In tabletop, Skaven pushing a Screaming Bell become unbreakable.
LOL and also on the tabletop skavenslave leadership went up for each extra rank they had over a certain number.
@@Anvilarm07 Clanrats and stormvermins had that rule too. Strength in Number added +1 Leadership per rank past the first. And if your regiment had more ranks than your opponent then you weren't taking Leadership penalties when rolling the moral checks after the combat phase.

The Screaming Bell has typically been the "holy relic" sort of model for the skaven, and has given leadership effects (the exact nature of which depends on the edition and game version in question). Bells are a big thing for skaven and play a role in their origin story, with the original skaven having supposedly spontaneously evolved from ordinary rats on the thirteenth toll of a great bell-the number 13 is also a big thing symbolically for them, and the sacred number of the Horned Rat.
It's also discribed that the sound of the bell drives all Skaven who hear it in a death frenzy.
The Grey Seer's Bell increases leadership army-wide.

Whenever we got to see the death globes actually shoot something, it did quite a lot of damage. You rarely ever see them but man do they pack a punch !
The management of that skaven frontline was masterful. Never have I seen skavenslaves work so hard!
The plague priest passive plague rash can be activated a lot with blessed with filth and wither being cheap spells and makes a difference over the course of a match for sure

if memory serves the one thing that buffed skaven Leadership was more skaven. Banner of the swarm doubled skaven rank bonus Leadership.

The Skaven had a few ways to buff leadership on the tabletop. However, I never played against Skaven players long enough to find out the details. They always smelled horrible and I had to leave.

I'm very surprised I don't see the Avalanche Mortars being used more in Dom. On a lower mobility army, they would be absolutely devastating on a capture point. Good to see Death Globes getting a run though
You see them in a couple matchups such as vs norsca or nurgle, but it’s just tricky to keep certain real expensive weapon teams like the avalanche mortar alive and can become a bit of a trap to bring them out
Big Investment. They do get destroyed by artillery and pretty tricky to use also in an open map like this when you can get rundown by cav
I don't know how that Skaven player manages such good micro. The other player did really well to keep up but that guy seemed to be watching everywhere a fight was happening.
One thing that helps is he uses a debug camera not available without changing some files. Gives a better view of the field.
Skaven is such a cool race. I especially like all their warpstone tech

Been awhile since I've played against Skaven and I'm too lazy to get up and check the army book but if I recall...
Every rank after the first adds +1 to leadership capped at +3. Mix that with units being able to use generals leadership within range AND a battle standard bearer (BSB) re roll...
Led to skaven being filled with masses of near unbreakable slaves who if they did break would probably do more damage than storm vermin or clanrats could (they caused auto hits, low strength but it was quantity not quality).
Alongside that you'd get the abom bomb (usually double).
Sprinkle in arty and minor flare for style.
Edit: also I consider this battle fluffy.

Maybe the Pug was expecting Doom Flayers? They would kind of make sense vs the unwashed peasant hordes but I'm no expert, just guessing here.

Bret letting both the caster and chieftan live, missed so many opportunities to go take out an exposed zap cannon or catapult, nearly lost their caster on the first engagement, and they still nearly won lol.

Skaven are a lot better than their pick rate would suggest.
The initial engagement was really weird. Reliques balls deep in enemy lines while most of their infantry hadnt moved an inch. Besides that ignoring 2 siege units is always a bad idea..

like someone else said, the screaming bell works for skaven. But generally, they buff their leadership to normal levels by having a lot of ranks in a unit

Wild seeing Death Globes so underwhelming. Before Poison Wind Globes got their insane damage over time effect, Death Globes WERE the anti-infantry kings, but now Poisoned Winds do their job better, cheaper. Here's hoping CA brings them back at some point.

2:18 2x warplightning 3 shot kill reliq they also keep shooting them when they are in melee bc of their height,
2 cannon will literally kill two reliq bf they get to you, takes Max 7 shot, if you got los, also reliq cant kite dodge it effectively.
and 2 cannon vs. bret cav is always good ^^
if reliq gives you problems maybe not bring catapults to do warplightning cannon work ;)
2:54 that's 3 volleys could have been 1 dead reliq. or 3:39 6 shot that's a dead reliq instead of what? 10% dmg to man at arms. honestly even for infantry cannons are better. catapults just looks awesome, but they are only good in very specific situations ^^
4:27 screaming bell. the all time most awesome engine; it buffs skaven in many ways, debuff enemies, dmg enemies, give mapwide effects etc. it was amazing on tabletop... here its... well. its there :P

i most admit though i am a big fan of the astetic of the catapult, damn it looks good and damn I love theses point games as the armies looks much more like actual armies and actual fighting for something so there is a tactic to be had that isn't dependent entirely on magical invisible barriers ^^
The level of Micro these players have is insane, I have to pause alot with chafe units to see whats going on. These two dont seem to be affected by it.

Beasts mage flock of doom would be solid. Cheap caster, and the lore attribute triggers more magic. It’s a massive AOE drain for those slave blobs.
