sir i have question, after initalization popup message said I don't have data and in your video you goes after that file and click data file quantities, that data file quantities are not working in my side, kindly suggest if I am doing mistake.
By doing DPM injection we are putting the solid paricles into the fluid flow analysis. As in CFD analysis we only use the fluid as the working material, there is nowhere we can use the solid as the flow material, so using DPM, we insert the solid particles into the flow. There are many applications of such DPM injections process.like in chemical plant, for pollution testing , waster water analysis, etc.

The contour plots only displays the particle variables (e.g volume fraction of particles to air) for the particles in the Lagrangian frame i.e you can only see the particles which are coloured by what DPM variable you select in the field function. However, I want to map these DPM variables (e.g volume fraction) onto the volume mesh (Eulerian frame).

You then opened CFD post to view it on the contour (Eulerian field). Is it possible for example to write a field function in fluent using this particle velocity, use it for reports/ monitors etc and then viewing this resulting variable in CFD post on the mesh just like you viewed only the particle velocity in the mesh?
on 13.25 when need to click initialize why it pop up current data has not been saved, including solution data and any report files, animation? and data quamtities file cannot be selected?

Explanation: there is cylindrical chamber with inlet at one end and outlet at other. Air is flowing through that chamber. There is one injector which injects vaporized water (steam). First the water flows in liquid form and during injection it changes its state to gaseous.

Actually, I want to simulate a jet stream from orifice geometry(pressure atomizer) with liquid water (multi-phase - vapor) later the jet stream should break into DPM droplets so that I can estimate droplet size. Is there any way where I can couple these two, multi-phase and DPM in Ansys Thank You
Thank you for your video! I have a question, we have similar simulation but a 3D case, when we put time steps 6000 it takes very long for the calculation(approx 2 hours for 20 time steps), so we pause it. Are we doing something wrong? Or it is supposed to be that long? (Our mesh is fine)

hi In CFD-post, only 10 variable is available in contour-geometry. I could not find variable such as air velocity, DPM magnitude, concentration, particle diameter, etc., sometime appears and sometimes not. is here a problem ? Thanks a lot!.
You need to add these in additional quantities while setting in fluent. For this, go to file menu-data file quantities, add the additional quantities, then run the simulation.

After you click on "initialize" you could get the datafile quantities option activated.

go File --> Preferences --> General: Default Format for I/O --> Change it to Legacy --> OK

Add frozen option helps to create two separate entitites. Whereas, "add material" option mix two adjacent bodies into one body.

You can export the particle track history from fluent, no need of any UDF. Go to file menu-export-particle track

In 3D case, the element numbers are more so it would take more time to solve than 2D case.

We solved it by taking 1 time steps with 6000 max iterations per step. We just needed the animation

Yes, this procedure should be used for nanofluid injections.
