Thanks for the review! How do you feel about the quality of incoming audio in phone calls? I bought these and returned because the incoming voice was all over the place jumping from center to really wide stereo stage. None of my previous TW bids have had that issue.
Is it possible that you are referring to the voice call sidetone feature that engages when you take a call? This feeds in sound from the surroundings during a voice call as some customers feel this is more natural. This feature can be disabled in the Smart Control app.
Haha I'm using all sorts of things. Momentum TW2 / WF1000XM3 as my out and about earphones. Cowon Plenue R2/ Cayin N3 Pro for DAP/transport. For headphones at home, T1 Gen 3 (DT1990 pads) are daily drivers.
I've owned both one and two. The One had the battery issue and would discharge completely in 2 to 3 days without any use. The Two's battery lasts me for a week using them every day. The sound quality on the Two is excellent but as said in the video I wish the ANC was better. I think Sennheiser should have recalled any units that had the battery issue. Having to keep them plugged in charging all the time so they're not dead when you'd want to use them was a rather shit experience.
I'm pretty sure the battery issue wasn't a fault but I design flaw. The earbuds don't turn off fully when you put them in the case so they are not slow to turn on again when you take them out. However due to this they constantly draw current from the battery pack until both the battery pack and the earbuds are flat. Sennheiser customer service even admitted there was an issue and added a button in the app to fully turn the earbuds off. But who wants to go into the app every time they put their earbuds away.
They still look very large in size on the ear. My biggest fear is that they will not stay snug fitted the ears.I used the Momentum cable version for years and the rubber adapters which came with the earphones were not exactly perfect. Do these truly stay in the ears as if thee fit is not perfect, the sound quality will not be on par with Sony or Jabra or even the Bose and B&O versions. This is an area which really needs to be reviewed in more detail. Something most reviewers do not get into. Spending so much on earphones only to find you are missing detail in the music you love is a a sure way to waste money. As we all have different ear shapes, it should be an issue to be mentioned. Stores will not just refund money so easily.
Omfg are you Lachlan from Lachlan likes a thing? I just randomly stumbled upon this channel btw. You were my go to guy for expert headphone reviews years ago. Damn time flies.
the fit isn't great. requires a lot of fiddling with them in your ears. if the fit isn't perfect, the sound quality is crap. But once you've got the seal correct, the sound is amazing.
I wondered if they improved the fit. I have the first one and my biggest issue was the fiddling everytime to get the perfect sound. Guess I have to wait for 3rd version to see if they change the shape... I'm using the galaxy buds+ Once you stick them in they hold perfect. But I cant undo the sound, once you hear sennheiser quality you can never go back xD
No it’s not better. Sound is the same. Battery is ever slightly better. Useless NR. But at that point everything else is just worth. A lot of disconnects left from right. Audible hiss. Delays on audio. No apt hd. Right now I’m thinking about selling 2nd and buy 1st instead.
@Vagabond it's not defective. It's as good as 1st edition was. Battery drain was an issue for the 1st version INSIDE the charging case. They DID sacrifice other aspects. Read my comment AGAIN. Hiss, Delay, lack of HD, and LL codecs... not a single time I was able to listen to my 2nd version for longer than 4 hours.
Got these for 150 dollars used but the buyer looked like some that is clean and that takes care of his stuff, and they work amazing

Hey Lachlan! Since you mentioned that you own these, I was wondering what your current setup is (DAP, IEM/headphone).

Yo what's the appalled can u add it to the description
Which one has a better sound quality, the Sennheiser TW2 or the Sony WF-1000XM3?
The Sennheisers although the Sony's are good too. I have both and the sound is slightly better and more multi-dimensional on the Sennies.
@@JamesBCCC I 2nd this, best sounding earbuds for me to date.
Good morning I know it's off topic but what do you think about the Sennheiser momentum 3 overears they're $349 and sometimes $305 on Amazon!

@@mahmoudgalal4975 the 2nd version came 1 1/2 year later. So if the cycle continues the new model should be out oct/nov 2021
a guy from senn told me these have the same drivers as the ie800s
Well they dont sound as good to my ears
Funny I just bought the CX400 BT and to my ears they sound very similar (not exactly the same) to the IE800s.
