I spent so much time on Reddit trying to find places to go, things to do, and tips to keep in mind when visiting certain places and I realized there were no videos out there to talk about it, especially for car enthusiasts! So here are my thoughts and if you have any tips for others watching, drop em below! Don't forget to subscribe if you enjoy us going around the world to experience car culture! It'd mean the world
Lots of good points in this guide - particularly about the Suica card, it's absolutely vital for Japan life! If you're an iPhone user you can also set one up on your phone which is a bit more convenient. Also recommend also having a power bank with you - using maps, Google translate, taking photos etc throughout the day can use up the battery fairly quickly. If you rent a car and are around Tokyo then also check out Hakone Turnpike on the weekend and Up Garage Machida to hunt for parts 😁
Totally on the shoes thing and Russian doll with the bags. I wore cross trainers on my first trip and my feet were ruined over the course of it. Now I go in all black dad shoe level Asics WALKING shoes with those thick hiking Darn Tough socks. Feet still hurt, but nothing like that first trip. But not having blisters is worth it on its own. Great vid.
Appreciate that! Yeah, walking around in Japan is a different level; especially when you start to realize there is a much lower expectation for public seating in places.
Everything you said was on point, but I would change one thing. I rented a car from Tokyo to get to Fukushima for Ebisu Circuit, The drive up you've got multiple extremely epic places to visit like Tsukuba Circuit and my Favourite place Motegi Mobility Resort with the Honda Museum in it, There are Ayrton Senna's cars and Max Verstappen's car too including a lot more iconic cars which i noticed not many people know about. Then after Going to Ebisu on your way back to Tokyo you can stop by Nikko Circuit which usually has multiple drift days. The above was the highlight of my whole trip in Japan. Also if renting a car in Osaka, visiting Meihan Sportsland is another must. And Mazda Museum in Hiroshima if visiting there too.
As a car guy that already has been to Japan, my advice is: Don't just do car stuff! You'll learn to appreciate the Japanese scene even more by getting to know the culture/society it is from. Go to the shrines, play games in the game centres, wander around aimlessly... it is worth it.
You should really tap in with more local circles, also the Honda shops are not walking distance from eachother. Seeing the sunrise is so base, thats zen and Japanese culture is generally in being present and appreciating everything for what it is. Glad you got to enjoy and even participate it in that, come back soon!
Iphone users can get Suica app. No need to buy card. 2weeks is min recomandation. Hotel night prices... never paid over $60 per night. Osaka/Nagoya/Fukuoka area.
I tried to get Suica App set up but there was so many "maintenance downtimes" for the app when I was trying to register I just gave up and got a card, haha.
Perfect timing! I'll be going to Japan for 3 weeks in 2026. Got a question for anyone here. If I were to purchase big bulky car parts and want to ship them out back to the states at the lowest expense?
@AlexMartini. yeah I met a dude at A-Pit that told me about it. Gaijin Tuned met with us in the "electric town" starts with an A; then took us to the parking lot at A-Pit, tour Tokyo, Daikoku and then Tokyo tower before dropping us off at our hotel.

Always baffeling to me when Americans mention issues with walking and their feet. Do you guys not walk around at home a lot?
Recently discovered the channel and I'm obsessed! Such good content! Thank you algorithm! Much love from this Midwestern michigan native
Love hearing that! Hope to see you around more in the comments!

Bro ty for this, really trying to get over there in the next few years and this has helped WAY more than just random internet searches
That was my goal! I hope you get out there and when you do, let me know!
That hair says I just woke up from a trip
I do what I can; haha

Great video! 👏🏼
Japan is a beautiful country! 🇯🇵
Great video! Cant wait to see the next one!
Needed this video ✅ thanks
You're welcome!
absolutely, positively, do not put your calls on speakerphone. it is highly inconsiderate to others.
And don‘t have phone calls on public transport in general
Wonder who would do this
Or listen to Tiktok's. Pls god don't do this.
The onsen is so worth it. Nothing beats relaxing in a hot tub after walking 15 miles a day for a week straight.
Thanks for the video
Glad you liked it! Thanks for dropping a comment!
Interesting video. I did not know it could be that cheap to travel there.
It’s a LOT more affordable than you’d think!

The shrines and Mt. Inari were my favorite times with B. Absolutely love this tip!

I'll be there in January for TAS! Any recommendations then? :)
One important tip is always have your passport on you when you go retail shopping (A pit autobacs etc) because your purchase will be TAX FREE 😉
Airalo was the eSIM I used! Data only, but was still able to use FaceTime video and audio , iMessage
7-11 was definitely the place for food when you're on thr move
And it's so GOOD! right?!
@AlexMartini. being from MN I never even stepped into a 7-11 until I got to Japan and it was awesome!
My tip: carry your own tissues and garbage bags.

I just sent this to my friend, I think he goes in a few weeks
Aye, means the world!
Family Mart is the best conbini 🗿

Yay
If you don't get an international license and want to see Daikoku, you can get into a tour guide with Gaijin Tuned
Good tip! I know Albo is running something similar right now too (might be the same brand; not sure.)

Would definitely not go with them, just read some of their 1 star reviews 😂
