Honestly with the kind of feats Australia have with the give it all spirit, they have been and still are the Best Cricketing Nation hands down. Though us Indians don't take away the big trophies most of the time, which is sad considering the kind of team we have, still can't deny the fact that we have one of the best teams to play this sport ever. England, South Africa and New Zealand are always there to challenge Both India and Australia at times. Teams like Afghanistan and Netherlands have been in the rise lately. While the likes of Sri Lanka and West Indies are on the decline. With Pakistan its always a uncertainty, Consider them favourites and they will loose like no one has ever before while make them the underdogs and they will show some ruthless cricket that wouldn't have been played since a long time. Bangladesh just exists.

As an Aussie kid in the late 90s and 2000s I knew I was witnessing greatness. It was such a dominating era. If you're interested there is a documentary (I think it's on YT) called Fire In Babylon about the rise of the West Indies in the 70s. Basically Australia humiliated them in a series and were hyper aggressive (as you'd expect) resulting in quite a few injuries. The West Indies then decided to match that and took it to the world and dominated.
Australia 3 peat era was mind boggling but the stories of the men from the carribbean throughout the 80s is unmatched
Don Bradman is statisically the greatest sportsman ever, I can confidently say no one will ever have a batting average with that amount of games/innings played ever again.
Also Australia has been incredibly dominate on the big stage even just recently won the World Cup for a record sixth time & were the heavy underdogs against India.

If you research Australian men's team , back from 1999 , the world cup, this team is remarkably dominant. They went through a transition when great players retired, they re built and now back on top of the world, especially with key matches in the major competition games and dominate all teams. Watch highlights of 1999 world cup and 2003 & 2007 , 2015 and now 2023 wc glory a few weeks ago , the home ground advantages from what pressure aus had , they have been the only team to fight and fight and just beat opposition teams
That Australian team was amazing. I do think the England team that beat them in 2005 deserves a mention though - not as dominant as in the Strauss/Cook era, but it was the team that set that up and established it really. And for a brief time looked like a really excellent team.
The footage they used to show the West Indies in their pomp didn't really do them justice. Might be worth reacting to some West Indies fast bowlers footage and some Greenidge and Haynes footage separately.
It's interesting that, other than Bradman and Richards, the really dominant batsmen didn't get many mentions - people like Sachin Tendulkar and Brian Lara. Perhaps it's because they were often the stand-out player, rather than part of the stand-out team.

To put it in perspective. Text cricket has been a thing for 147 years, played by a dozen nations, and that top Australian side on the list had three guys you could put in the all-time world test eleven. If you were to pick an all-time Australian eleven, they had five guys that would undoubtedly be in it and another two or three in serious contention.
Australian cricket was so strong at that point that touring test sides would play warmup games against anyone of our state sides and get trounced.
The Australian era was great as they were coming off a very low position. But I would rank the West Indies team under Clive Lloyd as easily the greatest cricket team of all time. At their peak they were feared by the opposition and I have never seen any team come near that level since.
Their batsman were dominating, but their bowlers were simply in a league of their own. There were fears that anyone of their bowlers would injure or even kill a batsman, they were that frightening. They were truly awe inspiring.
I feel blessed to have seen them all through those years.
Started watching cricket in 2003 when the Australian team was at its peak. It was so fun to watch!

At the top lol. What all ICC trophies they have one. Lol ICC knockouts are there for a reason winning some Bilaterals is called being Top. Then now we know why our team isn't winning many Trophies it's the thought like you have is what killing our teams chances in big games.

The 2007-2013 team India was way better than the current Indian team winning 3 ICC trophies, 1 Asia cup, test series win in NZ. They should have been no. 3 on the list.

2007-2013 India team won test series in NZ, test series in Eng, test series in WI, drew test series for the 1st time in SA, whitewashed Aus twice at home.
Current Indian team has no achievements except 2 test series wins in Aus. If this team is so good in tests, why can't they win the WTC?

Aus women's team is nearly inevitable but they were tested to their limits by the English women's team in the 2023 Ashes series.... You should react to it.... the series had 1 five day test match 3 Odis and 3 T20is many records were created and broken in this series and the stadiums were packed

2003 and 07 teams were probably Australia's best ever teams, the other WC winners were good teams like the last one, not their best ever.
Australia's was unbeaten in 36 straight World Cup games between 1999-2011 (next best is 11 by India in last world cup, with a "undeserved" World Cup winners Australia now on 10 match unbeaten streak from same WC), 21 one day matches in a row in 2003, 16 test wins in a row x2 (99-01 & 05-08, next best is 11 by West Indies, only teams over 9!)

Today's Australian team are very good in their own right too. 2 time 50 over champions last ten years, T 20 world champions 2 years ago, and Test champions this year. Not to mention retaining the ashes for the last four series.

Best highlights of Australia success is Adam Gilchrist, Matthew hayden. Andrew Symonds who unfortunately died last yr in a car crash, Shane warne is another legend who unfortunately lost his life also. May other greats and captains , Steve waugh , Ricky Ponting, Michael Clarke and now current captain pat Cummins. All so distractive competitive players who will never fear failure and will never lay down and cave in , regardless of the situation they are put under

He is a west indian batsman known as universal boss
Dhoni's team, even though a weaker bowling unit than the current Indian side, managed to win all major tournaments, got the number one ranking in all formats. I would rate that team much higher than many other teams in list, it's the no. 3 team for me after Australia and West Indies.

I was born in 87 and was unable to fully appreciate the cricket side we had in Australia. It was truly cricket history taking place but was normal for me. Im only now beginning to understand now how we lucky we were to have some of the best players in history all in the 1 side.
The mid 80s West Indies team are the benchmark. Who could have challenged them at home at their peak? The Waugh captained Australians from the late 90s with Warne and McGrath are the only ones. The Strauss captained English team were not as talented with the bat, and the Indian teams were, and still are too inconsistent away from home.
I went to Canada, and every Indian taxi driver I met (at least half a dozen) started talking about the #1 Australian team in this video. They played like 15-20 years ago now? The thing was they had everything, the metronome Glenn Mcgrath, The Pace of Brett Lee, the best spinner Shane Warne, Amazing all-rounders - RIP Andrew Symmonds- the best opening batsmen combination, the first oppressive wicket-keeper batsman slogger in Gilchrist, the leadership of Steve Waugh fielding in cover driving the other team scared shitless with his stoicism, and I haven't even mentioned Ponting or Gilespie. Their fielding was incredible, and they just competed so hard. If they ever failed with the bat or ball, you just knew that an Australian championship performance was about to happen. In the papers in Australia, you had headlines like Invincibles 2 and the Dream Team of Cricket. If you ask anyone that isn't taking the piss, this team is #1, maybe #2 if they are a bit biased. If you want something on Bradman, try Bradman and the Bodyline series.

MS Dhoni was way better captain than Ponting. Ponting had a much better team than Dhoni especially Australia's bowling was much stronger than India.

I didn't know Americans liked - or understood cricket. I used to have to play it at school and my Sports Master one year confused me with my younger brother and praised me in my school report (in fact, when I could, I'd play Rounders with the girls as it was more fun). I used to 'watch' village cricket being played on this Common while getting p*****d. It was the Common where we used to hang people - I think that fate would be better than having to play!!

It has to be teams from different eras. The best team switches from country to country over time, with some of the stronger nations being at the top more often. When I was younger, the West Indians took over the mantle from Australia in the mid 1970s, and playing against them for the next 15 years was just brutal. They had the most consistent and scary fast bowling attack of any team ever.
Don Bradman was certainly a man apart, and the teams he was in were rarely beatable. It took bodyline to defeat Australia in a series, a strategy that was later outlawed because it was seen as unfair, and certainly dangerous.

I am happy they included India from 2016 because Indian team isn't looked as great team because of losing 5 final and 4 semi since 2014 in icc events.
