    Dude still responding to comments a few months ago on a video two years old. Love that. Also, I came here thinking, I'm really happy with my LCD-X. I wonder if there's anything similar that takes things to the next level. Then I hear "this is a perfected LCD-X. It's so far ahead of it it's not even funny." So I am now STOKED about hearing my V2s which arrive in a few days. Got a stonking deal on them on ebay.
    Even without all that, this was a really enjoyable style of review. Subbed instantly, dude. More please.

      @@ConvinceMeAudio not sure if you'll see this comment...so I got an incredible deal on a Burson Conductor 3 Reference amp/dac, as well as the Diana V2. A local dealer has offered a stunning deal on an XI Audio Formula S. Now, I don't *need* one. But would you recommend it for pairing with the Burson? Should I expect much improvement in comparison to the Burson?

    This is a great video man. You got yourself a sub.
    I've been going back and forth between buying the V2 and the Meze. I listen to a lot of metal, EDM, and Jazz, so this headphone seems perfect. I am definitely a basshead, but I have a feeling the V2 will still provide enough bass for me.

      @@andrewkateb it’s a start, the few takeaways are
      These are source dependent, they scale up, and they will grow with you, as your chain grows
      But that set up will get you a little way into the performance of the headphones, by no means will it be the higher end of the headphones performance
      But it’s OK that can come later right, unless you have none of these things, and you were looking at them to purchase, and if that’s the case, give me a price point, and I’ll point you somewhere else

    I'm choosing right now between these and Verite opens on ebay, with Tungstens on the way in a few months. Listen to all sorts so I'm torn, but with the Tungstens and Ayra Steaths, the Verite might be a good opposiing sound. But I love the lightness of these.

    Great review, nice work. I have a pair of these as well and your description very closely aligns with my experience. I’m a bit of a bass head so I needed to add a bass shelf using eq in order to love these. I’m running them off a Sennheiser HDV820 and have been wondering if I’d see much improvement from a Topping A90/D90 stack. I’m curious to hear your thoughts.

      Welcome to the fam
      Glad you enjoyed the review.
      The HTVD is a high impedance amplifier, it works with some planar headphones like absolute magic, where it shouldn’t, because it was designed for high impedance headphones, but the thing is I can immediately tell you will be a downgrade from the HDVD will be the following
      Imaging staging and the organic nature
      You will probably get more of a good technical speed in regards to the bass region on the a 90
      Also the A90 will provide a much more colder tonality this could either be a detriment or a benefit depending on your preference to some people it could sound a little dry
      But with a D90SE it’s been really good it would be a different experience to the HDVD and I have a feeling you would probably go from one to the other and back again depending on your mood

    Wow, it almost makes me want to try them. I did try the 1266 next to the Susvara and while 1266 was very detailed, it lacked the Susvara's passion. I also wonder how well these would Tube. Sus and VC are better on Tubes, even the 1266 does better on Tubes.

      When we are looking at a summit tear headphones
      The cost of the headphones themselves is just a start, you need a DAC and amplifier of similar performance to get the best out of it, always ending up being a 10 to 15 K chain

    Hi. I’m thinking of getting these headphones. What did you say that you did to the topping a90 to make it sound better?

    • @ConvinceMeAudio
      @ConvinceMeAudio  Рік тому

      The fundamental problem with the a 90 is its volume pot
      But I don’t recommend in my video taking this route of using a gold point stepped attenuator adding an extra £500 to the price point of that amplifier
      Because things have changed a lot this video is quite old and there are new units on the market I believe topping addressed this issue themselves with the latest version of the a90 with a much better potentiometer,

    Subbed off this vid. I was debating these or the Empyrean but have heard the Empyrean have issues with detail. These seem like the sweet spot.

    • @ConvinceMeAudio
      @ConvinceMeAudio  2 роки тому +1

      Quite honestly I would have a very difficult time choosing between these two headphones probably two of my favourite headphones of all time alongside susvara
      The tonality and total balance of these is remarkable but the imaging staging and base impact of EMP why is extraordinary. Using the right amplifier, but either way you honestly can’t go wrong
      If you were to ask me? You would still be waiting for an answer 24 hours later whilst I was sitting there arguing with myself

    Hi this is one of the headphones im considering as an upgrade in the future to my setup, it may not compare at all, but as a reference for me, which headphone from lower tier flagships would this sound signature be most similar to if at all compared to things like focal clear og/mg, arya, lcd x hd 800 which i have heard

    • @ConvinceMeAudio
      @ConvinceMeAudio  2 роки тому +1

      It’s very different to all of those, but within the same ballpark or the same county LOL, maybe the clear OG it’s a dog sound signature slightly warm depending on your chain little bit laid-back and beautiful

    For Hip-Hop and R&B, which headphone would you recommend: Diana V2 or Focal Stellia?

  • @inn3B
    @inn3B 3 місяці тому

    Does the outstanding performance of the Abyss models with electronic music apply to all Dianas? In other reviews, the Diana always had the reputation of being a "bass monster". Would you subscribe to that? Would the Diana be a good counterpart to the Susvara especially for electronic music or are both models rather similar in sound?

    • @ConvinceMeAudio
      @ConvinceMeAudio  3 місяці тому

      Very, very different in sound characteristics but yes they are excellent for electronic music the MR, or the TC which is a little bit more spicy would do a nice job without adout
      The problem with SUS is you need the proper chain to really get the best out of it and get the best out of electronic music with it. These are far easier to deal with.

    • @inn3B

      @@ConvinceMeAudio Thank you very much! My Bliss actually has enough power for the Susvara, but in my opinion the Susvara is fundamentally not made for electronic music. That's why a Diana would be a good addition. Thank you and have a nice weekend!

    What exactly is that supplementary padding on the headband? I guess it was glued there by the previous owner.

    • @ConvinceMeAudio
      @ConvinceMeAudio  2 роки тому

      That is the DMS mod, makes the headband ultra comfortable and blends in perfectly
      You do not want to use these headphones without that mud it’s just a hard piece of leather otherwise

    • @Glokta
      @Glokta 2 роки тому

      @@ConvinceMeAudio That's not it, the DMS mod was about changing the earpads a bit, opening them and shaving off a few mm of foam from the top.
