Kratos returns for the epic conclusion of his Norse arc. Here's my review for GOD OF WAR RAGNAROK!
#GodOfWarRagnarok
Death can have me, when it earns me
-Kratos
The hype that flowed through my body when he said it in the game
Sick line
Fate only binds you if you let it
Yeah, that line was fucking epic
Such a baller line
Every time a valkyrie screamed "Valhalla" in this game, I had a flash back to being killed by Sigrun with the dive attack and having no resurrection stones.
At least this time there's only three. This time for flashbacks, it was "For the King" and then I had flashbacks of the Valkyries again
Well at least it'll cause you go into gamer rage mode with the controller
Hardest thing i've had to endure since Breath of the wild's master sword trials LoL
@@rustyblade9366 Oh god the trials. I remember skipping to them on my first playthrough(Figured I could just get the Master Sword early). I was so upset when I found out I needed 14 hearts to grab the sword after spending an hour trying to steer the stupid raft.
I agree talk about serious PTSD
I absolutely love the way they portrayed Thor and especially Odin. Thor being this timid physical kid around Odin, but then letting his crazy side out when he's not around. And Odin being this Mafia-esque Don, who's incredibly manipulative, sneaky, and pretty douche-y.
YeAh bUt wHeRe wAs jAnE fOsTeR?!
Thor was way too weak
thor Isn't timid at all lol being a timid bully Is a contradiction
@@RebornVengeancex Your life experience is lacking, I have known a few timid bullies, hell there's a timid bully in the recent IT movies
@@JakeTalksGamesYT that's an oxymoron It's like saying a kindhearted bully as a native american that doesn't make sense.
This game ended up feeling more like a movie than most mainstream movies these days, weird times we live in.
It’s better than most movies too lol
My only complaint is the story felt rushed, I would have been fine if they made another game where it was full on war with Asgard from beginning to end.
@@ardent835
It’s not a flawless story as I have the same complaint. But even then it’s still better than a lot of movies these days
That’s because the creators of the game were focused on creating, rather than pushing the message.
They most likely had to rush the end meet deadlines
This might be one of the few games where saying "it doesn't feel like its own game" is actually a compliment. This game is pretty inseparable from 2018 and so much so that it feels like one continuous story from start to finish.
yup
I think that's what they were going for lol. Can't wait to play this.
Facts, no other game sequel has felt like this
“It needs the blessing of a great blacksmith…”
favorite part of the whole game was that moment tying up brok’s line about the nature of things. Beautiful
Considering what happens with Brok later it makes that moment even more profound.
Can’t believe you didn’t mention Bear McCreary’s absolutely insane soundtrack to this game. That is worthy of some awards, immaculate stuff.
bear absolutely murdered
Superb music
What soundtrack? There's hardly any music in this game, it's slow and forgettable. The old games had way better music than this so-called God of War game
@@P.E.NumberOne Oh you know..just the 2 hour long composition masterpiece.
@@P.E.NumberOne Found the ADHD Crackhead.
There was a lot more Thor in this game than there was in Taika Waititi’s Thor movies.
Yeah, and he was an actual badass.
All Characters were Great but Atreus could’ve been better..
Found his monologues and dialogues irritating at times..
Yeah and he wasn't a complete joke
@@vb2388 he's in his puberty phase,so i guess thats kinda expected?
Good
Kratos ALWAYS put his family first his brother and his first wife and child, losing them is what made him the cold killer he became for so many years but now he is older, finished his mission, and has a son. It's only natural he has a soft spot! Doesn't change the fact he's one of the most powerful and brutal killers in videogame history!
The scene with the Norns was one of the most well written scenes I’ve seen in anything. Game, TV, or Movie. The writing in this game is just superior.
Agreed.
My favorite scene I felt every piece of what they were saying, and the pan to Kratos scowl as he exists thinking this is really going to be it for him.
then... u should watch more movies?
@@jalcome4201 what movies are u thinking are better?
@@jalcome4201 the writing is up there with the top 20 movies, being a video game propels it IMO as its not something we see to this level
This might just be me, but Thor really came into this game and was like, "Lemme become one of the best God of War characters ever and one of the best God of War boss battles while I'm at it."
Thor was awesome in this game!
Thor was a complete no body in this game.
He had one cool segment at the start of the game, and then is largely forgotten for the REST OF THE GAME.
He was a complete failure as a character.
Nah thor was left to be forgotten. Such a shame for such a compelling character
His last battle was so bad. Way too freaking easy and gets offed and no one even mourns his death. Definitely was underused and ranks bottom of the barrel for god battles in this series.
@@ncblock87 So you know nothing. Because he very much had a character.
@@anthonyashby4202 Sif and Thrud are nobody then.
One thing I really liked is how they took some of the runic attacks from the last game and just made them part of your normal kit in this game. It's like Kratos has used these moves so much that he can now do them without trying. It's a nice way to balance losing a bunch of your power from the previous game; yes, your weapon is not as strong as it used to be, but Kratos himself has grown in power and experience.
Like which one? The axe slide?
@@KRYMauL the River of Knives, Tyr’s Revenge, Blessing of the Frost, Leviathan’s Wake for the Axe. The Blades of Chaos also have their respective runic moves that became part of the skill tree.
Playing as Atreus in Jotunheim, the entire mask arc, the real OG bosses post main story ruined the game, Ended up a 7/10 for me
Yesssss same here
@@mau4604 makes sense.
What I liked the most was Kratos development, the last game and this one he was running away from his past, trying to forget what he’s done but this game and it’s ending, he’s finally accepted what he’s done and wants to be better, to be a better God.
"Don't be sorry, be better"
god*
I like the ending to this, because Kratos ends up becoming the very thing Atreus was looking for the whole time.
- - - *SPOILERS* - - -
The very thing Tyr was suppose to be, Kratos becomes the God of Peace & Wisdom rather than War, actually being worshipped & loved. A complete shifted from where he was at the beginning of God of War 2, he has become Tyr.
Well from my point of view, he'll always be the god of war but now he'll fight wars to end injustice and sufferings in the name of hope. And also bring change to where ever he goes.
He was worshipped before. He became god of war after the original game, and at the end of it the narrator tells us that people worshiped him. I didn't like the ending because it was open again. Game developers really don't know how to end their games especially when it's a semi open world when you need to let the player have fun in your sandbox after credits roll, so he can finish side quests and get collectables.
Wooh yes what a conclusion why have a fun final fight in gow let's just have a peaceful serene moment
@@liamdilley1152 You didn't this that final assault set piece was epic on every level? Everything after that was just the epilogue, the final fight was amazing.
The first battle between Thor and Kratos hooked me in for the rest of the game.
That fake out halfway through the fight was “Chefs kiss” perfect
@@Bosston62 I SAY WHEN WE'RE DONE
That fight was insulting. Thor kept his hammer on his belt most of it and still wiped the floor with me lol. That’s when I realized I had a lot of work to do.
@@brijor6ff7 That was so brutal 🔥🔥🔥💪🏾💪🏾💪🏾🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Game of the year for me easily, what an experience.
Elden Ring will probably win GotY but Ragnarok is best story and direction easily.
Hope this beats Elden Ring
@@PoopaChallupa The game awards isn't the only way to win GOTY.
@@mruntouchable187 it’s the big one though, so it pretty much is the one that matters most.
worst written GOW game by far.
I just beat it the other day and it was the BIGGEST transformation for Kratos as a human being in a GoW game. This game deserves to be GotY!
lol nope
Just finished yesterday, it definitely deserves game of the year.
Flat out masterpiece.
Yes it deserves
@genorem elden ring is a better game, GoW is the best story in a game in a long time though
Either this game or Elden Ring which will be GOTY
That is the perfect analogy of anyone who faces off against Kratos: they always hear boss music when they face him.
Please do many more game reviews. Your gaming passion shines through so strong and I personally think (retro) games are your real passion. So please do more about that. You have done no videos on gaming in a long time.
The oooonly thing that gives the first one the edge for me is the blades of chaos moment. Retrieving the blades was one of the greatest moments in any entertainment medium of all time. Chills just thinking about it.
The horn was a damn close second though.
Gjallarhorn sounded more beautiful than I imagined when I first heard it. The sound feels like it's digging in your brain in the best way
The horn was a real "Avengers.....Assemble!" moment for me. All the realms opened up, and we went into Asgard and sh*t was already going DOWN!
Its the blades of chaos. One of the most iconic weapons in the history of games.
Being able to seamlessly swap weapons mid combo and continue your combo is so satisfying!
The combo potential in this game is phenomenal as a fighting game player I love it and its one thing I wish elden ring had
Elden Ring is not that kind of game and if you're playing GoW on Give Me God of War difficulty, it's not like that either. Also, players would get rocked if PVP for Elden Ring in it had a combo system.
@@pureamateur649 agreed. I actually changed the Difficulty yesterday (I started my first run with Give me GOW cause I hate myself), but I just realised that with multiple enemies I was parrying 99% of the time and couldn't enjoy the game... 😅 i think the difficulty levels on GOW are just bad. Don't understand why you need the whole "Level" system and then on top of that put extra difficulty levels. It's not thought out enough.
Man just compared Ragnarok's combat to Elden Ring....
@@KillerTacos54 I'm not comparing I'm saying I prefer it and if u wanna compare points that a game should have gow ticks more boxes
@@pureamateur649that’s exactly why the pvp in elden ring isn’t fundamentally good; no nuance and every person participating in it is just a virgin spamming one piece of cheese. Wish it was better
There's so many emotional moments (if you know, you know) but there's one that stuck out for me... When Kratos and Atreus are getting rest in a tent the night before the battle against Asgard begins. Kratos is telling a story about the told man chopping wood for his village who is tried and at the end of his road and is accepting death, a story reflective of him... We saw Kratos at the end of GOW3 after finishing his quest for Vengeance which came at great cost, unfulfilled and ready to end his life without a care in the world with nothing to lose... In GOWR he was once again at the point where he's accepted his fate as he expects his death will come during battle. Although acceptance this time around is reluctant, he is almost on the verge of tears, a side of Kratos we've never seen before, this time he's got so much loss and so much to live for and it leaves you on the edge of your seat wondering what will happen, it was the point that also has you (the player) also sadly and reluctantly accept his fate too. Great writing and one of the greatest journeys of character development and growth I've ever seen done for any character. Who knew we'd grow to care and root for The Ghost Of Sparta the way we did after all the bad, cruel things he'd done...
BRAVO!!! 👏👏👏
Also, I'm finding the Beserker King and the new Valkyrie Queen more of a pain in this game. The last 2 things I have to complete
Im so agreed with you, the writting was excelent, but i have to say, the berserker king was dificult but i beated yesterday an the 4 attemp and the valkyrie im still trying cuz is not that hard, the thing with her is the freaking bifrost effect ja but the valkyre queen in the first one was more difficult to me, anyway amazing game and the history was so satisfying great secuel.
Hey, update the armor set from the start (survival) all the way to lvl 9, and it's basically better than all other armors, it just doesn't have perks, but you can equip your weapons and the Yggdrasil amulet with enchantments for that.
@@BENGIEPR23 uuu ill check on that, cuz im using the armor that have the best cooldown and the berserker armor both at level 9 but my best result against her was having her at half of health, ill check on the armor you said thanks
@@liquidneo1014 Update lol I wasn't quite a high enough level. Beat them both recently at level 9, was a lot easier, level 9 is vital. Yes, I agree with Jeremy now lol the Valkyrie Queen from 2018 was the ultimate thorn in my side too.
@@BENGIEPR23 That's were I was going wrong. Was level 8, thought it was good enough lol thanks anyway 👍
Never have super powerful beings capable of destroying mountains felt as human as in GoWR
This game has been called “the GodFather 2 “of video-games for A reason, but I can’t praise this game enough for what an amazing world they have made with this game,I think this game truly has set the benchmark of triple A gaming.Ragnorok is a game that to me I think about even when I’m not playing.and very few games can do that these days
True.
I beat this game and literally cried. If a game can make me cry because of something that happens to a character I care about, then that is truly a special game.
I just finished it today. My bf came home and watched me play from the final battle with Thor to the end of the game. He straight up watched me like go from like “hell yea, kickin ass” to like a sobbing mess😂😂.
I lost it when he said “get up brother” hahaha I was expecting like a voice line from the Valkyrie queen but no..yeah, that’s so accurate😂
Beat it 100% last week. I definitely enjoyed it more than the last game. And the new characters introduced were a welcome addition
This game is better but you cannot discount the last game because it's essential to understanding where the characters are at in Ragnarok and how they develop.
The main story was trash compared to 2018
I found it extremely underwhelming. Like asgard is just a couple of wooden huts and a great hall, thats not that great hardly worth kratos time destroying.
@@DavidZMH You can say that for just about any sequel ever created
@@dannybowers4133 a long time ago not every kingdom had castles, I liked how lowkey their city was. having a palace would've been overkill besides they're gods they don't need to flex.
It took a game to hear AWESOMETACULAR again. Well deserved.
Just two of my favorite quotes from the game that resonated with me: "It is the Nature of a thing that matters, not its Form." and "To grieve deeply is to have loved fully, open your heart to the world as you have opened it to me and you will find every reason to keep living in it."
Dude, that “grieve deeply” like chocked me up a bit 😂😂
Good choices
Lovely words by kratos and faye
Absolute masterpiece! Then when pairing with 2018, it’s one of the best one, two punches in history. The story! The characters! The world! The gameplay!
This game's story can make hollywood run for its money. It had heartfelt moments amazing combat. This is THE game of the year!
So true
The first game had more epic battles. At this moment I think that's a better game. But Ragnarok had way more character development and story. This game feels like what vol 2 of guardians of the galaxy was to the first film. It's more about family and friendships.
It was probably the best piece of media (games, film, shows) I’ve consumed in a long long time. Loved every minute of it.
I agree
Don’t think people are taking enough about how well voice acted angrbooa was. Amazing job
Thinking back after reading your comment and I realize what u said is 100 percent true
This was such a satisfying game. Not every question was answered but it was still awesomtacular as you said sir.
Sigrun the Queen of the Valkyries from God of War IV was not only the toughest boss I've ever fought, but is also the best and most addictive boss battle ever. I didn't stop until I defeated that bird and when I finally did I cheered and threw down my remote. Glorious.
Have you fought the boss that's set up after the main storyline? I don't want to spoil anything for you if you haven't gotten to the end of Ragnarok, but that boss is far worse than Sigrun imo.
@@Kratosx23 Would that be Gna, the Berserker King or the Raven Keeper? Gna's moveset wasn't as intense or speedy as Sigrun's though she was borderline close (I did die a couple times to her, but not as many as Sigrun) and her health is definitely more bloated, the Berserker King was tanky as shit and hit hard, but wasn't that bad, and the Raven Keeper was... kinda a joke, if I'm honest.
@@TheWriteFiction It was Gna. King Hrolf Kraki and the Raven Keeper are not held by story constraints, you can do them whenever you get the required prerequisites done. I thought Gna was vastly, vastly worse than Sigrun.
@@Kratosx23 Did you find her difficult?
At its point in the game, Dark elf king in Alfeim is perhaps still the toughest of both the games. The dark setup during the fight only makes it tougher.
The game was like The Two Towers and The Return of the King in one story: satisfying, but so overwhelming.
Been waiting for the video, this game was just amazing
LMAO. The writing is absolute garbage. Marvel phase 4 level nonsense.
gow was the game that got me into gaming as a kid and to see them pay so much respect to kratos past and history. And then upgrade every aspect possible while taking him into the world of Norse mythology and flushing out those characters so well. I gotta say 2018 and ragnarok are already probably my favorite games ever.
Just beat the game and wow … simply wow
Do the The Broken Prison mission if you haven’t…there is a surprise at the end that you don’t want to miss
Did you mean watch the movie?
Fell in love with the game…instant classic
I love the build up to him saying….. “AWESOMETACULAR”. Lol
Music was OUTSTANDING in this game!!!..
Last mission felt like Avengers Endgame !!!
"get up brother" literally said it with him
When Thor first spoke in this game I legit thought it was Josh Brolin and I immediately had to pull my phone out.
I can't wait for the next one. This is an unforgettable game.
The final moment in Asgard was great. All the carnage happening all around you was so satisfying to see.
And sindri is a badass. Way to go dude!
I feel like Sindri was corrupted by the end...Really sad.
I feel like they intentionally made the Norse gods’ characters opposite of their representations in Marvel movies. Think about it, Odin in Marvel is a strong looking figure who cares about all beings in the nine realms, seems impossible to do evil, and loves his sons. In this game, Odin isn’t presented as physically strong, but very witty and scheming, doing evil things for his own people at the expense of others, and expresses his disgust in Thor openly. Speaking of, Thor in Marvel is this blonde, muscular man who becomes a hero, experiences a ton of loss, but still remains good. Meanwhile, Thor in the game is a large, fat, emotionally damaged character who wants to do best by his family, but doesn’t know how because he sees himself as nothing but his father’s destroyer (or hammer, in this case). In Marvel, Heimdall is portrayed as a wise protector, who is very close to Thor. In the game, Heimdall is very arrogant, influenced by his ability to see peoples intentions so that he’s pessimistic about things. He also is at odds with Thor
Either that or Marvel tried very hard to have their norse gods very far from the more accurate depictions
Not opposite really. Just more accurate to Norse mythology
I ended the game with kratos being a 700+ defensive stun beast. That build is amazing even if it requires end game armor.
The sound of kratos shield parry landing is so enthralling
I really enjoy all of your reviews. Keep up the good work and thank you.
thank you for saying that us as the gamer in control of kratos is our duty to make kratos a badass when we play him.
only 6 seconds in the video but you absolutely killed that sponsorship singing thing lol
What about the line that's constantly repeated when you die: "Kratos, get off your back..."
I finally got the Platinum yesterday after 60.5 hours. Gna is no joke. Another masterpiece, just like the 2018 game. Hopefully they make a God Of War PS5 collection since this game is selling so well.
For real they was mad that Kratos was growing as a person especially when he has a son to mentor as a parent you want your kids to be better than you I like that concept
What a bittersweet end to a full circle story.
That final scene with Faye, man, that pretty much broke me
I really hope more AAA devs learn more from games like these. If you combine good writing with good gameplay you'll end up with a superior product.
So true
Gná is probably the closest we get to Sigrun difficulty which makes sense since she's Freya's replacement as the Queen of the Valkyries.
I was slightly worried when we took control of Atreus but pleasantly surprised. They used him just enough and gave him everything needed to make his story and gameplay fun
Ironwoods overstayed it’s welcome tbh
This is my game of the year. I finished the story last week and I'm still playing because there is so much end game content.
If you know your norse mythology then you'd see how perfect the relationships between thor, Odin and loki is portrayed in this game so lovingly to its source material even how loki could be "seen" as the god of mischief, loved it.
One of the funniest dialogue exchanges in the game is when Kratos tells Mimir that he's worried about Atreus not knowing how to "love and woo", since he's hooked up with Angrboda now.
Kratos teaches Circle Button lesson
The game had so many epic moments and a fitting ending for both Kratos and Atreus
Just beat game a few minutes ago and I get a review from one of my favorite reviewers!
I really hope there's some sort of story dlc because my main gripe is I wish there were more gods in it. The plot could basically be Aesir that were not seen in the game could be rallying to avenge Asgard and Odin and I believe there's enough information known about a lot of the more obscure gods to make them interesting and intimidating but also leaving creative room for the writers to work with
Don’t need any DLC , leave it the way it is
@@Justtalkinshii23 well you could always just not play the dlc, but the post game already sets up that there is still plenty to be done in the 8 realms and there's plenty more gods that can be shown
I used to watch you like 5 years ago and this is my first video back and i just love your rating system ;D
In terms of the valkyrie queen, I disagree. I had much more trouble with the Berserker King than with Sigrun. But maybe that all comes down to playstyle. The phrase that was seared into my head from that battle was "Nasty hit, are you alright brother?".
“You’re covered in bifröst brother!”
“Yeah I noticed” 😡
Some say that God of War Ragnarok is nothing, but a DLC to God of War from 2018. Those who have already played the game, is it really so?
they managed to take the few weaknesses the first game had and improved on it. Phenomenal game all around
This was possibly my favorite game ever. Just finally beat it last night and it was a cinematic, blockbuster, truly next gen spectacle of a game with a fantastic script, acting, direction, story gameplay, exploration. A true 10/10 masterpiece IMO.
I just finished it now. What an experience! Mind blown !
This game is amazing. Nuff said, give me a Loki focused game in a new mythology

I think I preferred the story of the 2018 game, however the advancements they made in gameplay was just amazing. It’s my favourite combat system in any recent AAA game
GOW 2018 definitely had a more contained story with a clear objective. With Ragnarok, there were times where I couldn’t tell where things were going or how things would take a turn, but I don’t mean that in a bad way. I think it’s just the scale of the events that made it feel bigger with more complex moving parts.
@@mau4604 yea exactly, plus I think Ragnarok’s ending was a little rushed. I understand it was probably the tight schedule they were on, but the ending would’ve benefitted from another 2-3 hours or so and maybe one more new area to explore just so the final battle felt more climactic
To me , the first game is a 7/10 and this one is a 10/10
I just started this game last night. The art of it is beautiful and the voice acting is great thus far. Perfect timing for this review, for me. Thanks.
I love this game so much. I put in about 60 hours to 100% everything. I want to go back in on the hardest difficulty tho. Great review, great story, great time
You’re on to something with the Alan watts quote. Being an avid follower of people like Neville Goddard and quantum physics, when we decide to come to this planet the major nerf is “the veil of forgetting.” Forgetting our God like abilities which just lie dormant waiting for us to remember. This connects with the law of assumption!
I feel like Atreus is more like the main character in this game more than Kratos and I kinda worried at first because I thought Kratos would get the Joel treatment from Last of Us II but I was wrong. Nothing can kill Kratos!
"Death can have me when it earns me"
Richard Schiff as Odin is such a nice surprise for me! I’ll always remember him as that one guy in Lost World Jurassic Park who gets ripped apart by two Rexes. Lol.
Overall I thought this game was brilliant. I love what they've done with kratos as well and how it's come full circle with him as a character so to speak. Thor was really good in it as well. Loved some of his dialogue near the start of the game. "was it luck? Did my sons die by pure fucking luck?" thought it was great and interesting and really sad what happened with sindri as well after everything what happened. Imo he sort of mirrored who kratos was in the early games by the end.
Catching up on some jeremy videos, bro looks happy and rejuvenated. I know he had a rough 2020/21
I platinum’d this game about 10 minutes ago, perfect timing Jeremy
I just finished the game today. It left me all in the feels and actually made me more emotional than I was expecting. Loved the character development for everyone and it’s sad to no longer see this father and son duo.
I found the Beserker King and Gna to be as difficult or a bit more than Sigrun myself. But, I also think I'm just better at the game this time around than when I fought Sigrun at first so it definitely took less time to beat both of them. Well the winning battle was longer, but the amount of attempts were lower.
I felt the same way. “Is this really the hardest difficulty?” Definitely attuned to the fighting style
Didn’t watch review of GOWR because I haven’t played it. I’m deployed in Syria, and I’ll be home for the holidays 🤞🏽 Watched the Guardian of the galaxy holiday special, loved it… could you review that, would love your thoughts on it. Everything about this game was tremendous. The 2 GoWs shouldn't be seen as two different games, but one epically beautiful story. An absolute masterpiece 👏
tremendous af baby
That Valkyrie queen from 2018.. it took me 2 weeks to beat her
Gna was harder than Sigrun. She had all the move set of Sigrun plus more. That was one challenging fight.
Been waiting for the video, this game was just amazing
I think Sigrun was only easier because Sigrun didn't have any moves that the other Valkyries didn't have. By the time you fight her, you've seen every move she's got.
But Gna is an almost entirely unique fight. She only shared a few moves with other Valkyries and some of her mechanics only exist with her.
But I still beat Gna way faster than Sigrun. But that's only because I'm far better at the game than when I first fought Sigrun.
Felt like Gna had way more health too
@@scottmurff695 Been waiting for the video, this game was just amazing
Gna is just tankier. I felt like Sigrun is way faster has more varieties on her attacks (even though you already seen them when fighting the previous Valkyries).
GOW 2018 is Infinity War and Ragnarok is Endgame. Infinity War is the better story but Endgame is all about the spectacle and rounding out the story of several characters. I enjoy both games a lot as well as both movies. They each have their place and I can appreciate them all
I liked it mostly, except the ending.Spoilers AHEAD
after broks death, the game feels rushed like the ragnarok part was just 30 min. I really think the whole third act should have been the third game. i really feel most of the asgardian characters didn't get enough character devlopment. Even thor's death was just eh...
Been waiting for the video, this game was just amazing
the way you articulate your reviews are awesome!!
Shit the new valkyrie queen might be even harder. She's been kicking my ass 😂
Fantastic review as always, HOWEVER GNA, in opinion is much harder than sigrin if we’re being honest. Hell maybe even the berserker king
This is definitely debatable. My cousin and I both got the platinum and he had a harder time with the king while I had a harder time with the queen. I think it depends on everyone's play style.
Game of the year for me, finished the main story now doing all the side missions. Feels like even the side missions have missions because there's so many lol
Nothing as hard as the Valkyrie Queen?
Im actually relieved to hear that lol
An awesometacular game indeed. I got nothing to add in terms of its strengths. However, some minor weaknesses imho:
a. Odin is not a threatening villain, nothing like Zeus, Ares, Baldr or Thor. His motivations are well-written, he is a complex character but not a threat to Kratos.
b. I miss ginormous locations, statues, characters that make Kratos look like an ant. It used to feel so good seeing him run around, fly around those huge places trying to survive. Now Yormungandr and Ragnarok are giant and beautiful but we only observe them from afar.
c. Going through the game stopped feeling like we're doing larger-than-life high-impact things along the way to a big-deal final fight. All missions feel like separate time-consuming mini games.
d. Change in Sindri felt really out of character despite what happened. I thought he would have acted differently.
But all in all amazing game. 8/10
