  • Hi Friends Happy Monday !
Hope you are having a wonderful day so far. Today I wanted to talk about Jose Luis Calva Zepeda and his whole… mess. There was a language barrier so, some things were a little unclear. Overall though, very sad story and I hope all of the families are at peace and have their closure.
I hope you have a wonderful day today, please be safe out there! Love and appreciate you all so so much.
    xo

As someone that has worked in Criminal Justice and Law Enforcement for the past ten years, YOU ma'am are shedding light on an unspoken truth of where trauma leads people. Trauma is the root of so many crimes and addictions. They were victims, and victims more often than not create more victims. I became your fan because of the back story you do, the trauma you expose. You are awesome.

*Hey Bailey, I think it’s SUPER IMPORTANT that we hear the back stories of how and why these people ended up doing the horrible things that they did. Until we (society) start recognizing that children need to be treated for the traumas they have suffered and REMOVE THEM from these monsters that abuse them, history is going to keep repeating itself! These people are a product of their environments. Maybe is someone has shown them some COMPASSION WHEN IT MATTERED, they wouldn’t have committed these atrocities.*

I don’t know how anyone sees it as a bad thing, it’s better knowing that heinous crimes such as this happen because of equally horrific experiences. I would much rather understand the reason for these things then have a random horrible crimes that make no sense. This is how we prevent this kind of thing.

It's actually quite a common cycle. Abusers often start out as victims themselves. Not all victims turn into abusers (some of them become protective of others instead) but it's a common cycle. ☹️ Edit: it's a way to exert control over others instead of having control exerted over them instead.

If we don’t bother to understand the background of offenders, we can’t know how to prevent tragedies in the future. Believing that you’re siding with the criminal by explaining trauma in their background is the same kind of thinking that has contributed to the United States having the highest incarceration rate in the world.

I haven’t found anyone who had the proper terms, or had the sanity to explain the reality which is that the United States fails it’s people. Like it makes you think how flawed the foster care system is, how social workers are paid poorly and burnt out, how the justice system does not care about people. Like it’s not siding with the criminal it’s showing you how we can avoid this. How we can as community members and understand more. Far too many times people have this “mind my own business” mentality and of course this helps but if you see someone being abused, someone who is in need of help… why be a bystander?!?!?

Bailey has never professed to being some specialist in criminology she just researches the killers upbringing, yes it can be attributed to how the person turns out some turn into killers some turn their life around.
Some killers have a loving wonderful childhood and still become killers .....there is often a person’s background that contributes to the way they behave as adults but not always.
I don’t think it’s up to Bailey to decide which childhood upbringings have cased the resulting adulthood behaviour.

Of course a lot of people go through these same things or worse and don’t end up being the abuser/criminal themselves, but it’s important to call out how these types of things can affect people later on in life. Clearly our country needs to figure out a better way to support these people after abuse or trauma to prevent them from continuing the cycle of abuse.

When looking at the psychology behind it... the childhood can be a HUGE factor in how one devolves. Granted alot do not turn to murderous behavior. However the ones that don't usually have alot of addiction issues. Trauma effects the brain differently from person to person. Alot of infamous people have abuse in childhood and super neglecting parents or other adults in their life... not an excuse. But it sheds light that people need to be kinder.
