Bought this gun a few days ago, used it yesterday, am using it again today. This is a quintessential DIY'er tool. With that in mind, it works as it should. Im painting a 12x 10 trellis, 100% "detail" painting. Im spraying a semi-gloss latex straight out of the can, no thinning and it's working great. Have to wipe the tip clean every so often but, that's in the instructions. Everything you need to know is in the instructions. 90% of the issues people have with this product (pretty much any product) is user error. No one takes the time to read the instructions.
Just bought this a few months ago for our bedroom walls and just finished up painting my garage walls using water based paint. Very important to read instructions preparing areas for overspray and cleanup is important so your equipment will last a long time. For a rookie painter I feel I did a great job and pleased with the results.
I think this was a very fair review. You gave good points on both sides and shared what's to be expected, especially when you said it would be effective for people who just want to make quick work of a simple project. I think most people would've wanted to see a demo of the product in action though.
Thanks a ton for that bit about the clog point in that pinhole! I am a rookie paint gun user and I was stumped trying to figure out why mine was not pulling paint. That hole on mine had clogged to the point that I did not know there was a hole there to begin with.
same thing happened to me! that half the reason I made the video is because I had such a hard time getting it to where I wanted it. Im glad you enjoyed it
Thanks! I just bought it for small projects & just washer it out immediately with water! I did use latex & the spray head kept clogging - but cleared quickly! I was happy with the result - just for house projects!
Thank you for this review. Helps a lot with our decision about buying one. And also a heads up to us about that tiny hole. 👌 Sorry about the people clicking dislike on your video. I'm not a you tuber myself but maybe people will like to see your face when you talk. I hope this helps 😁 keep doing honest reviews and people appreciate that. My husband and I watched this video and grateful for your thoughts on this product. Take care and God bless!
Thank you for the reply! I didn't think people cared about my face lol. Wanted to do a close up of the product because I figured that's what people were searching for, but I understand the point. Thank you for taking the time to comment!
Thank you for the video. Just starting to get back into woodworking and diy so I’m trying to figure out what power tools give me the best quality for the price and save me time. I liked that you were not crazy about it and went through the cons well. I think this might be a good option to start.
It is a good sprayer for the money, it just took me a little time to get used to it. If you are looking for a perfect glass finish then it's going to take you some extra work to attain that. For me, it works great for what I want! Thank you for taking the time to comment.
Your explanation is perfect, buying one to limewash my brick - brushed my samples and will say no. Just no. Beautiful result - but at even 46, it would take me weeks! 50/50 Romabio - water and thoroughly mixed I am hoping will accomplish the task, tis like milk. THANK YOU for the insight - super valuable!
Thank you for your review. I would have liked to see a close up of your finished product to see how the paint flowed. I am currently replacing all the builder grade baseboard and door casings in my home to a wide flat faced trim. I want a show room finish. I am using BM Advance paint which is a self leveling but very finicky paint. I had some decent luck using a mohair mini roller but lately something just isn't working and I am beyond frustrated. I am just a homeowner and not a professional. I've decided to give spraying a try for the 2nd time (first time I tried I had a hot mess on my hands). I think I am leaning towards this Wagner because they claim that smaller cup/spray nozzle is for fine finishes. That's why I would have liked to see how your project turned out. You said you got a light orange peel and that is not acceptable for me. But you said you used the larger cup which if I am understanding correctly is just for all general painting purposes. I am wondering if the smaller cup/fine nozzle sprayer will truly give this amateur a factory smooth finish.
This was SO helpful. I bought one almost a year ago on Facebook marketplace and all the guy gave me was the sprayer with the bigger paint holder. I was wanting it to paint furniture. In researching today it seems that’s for stain? I’m gonna throw some paint in it tomorrow and see what happens!? Just curious your thoughts? And experience with the bigger one. I’m a TOTAL newbie 😂
Good video and I find your review and assessment to be spot on. I just bought one of these, and before watching your video, I've already decided to return it. I'm spraying latex primer and paint for cabinets and do find that the nozzle gunks up pretty quickly. It needs fairly constant wiping and cleaning. I had no idea about that little air intake hole though! The thing works well enough I guess for smaller jobs and is easy to use, but I also have some doors and things to do and for me I think this will just be a pain. I have no other sprayer, so will try to upgrade to a higher model graco for my needs. thanks!
Great review! I am thinking to get one as they sell (as of today) $139 at Lowe's. My question is how is tje minimum level of paint of the bigger container? Do you need to fill up at least a half or more? Many thanks for a quick answer
Thank you for telling about the air hole!! OMG I was getting really upset when I couldn't use the damn thing and I just painted door! then it stopped when I changed color went to shutters nothing worked! now I know!
Not sure why some didn't like it. Very honest review. Having said that can you elaborate on the thinning of latex to paint the trim and the sprayer settings. Also did you use floetrol to fix the orande peel issue?
Hi I want to use BEHR premium interior cabinet & trim enamel with the spray fun but the paint says not to thin. Will it still work on the machine or should I still thin it out? Also do you know if this paint is water based? Sorry kinda a newbie at DIY. Thanks for any help you can offer.
When yours stopped spraying was the motor still operating but just no paint coming out? Also did yours get paint inside the motor area? When mine stopped the motor wouldn't even run. And I looked and paint was in the motor cage.
The motor was still working, I just had a clog in the air hole in the uptake tube. However, my motor stopped working TODAY. I looked, and I also had paint in the motor. Looks like I will be returning it for a new one.
Bought one this morning. I wish I had watched this first. I painted one wall. Had to clean it twice. Taking it back to HD tomorrow. It is a piece of crap. It says 5 minute wall on it, it took me over an hour, and several coats of paint. Not impressed with it at all.... for the same price there are much better options.
NO ONE TOLD US THAT IT CAN NOT, CAN NOT, BE USED IN AN EXISTING HOUSE. Once you try to spray a couple of square feet in the basement....YOUR ENTIRE 1ST AND 2ND FLOOR ARE ALREADY DUSTED WITH PAINT EVERYWHERE...EVERY SURFACE...NEVER TO USE IT INDOORS.
It turns liquid paint into an areosole. It's going to become a fine mist. Plastic off any doorways and turn off your air. Open a window and put a box fan in it.
I just ran oil based primer through it and I’d have to say it was a horrible idea I can’t even clean the dam thing now and it spits a lot even with the trigger engaged and then pulled all the way still spits .
i got nothing out of this review other than the little hole gets clogged. where’s the action. too much talking, show how it works so we can be the judge. yack yack yack btw….MDF baseboard? garbage

Amen...I've never had to thin down my latex.Read the Manual...

Just ordered one. This review is very helpful. Thanx a ton, man ! Great job.

I've used my spray painter and Never had to thin down the latex. Never have had a problem. Set it up right and you'll have no problems.

You know the smaller container is for finish work right?
Great information brother. Thanks for doing this.

@@cheapfancyhomerenovations9485 OK thanks. Looks like I might be doing the same
My wife bought me 1 for this Christmas I was wanting to see how good it is
Do you think oil based paints need to be thinned? Painting a built in cabinet I’ve made.
Keep up the great content!
Won't thining the paint weaken the quality of the paint
Can use Stains with Flexio sprayer? Sealing Brick Wall
yes.
We used ours twice and now having trouble with it as we move up to the next project.
Just bought one for my fence.

Similar experience. Worked for a short time, then started spitting paint everywhere.

I expected you to explain how to use the sprayer
You pull the trigger
Everything else is dependent on the material flowing through it.

Denatured alcohol is the best thing I've found. Take it all the way apart and clean every part
Thanks
Geez dude u got me stressed out I wanna bring mine back before I open it
I'm just trying to be honest about it. I've returned 2 so far. On my 3rd one, one my fault one not my fault.
@@cheapfancyhomerenovations9485 yeah man I understand no worries I know you ment well with the video
@@cheapfancyhomerenovations9485 I wanna return mine also but I have overspray on mine I don't know if they would take it back
Yes!
You need to do a spray test on different thickness of paint. On that wagner.
I've done various thickness, I thin down my paint a bit, by about 10%
@@cheapfancyhomerenovations9485 what are you thinning with? Paint noob here
@@ryannair8761 probably paint thinner
This gun is a pos used it today it is slow af!
Your other house?? Alright for some lol..
