    I started watching you because I’m interested in buying a Catalina 22. The honest presentation you make has held me.

    Not a gamble to buy your boat--all the work was documented on camera. I was sad to sell Bootstrap, but when it's time to move on, it's time to move on. Feeling your pain.

    Glad you're back! You were the first sailing channel I followed. I live in your area so I recognized all the places in your videos. Learned to sail in the prams stored in the little blue bldg in front of your slip. Two years ago your channel inspired me to by an O'day 23 that I've been sailing in the Gulf and bays from Anclote Lighthouse to St. John's Pass. But I decided I needed a bigger boat, so I bought a Hunter 33 (2006) and just yesterday I sold my O'day. Really looking forward to your next adventure. I hope it's sailing, but I'll keep following even if its not. You do good work and explain it well. Thanks for all the time and effort you and Suzi put into your channel!

    It's great to see you two again. A little sad to see Envision go and then sustain damage. I'm looking forward to your next boat. Best of luck!

    Sorry to hear about Envision's fate Jason, we can hope someone comes along and puts her back in shape like you did. Can't wait to hear what you and Susy get up to next, I'm hoping you guys get back on the water before long. Will patiently wait for your next Vlog. Best of luck to you both whatever you choose to do. Sad to see what happened to Envision! It's hard to see something you took such good care of damaged.

    I loved this video. People are not really making videos like this. It's full of emotion. I missed your videos quite a bit. We all have things going on in our lives. Maybe they were an escape for us. I wish you the best and hope you find what you are looking for. Although I have never met you, I consider you my friends and I would welcome you no matter where we were. God bless!

      Thanks. Susy told me somebody might want to see the RV stuff, but I doubted it, and I was enjoying doing something without a camera in my hand for once. The next video is already in progress as I'm way behind.

    3:10 The right way to coil the line!! I was so excited to see this video post! Wow, if my backstay broke, I would only have two lower shrouds holding it. Frantic lowering of the main and furling of the jib. What a stress. Tying a halyard to the back is a great idea.

    I saw Envision for sale 3 years ago - I called to make an offer, but you had beat me to it. I ended up with an Endeavor 32. She was the perfect boat - until she sank at the dock due to a failed dripless seal at the prop shaft. I was devastated and heartbroken. 9 months later, I found a Bavaria 37.I was looking for bigger, better, newer. I love this boat. It's slightly bigger than I wanted, but she is a good boat. I want to thank you for all your informative videos. I sail out of Clearwater, so your videos look very familiar to me. Best of luck to you. I am sorry that Envision did not have a happy ending.

    Glad to see you guys back. I “envision” it was hard to see your boat so mistreated. Good luck in your search for a new boat. Hope to see you back on the water soon. (I’d rather see boating videos than camping videos).

    Overall, did you like to smaller boat, or this larger bot more? Nice cliffhanger at the end!

    Sad to see it go. I especially found your videos informative since I bought a '79 O'day 28 2 years ago. It needed engine work and general maintenance as well. This spring I had it hauled for some major maintenance work; bottom, cutless bearing, new shaft etc. I took that opportunity to rename it - Boldly Go!

    If that ever happens again, you can secure the main sail halyard to a hard point on the transom to stabilze the mast.

    • @AdventuresInParadise
      @AdventuresInParadise  7 днів тому +1

      Thats what I ended up doing... running the main halyard back and then winching it lightly for tension, while I waited for the part to be made as the genoa was sagging on the forestay. Luckly we were 5mins from our marina when this happened, but the main halyard trick is great to know.

    That is sad. She was a good boat but the new owner just neglected her. Sailing off into a sunset when he got her (how romantic) LOL. Me with a new boat she would be a dock queen for the first few months with perhaps very short shake down day sails for the first season. Season 2 after getting to know her, some weekend trips and if all goes well perhaps a week vacation trip.

  • @JerseyShorePirate
    @JerseyShorePirate 7 днів тому +1

    I know how you must feel, seeing the shabby way that the new owners treated Envision. I had a C&C 27 for 7 years, that I babied. When I sold her, the new owner also took her to Sarasota where he left her on anchor. He went to Orlando and while her was away we had a bad storm. The boat was blown ashore where she beat herself to death on the seawall. She was totaled. Only 6 weeks after I sold her. Gross.

      I certainly was hoping Envision would live on.... even just for all the hard work I put into her that I'd never get paid for. I actually asked my Wife how she felt about a rescue, but she looked at me like I was crazy.

    Trawler. I bet that's what's coming after discovering how much room a 30' RV had.

    Like everyone else, I’m glad to see you two back but I just hate it for Envision… she deserved a much better fate. Hopefully you’ll still be sailing instead of motoring, but I guess I’ll have to wait and see, lol!!

    • @AdventuresInParadise
      @AdventuresInParadise  6 днів тому +1

      Wouldn't it be great to buy her back and fix her up? I actually suggested that, but Susy didn't have to say anything. Just the look on her face told me what I needed to know.

    • @southernpaths2986
      @southernpaths2986 5 днів тому

      @@AdventuresInParadise she’s right though… if you two are looking to sail out on longer trips you need a different type of sailboat. Not even necessarily bigger, just a different design. A Cape Dory 28, for example has taken Sam Holmes (and more than a few others!) across oceans. In any event, I was really happy to get an update from you two. I live near Atlanta and have flown a Cessna 172 over Stone Mountain many times as a student pilot getting my private license.

    • @AdventuresInParadise
      @AdventuresInParadise  5 днів тому +1

      @@southernpaths2986 99% of all the sailing we did was within 10 miles of where we started, so there definitely won't be anything larger or designed for longer trips.

    The current owner has Envision for sale. I took damage from Debby. I figured the current owner had no clue of a headache involving a sailboat. I'm making a keys trip this fall. Soon as I typed this I seen you seen it too. Lol. Anyways hope our paths cross and fair winds and travels.

    Most boats die a similar fate and end up cut up and in a dumpster
