- How to Manually Tune your S19 to Optimize Overclock
In this video, we are using Vnish firmware to fine tune a S19j Pro to optimize the over clock. Manual tuning can be extremely beneficial in getting the most out of your overclock as the firmware gives you tremendous control over the tuning the process.
Vnish is supported on the T19, S19, S19 Pro, S19j, and S19j Pro. Models not yet supported by firmware include S19a and S19 models with the AM logic board.

very nice explanation... many thanks... ✌
just one thing..
if overclock 400W makes much more effort to the power supply?
even on cooling....
have to change anything? or 400w is confortable to stay with stock fans?
Great content! 🎉
Ya, looks pretty cool. Wish i had a asic to try o....wait, i have a brand new bitmain s19a pro that arrived with. " i assume," with the extensive troubleshooting i've been going through that, it's the board. Did i mention it's my first asic... quite disapointed i tell ya. Now the HUNT begins for parts.
Great video! Once you have tuned down all of the yellow/red chips what comes next? Slight increase on all of the correctly functioning chips?
Yep. It will boost your hash rate and efficiency.
thanks for this video. just have question . can i need change power supplier to overclock . or can i run max overclock wirh original power supplier
The max overclock you should do it is whatever your power supply is rated for
For overclocking. I set my disable to 14 V and the voltage per boards settles at 13.8-13.9. Even when I set global voltage at 14.2 the voltage after 10 minutes will settle to 13.8-13.9V(at initial turn on it will be a 14.0-13.9 for a few minutes). Using the 135 preset the voltage holds from 14.0-13.90. Temps are always under 73 C. This is 1.1.3 version. Any suggestion to get a higher stable voltage close to the global setting would be appreciated.
Do you have a modded PSU? If not your miner will only be able to handle at most 4kw and a good setting would probably be around 13.6v
@@kaboomracks Yes have the modded psu
@@tortillaqq1651 When tuning we like to crank it 0.25v increments to see how the chips handle it from a starting point of around 13.5 and go up to around 14.5 at the highest.
While cranking up the voltage, we also crank the MHz in increments of 25-50. If it's flatlining, try to focus on increasing MHz
@@kaboomracks Thanks for the help! Got it working great. By the way to everyone looking for a miner, I purchased from kaboom and got the PSU mod too. It was fast and imo the best priced in USA. Highly recommended.
Great video! Tuning my s19j pro 100 ths and up at 580mhz at 13.65v works ok slight downclocking on some chips.. But no matter what i do if i go over to 585mhz i start getting high rejected shares and my hashrate at pool decrease.. Any ideas or suggestions? i tried 585 at 13.75v didnt help
Which version of the firmware are you running? And update and or hard reset may help
@@kaboomracks latest version, haven't tried a hard reset. I'm starting to get it very stable at 13.65v with global frequency of 580mhz with some chips lower
What about UNDER clocking? Like, for longevity and when it's hotter outside and the miners aren't inside with controlled AC. Would love to get some thoughts on that and just how to do it effectively. Are there any cons to underclocking besides just lower hash rate? Risks?
Currently, we're focused on making machines last and pulling less power when it's hot out
Underclocking is the same concept. You will lower the voltage and tune the frequency as well. There will be a point where you clock too low and the chips won't respond well to that. I'm not sure when that will begin but will probably be pretty low. You will see some efficiency gains from underclocking.
@@kaboomracks Do you HAVE to change the frequency with the voltage or is the goal in underclocking to get the lowest voltage with the highest frequency?
In other words do they both have to come down to use less power and be efficient ?
Thanks!
@@plainvi3wmining422 yeah you have to change both. You will decrease the frequency as you decrease the voltage
Is this the new S19 95T
Are yellow ones okay? Shouldn't you fine tune every chip down so there is no yellow at all? That's how I do mine at least. I get about 127.5TH at 3.5-3.7kW depending on the temperature outside. If they were indoors I'd probably pull 4-4.2 at room temps.
Yep the goal is to get them all functioning at the highest performance possible. Every machine will vary in how you tune it because the chips/boards will have some slight variance in performance. Sounds like you're doing great with your tuning!
On S19J? Or pro
@@sanjeev9005 the S19 pro
A video showing how to tune whatsminers?
Yeah that would be great. The problem is there is not any public firmware out there to overclock and do stuff on them. There are some people out there working on it and as soon as it's out, we'll do videos on it.
Are Vnish and ASIC.to white labels or something. They are the same what’s going on here?
Vnish is the name of the firmware and is distributed by asic.to
Does it charge a hash fee?
The dev fee is 3%
@@kaboomracks i don’t see how this is a good idea. Getting a 10% increase in hashrate at the cost of 20-30% decrease in efficiency (paying extra for electricity) plus having to pay 3% dev fee?
It depends on what you want to do. All aftermarket firmware has a dev fee that is similar. If you are in immersion, this is a no brainer because you can exponentially increase your hash rate at a better efficiency than air. We have clients running 104TH S19j pros at 160TH with 5kw power consumption. That's 31 w/TH. A lot of people value overclocking with this firmware because they can meet certain power consumption and hash rate goals while deploying less equipment which lowers the upfront cost and can shorten ROI. For some people, using the firmware may not make sense but a good amount of our customers are finding it valuable.
@@kaboomracks isn’t vnish 2.8%?
What are the fees to use VNISH?
