Dear Sir, I want to express my sincere appreciation to you for imparting knowledge for free on youtube. I have watch series of your tutorials on youtube, they are very helpful. Thank you sir. Please I am having a very serious issue with my research. Part of my research is on Two-Phase Flow Boiling. Unfortunately, i have search through and watch most videos on youtube but i cannot find any ANSYS FLUENT Modelling for Two-Phase Flow Boiling in a vertical pipe of uniform heat flux. The Fluid is Water-Gas flow. As part of my preliminary research, I must learn and know how to model Flow Boiling in a vertical pipe sing ANSYS FLUID FLOW (FLUENT), showing different flow regimes (i.e bubble, slug, churn, annular and wispy annular). Until I learn this, I will not be able to proceed and face the main aim/objectives of my research. Please sir, I will be very grateful if you can help me with the ANSYS FLUID FLOW (FLUENT) Tutorials for Two-Phase Flow Boiling in a Vertical Pipe of a uniform heat flux, showing different flow regimes. The Fluid is Water-Gas flow. If I should understand how to model this, then it will be a better start point for me to tackling my project. Thanking you in anticipation of your kind help. Hi Tanmay, can this model be applied to a free surface condition? For example, scour around a partially submerged bridge pier, where we have air, water, and bed load sediment. Do you have any recommendation for that case.
I modelled a fluid sediment model in a flume with a circular pier at the middle of the flume to observe the scour, but after running simulation for a few minutes, my velocity vector is not moving down ward, it bends around the pierwall which should be but the downward velocity which causes horseshoe vortex is not showing, the vectors will not moving downward after interacting with the pile, what is the reason? Please help me understand
This tutorial is very informative. Please I am running similar simulation on Comsol Multiphysics but having problem of how to build and make the insitu particles or sediments to flow within the geometry. Please do you have some knowledge on Comsol and how to create such particles to flow in the geometry.
Hi, I am trying to simulate Scour around bridge piers in a 3d model. i have followed your tutorial, the only issue i am having is that as soon as the water begins, all the sand flushes away. can you advise me how to simulate water running over the sand, picking up particles and not flushing away the entire bed?
I understand that it has been 6 years but if possible please help me out with a similar problem. I am struggling a lot due to similar problem. I am an undergraduate student and a newbie in CFD
Great tutorial Tanmay. Btw, what does the secondary phase diameter actually represent? I changed the diameter of the secondary phase to a value greater than the diameter of the tube, and surprisingly the secondary phase still flows inside the tube. Could you explain this as we wouldn't expect the s.phase to move in an actual scenario? Any inputs from your side would be very helpful.
Great tutorial Tanmay...I am working on a project in pyrolysis. Can you post any video on that topic. It involves eulerian modelling and it is too tough for a beginner like me to understand.
@@TanmayAgrawal7 i am trying to simulate pyrolysis of coal (lignite). The pyrolysis process is the thermal decomposition of materials at elevated temperatures around 1500K in an inert atmosphere (absence of oxygen or air). The heat is provided via electrical heating. The coal on application of heat will break down into its basic constituents: CO, CO2, Hydrogen, methane. I want to visualize this process. Any guidance from you will be much appreciated.
Thank you! Btw can you have a look at my simulations, i kept on getting reversed flow and i dont know why? I looked at ansyscommunity, people said that reversed flow just disappeared after more iterations, but mine doesnt seem to go away even after 400 iterations
Hi Tanmay, Is it possible to simulate a mixture of microsized particle mixed with water when both enters the domain as a mixture through multiphase model?
Hi sir, I am trying to simulate artificial ripening of fruit, in which ethylene gas is given to fruit in the presence of air. At the time of selection of model in fluent what model I should select (Eulerian or mixture or volume of fluid)???
Sir is it possible to get numerical data of volume fraction of sand at different time interval. I am trying to export data but it is only displaying results when time ends and not at different time.
You have to save data at every timesteps (or every few timesteps). This is done during the setup. In my last video where I simulated a lock exchange flow, I briefly mention it at 16:00. You can select what variables you want to save.
Hello Tanmay, I`m trying to perform simulation of water mixing in stirrered tank. I have some difficulties with the solution because Reynolds number value saying that it is turbulent flow and the error correction always growing to infinity. Can i ask u about some review of my code (C++ and openGL for visualization)? If yes, how can i contact u? With best regards, Yurii.
Hi Yurii, I am sorry but unfortunately I am very busy at this point of time. If it is turbulent flow, then you better stick to the appropriate model for turbulence modelling. I hope that helps. Tanmay
Hi. Very good video. Can you make a tutorial video to simulate the water absorption process (dehumidification) with the use of silica gel in porous medium through Euler-Euler approach? Thank you^*^
Thank you very much. Please let me know if you have succeeded and uploaded on UA-cam. It will be a bit help. For your information, the simulation is concerning about getting the reduced relative humidity properly as the desired output parameter after the water absorption(dehumidification) of silica gel from humid air.
Great video, Mr. Tanmay. Btw, do you have any advice/simulation tutorials of mixing ion-exchange resin (granular particles) and water in a vessel with air? like there are half water and half resin in a vessel, then we mix its with air (blow from the lower of the vessel)? Thank You, God Bless.
Sir can you make a vedio on how to give two different inlet condition in the same geometry with two different fluids my project and regarding fuel injection and then combusting them
Very effective and informative. Thank you. I am doing research in pipe flow. Would like to discuss regarding that. Could you please provide email for further contact.
very clear presentation. thank you so much for taking the effort of making a tutorial starting from the very beginning.

Thank you for sharing. I wonder in the case of 2D simulation, what is the length in spanwise direction used for Sand Volume Fraction calculation?
In any 2D simulation, the span is considered infinite.
thank you
thank you so much.... if the geometry is in 3D same steps can be applied?

Hi, thanks for the very detailed explanation. I’m wondering if you have a tutorial about scour around bridge pier, using Euler multiphase approach.
Why did you calculate Re like this? Isn't it Re=Uh/(2*Nu)?
Sir how to get results of ppm vs time of a gas in air .... Please reply

Hi Tanmay, Is it possible to simulate a mixture of microsized particle mixed with water when both enters the domain as a mixture through multiphase model?
I believe that is possible. Depending on volume fraction of particles, you have to choose the multi-phase model accordingly.
sir can you please tell me about total concentration method for deposition of particles flowing in a channel;
based on this, i'm trying to simulate gas hydrate conditions... can you please help me with that..??

eulerian models each phase independently.VOF is for continuous-continuous models and mixture for discrete-continuous model
How to correct "segmentation fault" while initialising the case?

I am unable to post process it as the sand volume fraction option is not available in the contours.
Are you following the tutorial as it is? Did you make any changes?
@@TanmayAgrawal7 I followed it as it is. The viewable contours consist of sand density and doesn't show Vol Fraction of Sand.
It's strange. Did you not see Sand.volumefraction?
@@AtulAilawadhi Did you find the solution? I have the same issue.
hey how did you create and export the animation of sand volume fraction?
In the animate panel in post (section 5 of what you see in workbench), there is an option to save the video.
there is no option for granular...then i must input it as a fluid in order to patch it inside other fluid..what should i do?
what monitors should i create in this to judge convegence?
Usually the continuity convergence works good enough.
Sir my project is application of phase daigrams in multiphase flow system plz help me sir
was great. i need a multiphase flow using eulre. granular between water and sediment ,if you can. i study scour around pipelines under the water.
Please use the tips in the video. Hope that would help as it is based on a similar situation.

Great video! Does ANSYS capable to simulate much more sediment transport than this tutorial video?
I believe yes.
@@TanmayAgrawal7 Do you think it is capable to model mixed different size sand particles?
I think yes. You can define the distribution.
when should i stop the calculation?
how to judge convergence?
I usually put a restriction on continuity error being greater than 1e-7
@@TanmayAgrawal7 roughly how many numbers of iterations?
I have encountered error (infinite growth of continuity residual value) despite following all the steps, did anyone have the same problem?
Perhaps you can try reducing the time step?
