OMG!!! I’m from California now living in Texas but after watching your video, I didn’t realize how Californian my English was!! You are correct when it comes to the California accent because many of the movies and TV shows are made in California! I was living in Oklahoma for a brief moment and I came across this girl working at a bookstore! She sounded so Californian! Being from California I went to talk to her. She was born and raised in Oklahoma! I told her she sounded so Californian! She attributed her accent to watching a lot of TV shows and movies! 😃

America has no problem accepting the thousands of people from other countries that make their country stronger. 30-60% of their top scientists are foreign born and raised (depending on the field, some are higher percentage wise than others). America wouldn’t be anywhere near as powerful as they would without immigrants.

The reasons why Chinese kids or parents don't put effort in sports are basically 1. MONEY (unlike the US, most of the Chinese are less well off, and winter sports are hella expensive); 2. time (education in China is really competitive, and the system doesn't value sports as much); 3. no reason to (like point 2, if it doesn't help in competing for universities, why bother); 4. weather (not many places snow in China. Even if there's snow, the mountains aren't skiable or don't have enough snow).

When they go to workplace, they tend to reduce the filler words, slow down and lower the pitch to sound more professionally. 有人专门去美国国务院官网查了，并没有古爱凌在退出美国国籍的人名单上。因为美国国务院官网按月公布退出美国国籍的人名单。有人专门从现在倒查至她18岁那一年为止。没有她的名字。换句话说她并没有取消美国国籍。只是中共为她破例允许她加入中国籍。因为按照中国现行法律中国不承认双重国籍。当一个人取得外国国籍的时候，就自动取消了中国国籍。但是美国允许双重国籍。
这个叫做归化运动员，就是改变国籍代表该国参赛，在世界体育界是非常常见的事（hhh各国奥委会抢人大战）。比如平昌冬奥会，冰雪项目韩国总共144个运动员，有19个是加拿大归化来的。。所以我觉得没必要大惊小怪的。
