I know I've been commenting a lot but that's because 1) you've been uploading the best videos from this tour and 2) Tori's been on fire. Such a great performance of a great song.
Really glad she brought this one out, but there is no denying that she is resistant to playing new songs these last several years. It's criminal that there are LOTS of newer songs we have never heard live. I wonder why. Cuz like, she's totally capable...or is she? Maybe she doesn't have capacity for learning some of her new stuff. I realize Ash was new to this tour and he had lots to learn, but it was like this in 2017 and 2014, too. Lots of new songs to choose from, and she kept bringing us the usual. But seems like she tried to achieve a middle ground by using backing tracks for many newer songs in the last few tours- and the backing tracks always take away from the performance, never do they add to it. Ever. I wish she would stop!!!! However, I was delighted when she sang America solo in 2017, that was a treat. I thought it was a damn shame that she ignored Speaking with Trees last tour! I predict that she will bring it out in April 2023 tour!
I've staed most of this similar thing in a Tori thread, and only stans who kiss Tori's ass respond. They're just thankful for Tori. #Whatever I will never understand why on an O2O tour, most of the O2O songs are left untouched. She's been doing that, as you've stated, for years. I also agree that the backing tracks suck, because they almost never line up right. I don't understand why she does prerecorded ANYTHING, when she could just bring one or two backup singers. I would love to hear Tori sing with live backup. Is she afraid to sing with others or what? If you're going to do it, do it right and all the way, Tori.
Finally! One of her best songs in years. Now for Metal Water Wood please. And some breathing/singing lessons. I’m sure this voice deterioration must be fixable. She needs to address it, not pretend it isn’t happening.
I really hope she does address it unlike before when she's refused to get a vocal coach. Artists like Björk even at her age sound great just because they learned how to sing with proper technique after so many years of vocal damage.
@@reimalmancellari I wish Madonna would get back to technique. It's just sensible for their profession. Singing in the shower is NOT the same as picking up pick up a mic, singing for an audience in an theatre, arena or stadium.
