There are few things I would add: 1. Measure your success in outcome. It's not the number of books that you read, but number of meaningful changes that you bring about in your life that matters. 2. Focus on interest. Read the books that are deeply interesting to you and help you with problems that you perceive need to be solved. You don't have to know everything about everything, read what grasps you. P.S: Tolle's books have probably changed me the most out of everything I've ever read. I'd also put them to the top of the list for getting out of the bubble of our own thoughts and perceptions.
I don't read like I used to, but after college I read _Amusing Ourselves to Death_ and decided to stop watching television and read a lot more. People quit reading just when it starts to really get interesting. I read hundreds of books on many different subjects and started filling up some of the gaps in my education.
Loved that book. I read it only last year, some would think it's outdated, but one could as easily replace the word "television" with "the Internet" and it all makes perfect sense. A 10/10 reading experience.
Thank you for changing my life. I started to watch your videos since last year. I don't really like reading, but I love listening. Thank you for summarizing those influential books for me 😊😊
I bought a book Called DO it Today because I wasnt doing anything from long yrs. HOwever, I didnt open the book even though it says Do it today. After watching your Vide0 I have decided tp open the book rightaway start reading with the process you have mentioned in the vidoe,. Thak you for a valuable video.
Audible was a game changer for me, ive read maybe a handful of books in my life and most of those before i was 10. I think im at 20books now in only the last few years. I listen on my way to work and i can tell you my life and career have improved significantly.
This will irritate some of you, but I don't care. When I gave up on my Atheism at 28, and became I Christian, I got a peace that, though strained at times, has been with me for the last 50 years.
Atheism and theism are like alternating phenomena. They occur significantly decades after decades. One who leaves theism in favor of atheism, seeks a non-dogmatic life and the one who leaves atheism for theism, seeks a reliever for a pain that couldn't find a solution for, otherwise. An atheist that was a theist once, had a surprising and unbelievable chance to convert. But the theist who was atheist before, was in need of something at the first place. Something to believe and something to be poured into the void he felt.
this is such a great heads-up at just the right time. I've been trying to pass an extremely challenging test for a certificate and I have zero clue where I should start. So I'm kinda procrastinating. Well, I'm starting bit by bit, like daily. Not big changes, but small and steady.
I've listened to a few of her videos now, but this little 12 min clip really hit home for me. I listen to youtube motivational tapes while showering all the time, but now b/c of her I'm going to start adding audio books. Yesterday I was on the bus & I started watching this video. I've heard this clip a few times but watching & listening really made a difference. Her voice is perfect too. It doesn't come across as monotonous or her voice being too low in order to be able to hear her while showering. Thank you whoever you are ;-)
Woah for real? I'm so excited. Celia dullpher strategy has normalised winning trades for me also. and it's a huge milestone for me looking back to how it all started

I'm curious to know more about the expert broker you're considering. Could you share some details about their experience and why you believe they might be a good fit for people’s trading.
Wow! First time I see you on my feed. Excellent video and excellent recommendations. My excuse is that I receive hundreds of chats and emails throughout the day, and just don’t want to read any more after my very long workday has ended. I have tried going back to reading and has been very difficult for me because the above. I recently finished the 48 Laws of Power, it hooked me, didn’t matter how busy I was. Thank you! I will try, 2 minutes at a time and picking up books about the problems I’m trying to solve.
Significance, to me, is not measured by time. I spend 5 minutes a day in my Bible app with scripture and prayer. That 5 minutes may seem insignificant to some, but to me, it’s the most important 5 minutes of my day.
MIND MAPS to take notes It's also good to read a book about the least difficult problem, one that seems like you're an inch away. Success breeds success.
Would you say that to a blind person? Illiterate person? Please read more (listening counts too) it will guide you to the deeper end of your gene pool.
@@REALaDiamond Receiving a story isn't reading. You aren't reading when someone tells you the story of how their day was, listening to a podcast, or listening to this UA-cam video. You are't reading when listening to an audio book. While the story should illicit similar thoughts and emotions regardless of if you are reading a book or listening to an audiobook, these two activities utilize different parts of the brain. We shouldn't change definitions of things. Listening to an audiobook is a more passive activity that may allow a person to do other things while listening. It also doesn't require someone know how to read. Reading is an active activity that can't really be effectively multi-tasked - certainly not for the duration of an entire book. This shouldn't be taken as me denigrating audio books. I want to be clear that we should emphasize the importance of reading and ensure that children and adults do actual reading from time to time, but audio books are convenient. They're certainly great for long walks and drives, helping children learn to read, et cetera.
I really enjoyed your video. Basically, I was not interested in reading books, but a year ago I understood the importance of books and how they influence our minds. Now I spend at least 15 minutes a day reading books, and I mostly prefer personality development books. Could you please share some book names in this genre? I think it would really help me.
The internet is our greatest book in the world. We can read articles, watch videos like this and listen audio books on it. We can do them all to learn something new every day. Though, the power of now is still worth reading as well.
If I start to build my reading habit from Day 1 as 100 seconds and increase it by 1% daily. It will become 3741 seconds or 62.35 minutes a day. and I will max out myself at 3741 seconds and will maintain the time for next 4 years. If I assume it takes me 18000 seconds or 300 minutes or 5 hours to complete a book containing around 120-150 pages. Year 1 = 20 Books Year 2 = 75 Books Year 3 = 75 Books Year 4 = 75 Books Year 5 = 75 Books After completion of this streak, anyone can approximately complete 320 books in 5 year. 1 book cost me around $1.25 or 150 BDT on average in my country Bangladesh. 320 books will cost me $400 or BDT48000.
I like you work and i know you really like to help people i need to know what tool are you using to generate such amazing animation and tank you for your help
I personally think that audio book is better than reading to me. When I read I have a hard time understanding or focusing on what I’m reading. With the audio book I can focus more and take notes easier of what I think is important.
The first book I bought was 2,5 years ago: the alchemist. Started reading it a couple times for some pages and then never looked back at it for a couple of months; no concentration and motivation to read. I started it again a couple months ago with the goal to read 5 pages a day; worked for a week. Then I thought let’s buy some books I want to read eventually, so I got 5 ‘self-helping’ books like 2/3 months ago, and 2 books like a couple days ago. Only read one for 30 pages. I learned I got to start way smaller, and really set goals on why I want to read this book. Most of these books I bought because of a ‘life problem’ and to learn and make progress in life. It should be part of your lifestyle and mindset. With the gym and some other routine I am pretty consistent and making some nice progress. Reading is just a harder part but this video gave me a motivation boost for sure
the first 5 minutes were intriguing. Then the topic changed to money and time. And that's where it goes wrong. Life is not about -more- money. It's about happiness, challenge, satisfaction. I work in my own vegetable garden because it makes me happy. Not because it's more expensive in the supermarket. I play tennis because I find it challenging. Because I try to win from my friends. And not because I want to become world champion. And indeed: in the time that I'm playing tennis, I could have earned 20 dollars. But what good is that to me?
Could you do a behind the scenes video of what goes into making such videos, big fun from central Kenya, i always watch your videos every morning now. thank you, Elvin.
