Thanks so much for these videos. Looking forward to more plein air adventures! Looks like there' so many awesome spots to paint in London. Also didn't know they had Nature Valley granola bars there :)
Thanks for watching!! I knew I would get questions about the checklist. :) It's actually Nate's list of reminders he put on there years ago, so I'll let him answer the question!
Thanks so much Mike!! You've been our biggest motivator to finally get our butts in gear making videos. Thanks for all of the inspiration, your videos are the BEST. Miss you too!!
Lindsey - you're the reason i started painting!! I found your work years ago - I was totally blown away and now on my 3rd year as an artist :) thank you for creating this youtube channel - im soo excited!
Are you serious?!! Amazing!!! That's incredible to hear, thanks so much for the kind words. I'm so happy I could send some inspiration your way. Thanks for subscribing, we'll be posting more soon! :)
Hey guys! Great demo, thanks so much for that inspiration, and the reminder to 'brush off the cobwebs' and 'just do it'. :-). NIKES or not. lol. Much appreciated. Holler if you head back our way (though really, you're so much better off!!!!) as you can see ... BBC news is great. Lindsey, you've been the best shot in the arm I've had for decades... and changed the way I see and do my painting. Plus, I met YULIA!!! and we have stayed in touch... she's finished her degree, and.... I'm crawling through. Shoulda coulda woulda... Hey, speaking of that, happy almost anniversary... I'm an October birthday as well. Stay safe and keep posting. Warmly, Kristin
Hey Kristen, it's always so wonderful to hear from you! I'm so happy you liked our first vid, we're trying to keep them breezy for now. It's been alot of fun to just pal around and film our days. Thankfully Nate knows how to edit, otherwise if it was up to me it would just be clip after clip of puppies I pass on the street, cats in windows, and slow-mo shots of snails. :) But honestly thanks for the kind words, I'm SO happy we had a chance to meet and be a part of eachother's journey. Hopefully one day, we'll get a chance to paint together again! And Happy almost anniversary to you too!! Congrats to us for sticking it out one more year, even with the shit show that 2020 has become. :) Stay safe, and keep painting! - Lindsey
Thanks Lindsey and Mark, really good to see you both here! I love the paintings you did, just capturing a scene, a time of day, not overworked or fussy. I'm looking forward to your next videos!
Thanks so much Anita, we appreciate the kind words!! It's been so much fun to have a whole new reason to get out and paint. We'll be uploading a new one soon, so we'll keep you posted! :)
Wow. Love your video. I have just started plein air painting with oils and have made a few videos on my channel. You have inspired me to keep going thank you.
What a great little painting. Amazing. Loving watching you guys paint the city I called home for 6 years. You should head up to the Lake District for some amazing landscape scenes, there are more incredible possibilities up here than you'd have time to paint. I'd love to see how you see it too.
You are living the dream! This video is a great start for your travel/painting series. So innovative! I see tremendous success on your road going forward! (perhaps you will travel and paint in many countries???) I'm so happy for you both. Cheers!
Awe, thanks Carole!! It's been alot of fun to have a whole new reason to get out and paint. We've been inching our way back into society slowly, so I hope we get to start traveling more! That's the plan at least, so we'll cross our fingers and see how it goes. :)
super interesting seeing the two different stlyes, loved the warmth and colours lindsey put in but also loved nates more natural subdued green's cant decide which i prefer!
Always enjoy watching your paintings progress and they always turn out great. Can I ask what the notes are at the bottom of Lindsay's pochade? Reminders, tips, etc?
Fantastic to see you paint live after admiring online images of your work for ages. I noticed you had some notes printed on your palette, are these reminders? Can you hint at what they are? Keep em coming!
Thanks Hayley! I can't believe it's taken me this long to start making videos! It just seemed like so much work, but it's been alot of fun. And about the little reminders, it's actually Nate's checklist he made years ago, so I'll leave it up to him to share his secrets! :)
Hi Lindsey, would you mind telling us what are the notes you have written to yourself on your easel as you paint? Thank you and Nate so much for all of your great videos. Love them!!!
just subscribed, and had seen your post on ig.. i love your work( both of you .. i've been following for awhile on ig I'm Norakag there .. thanks for being inspiring , as always.. thanks for the videos , too 👍👍 norakag
Love watching you guys. Can I ask what color do you use to sketch out your painting and also, do you use a fast drying medium at all? I love the way you use the palette knife. I need to try that.
Lindsey, thank you guys for sharing. May I ask what kind of palette knife you’re using at 4:20? It’s hard to really tell but it looks like it has sort of jagged edges? I love the way you use it to make the textured grass marks.
Thanks brother, your music is PERFECT btw!! It's the exact vibe we were going for, and same goes for your new tracks as well! I'm so psyched we get to spread your kickass tunes around, thanks for putting the time into making us look cool!! :)
@@michaelbuchanan3212 Thanks Michael! I use a little bit of everything, but palette knife is definitely my go-to tool for plein air painting. It gets the paint on quick and with lots of organic texture which helps me achieve a bit of detail without having to actually paint the detail. But each palette knife has it's own level of control, so they definitely take practice. But it's alot of fun!
That’s a really good question. Honestly I am not sure. I think it’s representational realism, but also a bit impressionist. There probably is a name for it that I’m not aware of
Love your work. Thanks for sharing.
Lindsey and Nate really enjoy watching you paint nature.
Thanks!

I really enjoy watching you both painting! Thank you!
Thanks!
Fun to watch. Thanks for posting. Intrigued by Linsey's checklist on her easel. Would love to see a closeup or explanation next time around. Cheers
Thanks for watching!! I knew I would get questions about the checklist. :) It's actually Nate's list of reminders he put on there years ago, so I'll let him answer the question!

Thanks for posting, guys. The paintings are lovely and inspiring. "It was a beautiful day and I had fun. So..." Yep. Good reminder to enjoy the ride.
Thanks Margret!! We appreciate the kind words! And yep, he pretty much summed it up right there. :)
beautiful paintings guys - thanks for sharing your day in the park! more please =)
Thanks so much Jon!!
What a great result! I liked both of them. Different styles but good subjects.
Thanks Lindsey and Mark, really good to see you both here! I love the paintings you did, just capturing a scene, a time of day, not overworked or fussy. I'm looking forward to your next videos!
Wow Mark. That’s interesting I’ve never heard Nate pronounced that way. 🤔

Fun to see you guys out and painting! You’re both so accomplished. I’d say you’re a Plein air power couple 😁 for sure.
Thanks so much Kim!! We like to pretend that we are sometimes at least. :)

Ditto loved it!
Always enjoy watching your paintings progress and they always turn out great. Can I ask what the notes are at the bottom of Lindsay's pochade? Reminders, tips, etc?
Thanks! Yeah the notes on the easel are just notes/things to think about when painting outside.

Nate, may I ask about brand name or where to obtain your panel holder, it seems very lightweight & effective? You both really paint well!
We have a Raymar wet panel carrier. It’s very lightweight and we love it. This one is a 11x14 panel holder.
Мне нравиться ваш подход к живописи и 2 ваши работы
Thanks for posting, really inspiring work. But Lindsey I was intrigued by the typed notes you had on your easel. Care to share what they are?

I see you referred to Strada, but Day Tripper Easel is what you are using. Jeanne
Yes we have the Strada and Daytripper easel. Love them both!
Lindsey... Do you use brushes?
Now I see brush at 5:29... Still it is so cool to see you using palette knife.

Also a very safe place for solo female travelers. You don’t have to worry about Dick Blick’s.
Your strata is a bit loose.
