Very nice! Thanks! I've been dying to figure out these chords. I've been playing for years, but I have a very hard time picking out chords by ear unless they are fairly simple.
Thanks, I've loved this song since I was a kid hearing it on AM radio. I still remember my Dad hearing the yodeling and saying: "What the hell is this?" I was laughing and jamming out to this at the same time.
It's a little confusing calling the "hendrix" chord +9 because it's in fact #9 - as in sharp nine. For people who don't really understand theory and they want to - 9 note is when you go whole scale around and start again from root like 8, second like 9, etc.. in the case of hendrix chord e7#9 the ninth is f# but we sharp it again and get the G note we are playing in this chord. (maybe i don't get it- sorry if thats the case) Great lesson, thanks!
Thank you! What about a 12th fret version of that E7add10b ? (so you can get that high B - but avoiding the bottom-string high E) (But after the power chords, I do prefer the lower [7th fret] E7addFlattened10.)
Nice playing and your acoustic sounds nice, but you're using alternating strums-Jan Akkerman virtually ALWAYS uses downstrums on this tune unless he's playing it at such a fast tempo that it's not possible. The A drone and chords are correct however, play DOWNSTRUMS so that the plectrum attacks the guitar more rapidly and urgently-remember: this riff is meant to be as exciting as possible...
Thank you. I find your style of teaching excellent. I've bought some of your lessons and they are superb and accurate.

I just love Jan Akkerman. Thanks for this great lesson Neil
Thanks for the video, gonna practice the crap out of this song. Perfect for getting better at playing.

I did this song at an acoustic guitar Open Mike night once.
I figured out the yodeling parts on guitar.
It bugged people out!
super, merci.
Great lesson! Thanks for posting this. Any chance you could give us "Sylvia" from Focus? I think I might have a better shot at that one. ;)

Sounds right, better than any tabs. E7+9 is a killer. Add joddling and we're in business.
Thank you!

thank you for this. chords are correct
On E7+9 do you hit the A sharp and the D sharp on the 5th and 6th strings or, are you just deadening the A sharp? Thanks, Giffy6
Thank you!

I think i've heard this rendition while staying at the Hyatt. It was while riding the elevator.
