- In today's video I straight piped my 2005-2009 s197 Mustang GT. I used BBK's catless downpipes and off-road x-pipe combo to achieve this sound. I love the sound it makes but it is extremely loud so I may end up changing it out at some point for some other sort of exhaust set up. if you have any recommendations be sure to leave them down in the comments below!

I just got a custom straight pipe for my 2004 GT today, no cat back no nothing. Just straight pipe and tips.. and HOLY &%$#!!!! Its LOUD LOUD..
Yea it’s insane. I think I’m gonna get headers and high flow cats just to quiet it down a little bit because a straight pipe is a bit much for me, lol
My 07 GT was the exact same way with the pops and burbles haha I had the same reaction! Just wait till you install long tube headers that’s where the real mean sound comes😈

That was the first mod I did to my 07 gt, but it had slp loudmouth mufflers when I bought it and an airaid intake, but after that it screamed
Any straight piped v8 sounds crazy but something about the 3 valve just hits different, haha

You need to smoke them parking lights, the rear quarter marker lights, and put some raxiom gen 5 sequentials on it. Oh and some o2 spacers to get rid of that check engine light, or a tune. Sounds badass tho !!!

I don’t think you can get the BBK ones anymore but there’s a ton of stuff on eBay. You might try checking there!

When deleting the cats how do I avoid throwing a check engine light?
Some people run O2 sensor spacers to try to trick to computer but ideally you’ll want to get a custom tune for the car

Yea, you can run whatever catback you want. If it has mufflers it technically won’t be straightpiped though

Does the catless down pipe trigger the engine light ?
Yes. You’ll need a tune. I’ve also heard that 02 sensor spacers work but I haven’t worked with those before so I can’t say from experience

It was from BBK but they’re not available anymore due to EPA restrictions. I’m not sure how to get catless stuff these days

You don’t need a tune to drive it but you’ll need a tune to get rid of the check engine light

Yea they did. Apparently it’s kind of hard to find now. I think you can get it on eBay

How did you get the top nut off on the left side above the cat? I cannot get to that one without stripping it
I like using wobbly socket extensions to make I can get the socket completely over the nut

@Kaidan Odom did you have any problems with the engine when you straight piped it?
No, you just get a check engine light if you don't have a tune for it because the rear 02 sensors will read the same value as the front O2 sensors and tell the ECU that the catalytic converters aren't working properly.
@@kaidanodom because i got a 08 mustang gt and i was thinking about cutting the cats off and do a muffler delete but my cousin said that it could mess it up if i straight pipe it
@@keeneth11100 It might not run perfectly without a tune but it can't cause any internal damage to the engine. My car has been straight piped for over a year now

EPA shutdown a ton of off-the-shelf catless exhaust systems. Probably gonna have to make something custom if you wanna go catless nowadays

It’s 4.6, the 5.0 wasn’t put in the s197 mustangs until 2011

The X pipe makes this model sound too raspy and high pitched. Had you gone with the H pipe, it would sound better. Catless h pipe is the best for these cars.

If you just do a cat delete but keep the stock mufflers it won’t be that loud. To be as loud as possible you’d need both
