Looking forward to more immersion cooling setups. DCX seems to have a pretty legit plug and play setup, however I haven't seen any videos other than the ones where the company shows it in use. Would be cool if you could get your hands on that setup and show us all if its really worth it!

Dude you're killing it with this channel and covering all the things I wanted to cover in the same type of channel. It's kind of a niche audience but I love it. Power was a big subject I wanted to cover and maybe one thing you forgot is load balancing on 120v. Most people I know running a couple GPUs don't understand you really need to balance that 120v so you're not sending crazy amounts to neutral. Keep up the great work my friend!
Yeah - I initially had it in the scrypt how we live in houses that were designed before a lot of the things we used even existed.. I live in a house from the 60's which didnt know it needed to balance a microwave and toaster oven into the kitchen, god forbid if my GPU rig landed on the same 120 leg. I should have left it in, youre right I dont think about 95% of miners even consider that.

Great info, and I like the concise and fast-paced editing style. Here in Northern IN after multitudes of taxes, fees, and every surcharge you can imagine, I pay about $0.17/kWh.
Ooof... GPU mining still makes sense, but Bitcoin might not.. Those Musk Miner boys need to speed up that hosting facility.
I paid about $0.46/kWh last month here in the Netherlands.. That was just last month, before the Ukraine situation. Prices are expected to rise 50% once more.

Another really useful tool is getting a smart energy monitor, I use the Emporia Vue V2. I can track real time what I'm using via their app, and it helps with dividing up business vs personal expenses when it comes to monthly electrical cost. Plus, it gives you a csv record of everything if ever there's a dispute with the electric company or you get audited for your tax deductions.

Worth mentioning l6-30p is the 30 amp socket and l6-20p is the 20 amp version. Im not sure how different they are but I ran 1 l6-30p with a 30 amp breaker for each of my miners on individual 30 amp PDU. This way I could split a future third miner half on one pdu and half on the other with out running additional infrastructure. I have space to run more but I figure the less PDU's the less cost I have. I really like the 30amp PDU from Nerdgearz when they are in stock the unmetered one goes for 150 and is not super long and unwieldy like my 5 foot long triplite.
Thats a good way to go, getting three machines out of two L6-30 outlets! Ive abandoned PDUs and now I just wire straight into my breaker box.. Itll never pass inspection, but it saves money!

I have all the math figured about about the electrical usage and have an industrial property. Now I’m realizing that I don’t have any 240 volt outlets. For 100 will I need more breakers or just install a few outlets?

Well, not an app, but I leave an entire windows computer in the room with them, connected to the same network so I can ‘chrome remote desktop’ into it and it can look at their stats.
That computer USED to mine ethereum as well to make itself useful, but now it just has a massively oversized GPU for the work it performs.

Yep, you don’t need a PDU at all for a single miner on a 208v plug. You can plug straight in and split it.

I'm confused, do you not need a pdu as a safety measure to power your miner i.e. as a surge protector?
I have a surge protector built in to my breaker panel. But these miners are pretty hardy, accepting voltage all the way from 200 to 250 volts so fluctuations won’t damage anything. Sudden huge surges should be protected against, yes.

Do you mean run one power line from the wall split into two cables that plug into the miner? That will work completely fine!

Can you mine intermittently for example one hour yes and the next no? In the hour you mine, is it sure you are gonna mine something or you have to try to run the ASIC 24/7 to randomly get some btc in some hours an nothing in others?
Any time there is power to the ASIC it will start mining. So yes you could set something like that up with like an electric timer just to cut the power.
If you mine to a pool, which is what normally happens, then you’ll be paid out for the amount of time your miner puts in, wether it finds a block or not so also yes!

A single ASIC mining engine burns 5.5 KILOWATTS. There are entire power plants even hydro-plants completely full of ASICs and offline. The rolling blackouts in CA and TX are from BTC mining warehouses!
I’d believe that about Texas, but california electric rates are so high you lose money mining there. Probably not happening there.

Because the solar panels on my house produce something like 20kwh per day, but six S19’s will pull 18kwh per HOUR.

Well in my case I had space in the breaker box so I bought a 30amp 240v breaker and just ran two lines out of that straight into a C13 plug. Cost me like $20?

WOW!!! Cheap electricity! No, you do not need to convert the power. It will run on 220v. It will run anywere from 200-240v
