He puts his entire body and soul into every performance. Add to that great technique and a killer tone and he is the real deal. This is not even the best version of this, so that gives you some indication of how good he actually was. I miss him so much.

This song was originally written as an instrumental, Gary brought it to Phill Lynett... Who went away and wrote the lyrics.... The opening line "I remember Paris in '49"... Phil was born in 1949, his father was called Paris :).... The pause was because Gary held the record for the longest guitar note for that particular note in the song... So he teased and paused to get a response.... Oh, and the bassist is Cass from the band Skunk Anansie.

I saw Gary perform this live at the Barrowlands in Glasgow, back in probably 1997 or 1998. I was stood about 6ft from a Marshall stack and I don't think the hearing in my left ear has ever recovered. No regrets though. He broke his high E string while he was playing and just got on with the show, nobody knew any different. Such a professional. He was a great guitarist who really knew how to put a Les Paul through its paces. He had so much to say, and chose to say it though his guitars. Gone too soon. Another great reaction guys. Much love.

I saw Gary Moore live in Rotterdam Holland. He did some Thin Lizzy, he did his metal periode and of course his blues set. This magician gave you his all every night. You got more than your money's worth. It still is one of my favorite concerts and nobody can take it away from me. I saw a master at work. Okay with a few thousand other people where there too. When he passed i am not ashamed to say i shed a tear and that whole day was (not a nice word) He talked through his strings even though he had an excellent singing voice. thanks for the memory and enjoy.

Growing up my guitar hero's were from bands I loved, like Lifeson, Gilmour, Van Halen and Page. When I took up playing guitar around 10 yrs ago, my go to for guitar ideas and instruction moved to Knopfler, Moore and Marino. Gary Moore heads my list of the cream of the crop, followed by Frank Marino. Check "Its Begun to Rain" by Frank Marino, up there with some of the greatest solos I've ever heard.

You two are clearly lovers of the blues. It is the basis of all modern music, thus the root music and it truly does draw you into its beauty. Great blues guitarists are, for my money, the most heart felt musicians of the last 60 years or so. A tremendous amount of what they have recorded still sounds contemporary and excellent today. All timeless music is that way. The blues will never go out of fashion. 🎸🎸🎸💖💖💖

Another great performance by the amazing Gary Moore - one of my favourite guitarists so it's good to see you reacting to him again. Give yourselves a treat and react to this performance of Separate Ways, live 1992, with extended intro. The vocals start about 7 minutes in and before that your see and hear some of the best guitar playing ever performed, with Gary showing both the incredibly subtle touch he has, building up to the fire that is always bubbling away, waiting to explode. He was one of the great masters of the instrument and very few can control a cranked-up electric guitar on stage, with the gain ready to punch holes in the venue walls, in the way Gary Moore could.

This is a magnificent piece but his true master work and what I consider to be the greatest guitar performance ever recorded is "THE MESSIAH WILL COME AGAIN" - here's a link to it - ua-cam.com/video/7k07j7LcLqw/v-deo.html I've been a musician since 1963 and have heard many of the greats live including Jimi Hendrix, BB King, Jeff Beck and many more and IMHO Gary is the best guitar player that ever lived.

You picked the wrong one! You should do Parisian walkways with solos and improvisation! Is a pure instrumental and it's a lot longer and better than this one.

Confused why people keep recommending live performances to reactors before the studio version.
This one isn't so bad, but other examples like the recent Phil Collins live "In The Air Tonight" just leave me scratching my head as to why anyone would recommend it vs an older live performance, let alone the studio recording which is easily the best version using his drumming and vocals together.
The Phil Collins example is especially bad because he's clearly past his prime for vocals in the performance, and obviously can't even play the drums anymore due to his spinal condition.

That performance was before his surgery in 2009 left him impaired. He still played well on this tour, even doing a “drum duel” with his drummer Chester Thompson. The botched surgery for a spinal issue is what caused the issues with his hands
I’m surprised at your surprise, actually. I’m a great Collins fan and I love that video. What people love is the long build-up…. Full of foreboding and mystery. And then he sings with such passionate anger and tension. Very dramatic. And to me, there is no evidence of lesser vocal chops at all in his 50’s. In this case I think it enhances the power of the song. Evidently you don’t. Each to his own. But you know you’re swimming against the current on this one, right? Of course you do.
And other bands? Well, some bands were so incredible live, with so much charisma, that subs want their reactors to go live immediately. I’m thinking Led Zeppelin, Queen, Pink Floyd Pulse tour, and several others. They want the reactors to be blown away and don’t have the patience to wait. Instant gratification and all that.
Personally, I think studio first, then live in most cases. Interestingly enough, your example of In The Air Tonight would be an exception. The visuals add so much to the power of the song, to me.

You're in s minority of around one if you are referring to Phil in PARIS with the Blue Stage. What is it 100 MILLION VIEWS?
Yes,many times I like the studio but the whole point of watching Floyd@ Pulse perform Comfortably Numb, for example,is the surprise at the solo, which is wondrous and tops the studio version but if you hear the studio first,it ruins much of the surprise as you know it's coming. This and "Still Got THe Blues" in Paris by Gary HAVE to be the ultimate versions of these 2 songs.
