and dented on the top. Trolling aside, keep pushing forward. Cool concept if you make it affordable. Unlike tiny home builders who build a 400 sqft home for $88k +.
This can become a future of houses, it's not expensive, fire resistance, and pretty durable. This can become a good solution for homeless people as well.
I agree. we also need local laws to get rid of rules that would prevent these homes. like where I live. I have extra land, but they would deny my right to build a tiny home, which I would use as an emergency shelter or extra housing for my family so they don't have to be house broke. also, they need to come down on the price.
I'm a GC in Florida. I think that if Boxabl 'certifies' contractors throughout the US, the price to install and the scope covered should be fixed so that a buyer knows what the final investment will be. The only variable in the pricing should be the cost of permits, local impact fees (if any), etc.
What about the numerous complicated variables? Grading the land before pouring the foundation? Distance from the road the box comes in on? What the utility hook-ups are like and how far they are from the buildsite? Etc.
Never knew these homes existed. Thanks. Amazing the cost and energy savings. Will be a boon in some areas of the country and in overcrowded countries as well. Do they ship to other countries?
Right. I was thinking the same thing. I’m not paying $200 to be put on a waiting list when I’m not guaranteed to actually get one. Also, with them being so tight lipped about when they’ll actually become available. It’s probably best to wait

Love it! The only thing I would change is the overhang on the roof. We get torrential rain in SC, and having a significant soffit area to help keep the exterior dry and mitigate moisture issues. If a surface is at all susceptible to mold or mildew, it will grow there in this climate. My husband did project management for a company that does FEMA builds for flood victims in SC. Something like this on a larger scale (FEMA homes in SC must be over 1000 sq. feet and have a laundry area). All of the projects that they did also had a covered porch. Contractors here have issues with different building crews taking off to new disaster locations and delaying the next part of the project. Something like this would be great to cut down on those problems and get people back into a house faster.

In Atlanta you can't get land for $20,000. Avg lot development alone is $60k. This would be great for affordable housing in Atlanta but it's still not doable if you can't buy the land you need.
I’m wondering how thick or thin the interior walls are. For instance, in a mobile home the walls are so paper thin you can hear everything from the next rooms. This would not be ideal.
Just a suggestion. Consider that the future is going to be green, low-cost, modular communities. So it makes sense to have them all-electric, throughout the sub-division, and with solar panels, and other certifiable, green building features. Also, please include adequate storage space. Could different modules be attached and configured to make an "L" or a "U" or an "O"?
The who ideal behind the tiny house movement was to live in an affordable space, become a minimalist to gain financial freedom. That's why Skoolies and van life is popular. $3,000-$6,000 for the basic bus then roughly 10,000 more to modify it into an Rv and asking someone if you can use their land for vehicle registration and you have saved roughly $30,500. The people that need a home don't have thousands of dollars to drop on something like this or they probably would have a house already.
I thought for sure we'd be seeing this home put together and sort of a consistent non choppy Fell Swoop type of deal. I waited and waited to see the house come together and it never happened
I've been following Boxabl for awhile. Love it! If they could put in a pocket door to the bathroom that would create much more versatile space on either side for tall storage furniture or shelves.
What...Everything is included. Have you ever calculated the cost of building or built anything significant? You don't work for passos and neither will skilled craftsmen, supply stores and manufacturers. It kills me how people think designer handbags expensive shoes and cars are at justified cost; however nice quality housing (which is labour) is supposed to be dirt cheap. There are really cheap housing options out there to fit inexpensive budgets. The question is...are you will willing to adapt your lifestyle?
Pray that it isn’t! I don’t want this toxic waste box shipped to my once great country. As a healthy home consultant, this is horrendous and will harm. Both people and our only planet…
Now I know why Musk sold his mansions for this... I would sell my 2M house to trade for this zero maintenance piece of engineering marvel in a heart beat If the wife and kids are okay with it
Wow that is so cool I could see that really taking off not only here but in third world countries and I would love to know when they release an IPO. Great video
Yes, but theirs won’t be as high quality. The Chinese know that and they looooooove buying western made products. China also has a shortage of lumber, so the price is not necessarily going to be that low either.
I'd love to live in one off grid or in town! I would buy one to live in the country for sure. Market these to film studios as well who could use them sets!

@@mellowsweet5686 - We can live for free on this planet earth if we want to, but it will require you to build (or dig) your own shelter like the animals and insects do. We may have been given this planet to live on, but that doesn't come with a house by default. If we want SOMEONE ELSE to build us a really nice shelter that we are not able to build ourselves, then it will cost us money. We can't expect others to work for free for us. That is called slavery, and the world shouldn't go back to such horrible practices. Would you build me a home for free? No? Then why would anyone build one for you or me for free? Just how it works. As for me, I can't even afford a $50,000 home like this, so will have to look for other options ;)
I think this is a great idea but I want to comment, that even though I am in a wheelchair, I would not mind a tub as long as there are handles or a seat to help me get in and out. I tried a rolled in shower, but it rusted out my wheelchair. Come to think of it, can you have a walk in tub installed? Are there other floor plans?
penny Hinson ........ yes, can be done. With that amount in a lot of places especially down south, you could live like a king. Even in places like Philadelphia you could buy a house for that amount with every already setup and connected with more square footage and more bedrooms. Why would I pay that much for a one bedroom and still have to pay for the the hookups? 🧐 But hey, maybe I’m just frugal 😂.
Boxabl...... yeah I get it, however it’s a one bedroom house. Plus I’d still have to pay for the hookups for my plumbing and electrical systems correct? That’s not included in that price correct? So that’s an additional cost, and I’d still have to purchase the land. I get the appeal, it’s a beautiful house. However, I could buy a house move-in ready for that price with plumbing and electrical systems already setup, all I’d have to do is get them turned. Plus I’d have more square footage and more rooms. I want to make it clear, I’m not downing this house, or this option. I think it’s beautiful and interesting. However the price 😬 that makes me cringe 😂
Logically, for those wondering, if they can stack them a owner could have a roof, pitched or shed roof for draiage, or snow load. I know they have heat and air. These homes are amazing, would love to find a spot for one here in the Kansas City, No area. Would love to be the first to live in one of these homes.
This is actually quite common in China, they’ve been building these for a long time already. I hate when a company tries to say they invented things like this.

Feel free to follow us on instagram.com/_boxabl
That’s pretty cool Kristina! You look like you had so much fun! Ok so now this is going to be my new studio!!! Lol. Keep up the great work!
I want one too!! Maybe they will be nice and give me one. Thank you Johnny for watching.
I thought for sure we'd be seeing this home put together and sort of a consistent non choppy Fell Swoop type of deal. I waited and waited to see the house come together and it never happened
She spends so much time flirting with him, which is exactly what I would have done! Thank you!
Yeah, it hides the facts of selling a toxic waste dump box as a home…
Jealous?
She seemed fun and asked gr8 questions to me. Perception is sometimes weird...
I've been following Boxabl for awhile. Love it! If they could put in a pocket door to the bathroom that would create much more versatile space on either side for tall storage furniture or shelves.
They have floor plans for the future that will have exactly what you are talking about.
$50,000!!! That price needs to go down.
20 or 30K tops. Not 50K tho
Do you know how much a fully built home cost?
@@the_filthy_mcnastiest6803 you can buy a mobile home for 15K - 25K
What...Everything is included. Have you ever calculated the cost of building or built anything significant? You don't work for passos and neither will skilled craftsmen, supply stores and manufacturers. It kills me how people think designer handbags expensive shoes and cars are at justified cost; however nice quality housing (which is labour) is supposed to be dirt cheap. There are really cheap housing options out there to fit inexpensive budgets. The question is...are you will willing to adapt your lifestyle?
Nicke Smith exactly! If it’s out your price range just move on and buy that prefab from Amazon. Lol. Folks are strange
Pretty cool. I wonder if this would be allowed in many areas though? So many codes and other rules you have to follow everwhere now.
Depending where you are in Canada, as long as you have proper permits and the required hookups, it’s allowed.
Pray that it isn’t! I don’t want this toxic waste box shipped to my once great country. As a healthy home consultant, this is horrendous and will harm. Both people and our only planet…
@@mudslinger888 Can put link or make a video about why this box is harmful.
Thank you so much in advance (▰˘◡˘▰)
As a startup founder, I am so impressed on his ability to answer all these questions on so many different topics. Awesome, interview! I want one.
Now I know why Musk sold his mansions for this... I would sell my 2M house to trade for this zero maintenance piece of engineering marvel in a heart beat
If the wife and kids are okay with it
Actually he stated although he is fond of these...he DOES NOT live in a Boxabl. Look it up. 😂
Wow that is so cool I could see that really taking off not only here but in third world countries and I would love to know when they release an IPO. Great video
Thank you for watching.
They are about to release !!
AWESOME! I hope one day every single person will have a basic home to fall back on.
For sure the Chinese will duplicate this and mass market it at half the price due to their cheap labor costs. For sure
Yes, but theirs won’t be as high quality. The Chinese know that and they looooooove buying western made products. China also has a shortage of lumber, so the price is not necessarily going to be that low either.
The casita is $50,000 for less than 400 sq ft. I had a 700 sq ft house built for less than that, permits and all included.
I'd love to live in one off grid or in town! I would buy one to live in the country for sure. Market these to film studios as well who could use them sets!
I think it is a brilliant concept. Love it
LOVE IT! great follow-up to the first video!
Thank you Strawberry.
Yes, learn more at Boxabl.com.
Can you reverse the kitchen and bathroom. Just not sure I could sleep next to the frig
Maybe just get a partition to put there if you had to
Looks like a good product. The chemistry with these two is really cute.
I’m looking at land outside of Vegas where I live now. So happy to hear they are in NV! I gotta check this out. I was thinking dome home, but this is far more simple 🤔. Thanks! Love your channel! My daughter and I get a kick out of the pics u post for the community. 😂
This would probably be so cool as an a frame as well...
Thank you 💞🙏🏿💞
Thank you for watching.
Only in the USA would they want to know if it's bullet-proof.
It was meant to be light hearted.
It's a valid concern here, unfortunately.
We need these in the UK! My local council might actually be able to house people!
Are these homes still available at $50,000 for complete 375 square feet ? If yes if you buy 2 to put together as 1. Does it cost more to make 1 into 2 bedrooms?
Mars is absurd you have low air pressure, sub freezing cold and very high radiation to contend with
Good point.
The point is they are describing a product that isn't out on Earth yet let alone burning it up with space garbage Mars by an idiot like E. Musk.
The shower head is installed way too low.
My 6'6" husband would agree. 😂
They said the tub is switchable for a roll in shower, so it's probably positioned that low to make it accessible to handicapped. Why redesign it?
It really should be on/in the ceiling to accommodate everyone. Makes it feel more high end.
@@Cornerstanding The ceiling folds down. It can't have any pipes sticking out of it..
I’d pay 💰 like $25,000 not $50,000
I'd pay maybe $3,000.00 we're the only idiots on earth that pay to live on a planet! That we were given!....😬😬😬
$50,000 you get a fully finished house.
@@mellowsweet5686 ur dumb
mellow sweet 🤔
Are there other floor plans?
less time cleaning a house, more time to do fun things!
Brilliant idea! Just to let you know, twice in the video, start and end, the title says it's a "castia" rather than "casita".
Great idea! Would love to be able to get a 2 bedroom for our retirement cabin.
We have not announced pricing for new models and sizes yet we will soon
I am so excited about this! I've been weighing my tiny home options and this is over my budget but seems worth the money.
For Canada 🇨🇦 are they 2 x6 thick walls for Canada let me know bin very interested I’m on 613 bruiser Instagram please let me
Feel free to email us hello@boxabl.
I really want a few of these and a few to build one big 1 story 🥰
For the price I could just buy a home with more square footage. 🤔
For $50,000. Nah, can't be done.
$50,000 you get a fully finished house.
penny Hinson ........ yes, can be done.
Please tell me town and state
We live in Texas and this is awesome!
Why do they say “casita” like that. Caw-see-tuh instead of CAH-SEE-TAH 😂 lord.
Artistic_Arsenal 1 not to mention the editor put Castia instead of Casitas
@@tanzanite8908 what does it mean? Is it the name of the model of the house?
@@newbreednewdawn5026 Casita is Spanish for "little house."
accent. thats it
Probably for the same reason she says "Frigerator" as if the RE is silent lol
I am in Washington state, the wettest state. How do these houses hold up against mold?
We need this concept in Ghana to solve our housing deficit. Thank you Boxabl for this awesome idea. Ghanaians are waiting for you.
That was my thought exactly. I lived in Ghana recently and thought the same thing. That this concept would be perfect for housing
Kristina your awesome! Thank you so much for being a real estate game changer.
You can get a real house with a nice yard for 50k
Can I have this setup in my backyard?
Logically, for those wondering, if they can stack them a owner could have a roof, pitched or shed roof for draiage, or snow load. I know they have heat and air. These homes are amazing, would love to find a spot for one here in the Kansas City, No area. Would love to be the first to live in one of these homes.
I absolutely love this concept and idea! The Casita is perfect for me!
Maybe for two 😍🥰😘😙
Is there a chance for a two bedroom building and can the outward design of the exterior walls be made to say look "cottage"?
Yes. You can configure them. They will have more options in the future as well.
@@KristinaSmallhorn Ok, that's great!
Fantastic
Soon we will announce more floorplans and sizes
I would love to have a version available on wheels. RV hook up options.
You can always unfold it and move it...
This would be amazing for homeless people to get back on track and have a temporary place to do that!
I totally agree.
This looks like a permanent place to get back on track, just buy ground and maybe another unit if u need Ha ha
This is actually quite common in China, they’ve been building these for a long time already. I hate when a company tries to say they invented things like this.
The middle class in 1950's USA had options like this, although the homes were larger. But the concept is relatively the same.
Gary Stevens the guy claims to have engineered this, which is a out right lie: so what else may be dishonest about the company?
This was awesome Kristina!!!!! Great video!!!!
Thank you!
Very exciting, expect this concept & design, along w/ easy set up will become very popular! We know it's not 49 a square foot, so that's
helpful.Wish he gave us a ball park figure though.
Another Great Video Kristina, Thank you♥️
They are 375 square ft. For $49,500. They come with everything except the bed and couch.

Does the company offer financing?

Can you finance?
Yes! Boxabl will be connecting customers with our financing partners. Many loan options are available. Before we finalize your Box order our financing partners will reach out to you to discuss loan options. Its likely you can finance your Boxabl with a traditional 30 year mortgage.
Really liked the solar panels on the roof idea. Square footage is decent & design is nice. Love the steel construction.
WOW😳, WHAT A AWESOME, EXCELLENT GENIUS IDEAS👌 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
So the guy who made the company doesnt even know when they will be ready to ship? Its been 5 months since this video, has there been an update?

WE HAVE A LOT OF POWER OUTAGES [ALL THE TIME!!! UNFORTUNATELY 4 US] N Arkansas
They need to get the cost down to around 10k or come out with a 10k version to appeal to the masses. I can buy a regular house for less than 50k.
@@datdude8878 AZ, ID, MI and more places, that's where! 🤣
@@johnruiz6743 but that's crazy low... the lowest house ive ever seen anywhere in Canada is like 90k and the location is usually somewhere undesirable. Most places houses cost way more than that, average house cost in London Ontario is 650k! With these, if you bought land for 100k, install for 50k (it would be less), you could get a 3,000 square foot home built in a week for the same price as the average London home which is much smaller.
@@williampatrickwoods The houses I have seen in different states were not in the ghetto nor 100 miles from civilization. Most were in the suburbs or a reasonable distance from town. Definitely not in undesireable places. If you want property in TRULY undrsireable places, it's way cheaper than $50k! For example Detroit was selling places for $1, but smack in the middle of an urban warzone! And if you don't mind living a long way from civilization, then more super cheap houses and land is available.
???. Lol that's very low price
Lol, so if the windows are closed, locked even, I can fold the wall and get inside?

That's what I was thinkinh
But what about a stove?
The tour and the beginning of the video states that the stove is included. Only the bed and couch are not.
