I am a big fan of Subaru Outback. When I lived in Silicon Valley, CA in the US, I found that many Subaru Outback around my house, even though it doesn't snow there at all and they don't need real AWD capabilities. Perhaps most common cars are Tesla Model 3 and Y and Subaru Outback around San Jose area. I don't now why Outback is so popular there, but I heard that they did marketing for lesbian and it worked. Not sure. Sadly Subaru decided to discontinue Outback in Japan anymore, so they will focus on the US market more.
If cars becomes completely autonomous then the total amount of cars will shrink. The ones who owns one will also be an uber (driver/owner) since the car can be registered and will go pick up a customer on it's own. It makes much more sense to the owner with the car generating cash then collecting dust sitting idle in a parking lot. The who don't own one simply calls one to pick them up.
