What a polished speaker for 18 year old! Her talent, intelligence and worldly outlook is far beyond her age, gender and any title or symbol that associates with her so far. She would be best fit to lead the world sports, perhaps in 10 years I hope.

Pretty amazing to have someone so prominently representing the Chinese diaspora. I was not expecting this level of self-awareness for someone her age - no one I knew at her age could've given an interview like this. Such a talented communicator. Also really shows how absurd American media coverage of her has been, she's so earnest and straightforward about her intentions and motivations, but American jingoism keeps projecting its baggage onto her.
The American narrative of their favourite bogeyman is falling apart. They're even going as far as to silence US athletes for praising the conditions of the Olympic village.

No one has said anything about her looks to me, she doesn’t look very Asian more white….but she’s just looked at as a traitor to the Americans and it’s because people don’t like China for their human rights abuses! Her skiing for China is seen as her agreeing with China’s policies and laws!

Can some hook her up with Emma Raducanu, they are almost like twins in Terms of their upbringing and strong Chinese heritage. Both look up to their mums as role models and speak both English and Mandarin fluently.
That would be interesting as there are a lot of similarities there,both of mixed Chinese heritage, both precociously talented at their chosen sport,with Emma achieving tennis history by being the first qualifier to win a major,both A students academically and lastly both being extremely photogenic! However there's one major difference,Emma's a proud Brit who wouldn't dream of playing for either China or Romania and she even donated her US Open trophy to the National tennis centre as a token of her gratitude to the LTA for their support from a very young age in her journey to become the player she's today.
