@Chuck Buskee The scene where there were a lot of glass case. The enemies purposely took John one at a time. Also the enemies came in pair on that part one after another.

@@jmoriarty8000 I sure did. An hour in I wanted to leave so bad but I couldn’t. Is John Wick a superhero? The first Wick movie was grounded closer to reality. Now the dude absolutely cannot die lol. How on earth can you like this nonsense??

I’d love to see a John Wick prequel. A storyline before he met his wife and how he got out the first time. In the original JW they told a story about him doing an impossible task that forced the hand of the high table to release him from gis debts
Bill Skarsgård was fire in this movie. Could be a bit deeper and a little less out-drawn action scenes. The Tracker was a cool character too. And Keanu Reeves is always breathtaking.
Bill skarsgård is imo a very very underrated actor and imo he was the best in John wick 4 acting wise.. I only wish he was the guy who John wick had to fight to the death making him a lethal sumnabish.. But it's just a little nitpick. Hope to see him in more movies he's S tier actor
The director and writer really nailed the action and entertainment in these movies. They know it's over the top and lean into it while building some really cool lore and focusing on amazing fight choreography while casting some iconic action stars. These movies just hit all the right notes for me personally. I know some people think it's gone too over the top but it just works for me.
The original writer isn't involved anymore. Derek Kolstad wrote the first 2 by himself and collabed with 2 other people on chapter 3 but he is no longer involved in the 4th one. It makes me wonder how can the studio or whoever get rid of the original creator. I do think it will still be good though but man that's mestup.
The John Wick saga is kinda becoming like a second Mission Impossible saga. Both series are unique in their own identity bringing us new ways action movies can become. Both also are becoming increasingly more successful after each release, really consistent between each movies, its kinda crazy. Not to mention both Tom Cruise and Keanu Reeves doing their own stunts and being part of the main production. Absolute freaks of nature honestly!
Saw this just moments ago and I'm so glad Jeremy said "satisfied is the word." Cause on the way home I said to my friend, this movie not only satisfies me in and of itself but as a now complete franchise. I'm so glad I can I saw not just one of the greatest action franchises, but greatest franchises in cinema full stop as it happened. Fucking phenomenal.
I say this even bested the ultimate action classic Die Hard especially the 1st 3 1 is classic 2 is meh 3 is great i dont want 2 count 4 because is edited PG13 crap hahahaha
The fact that each movie is just as good if not better than the previous is def GOAT for cinema in my book. That's hard as hell to do. Hell the Fast and furious franchise doesn't know how to call it quits. I'm glad they decided enough was enough but bowed out like they did. 4 is definitely my favorite in the franchise.
This series is the spiritual successor to Beson's work in movies such as Leon, the Taxi series, the Transporter franchise... It's about time we got some fun movies that aren't superhero schlock back in cinemas.
Also in terms of the never ending choice of firearms and trigger happy action, Wick series actually reminds of the classic and now lesser known - 'Death wish' series with Charles Bronson. 🍷
@@varunemani I'm fairly certain those movies were on TV when I was a little kid. The last one, 5, came out around that time too. But I can't say I was much of a Bronson fan so I don't really recall them. But you do make me serious now.
Best action series ever created and I watch them many times a year. Sad that they lost such a good actor last week the concierge will never be forgotten
Everyone talks about the action, but the poker scene with the cyber punk music in the background did it for me. The intensity & vibe created in that scene was INCREDIBLE.
Hollywood does not know what to do with Donnie Yen. He is amazing and probably one of the last great martial artists to be on screen, with Jackie Chan and Jet Li sidelined.
John Wick is one of my favourite franchises. Top 3 easy. John Wick 2 is the only movie I’ve ever seen in theatres where my face hurt from smiling. I am beyond excited about chapter 4. Ranking from favourite to still amazing, but not my favourite I would have to say 2, 1, 3. I love them all! Great video Jeremy!
Just saw it and my god was this worth the wait. Absolutely loved this movie from start to finish. So many amazing set pieces and a compelling story. They somehow topped the knife fight in 3 for me 🤯 you'll know it when you see it, best action scene in the franchise hands down. Already wanna watch it again 😅
The JW films single-handedly got me into action films, and made me pay attention to things like fight choreography and editing. _Parabellum_ also ended up in my top 5 of 2019, and I've dressed up as John Wick twice for Halloween (complete with bloody pencil, "wedding ring", and facial hair comprised of a fucktonne of eyeliner since I'm unable to naturally grow a beard). You're the only YT film critic I actually trust, and seeing you act like a giddy fanboy is always great. I was looking forward to this anyway, but your endorsement made me even more excited for it. Thank you as always. :)
"The Blind Swordsman" is a huge theme on its own. I am so happy that John Wick's team put their own twist on it. It was fantastic and I seriously hope they will keep this story going. But im sad thinking Hiroyuki Sanada, who died in John WIck 4, won't be part of the future stories. Sanada is my favorite actor in swords/action asian movies for decades now. Donnie Yen was absolutely fantastic in the movie, tho.
It's actually insane how these movies just keep getting better and better with every installment. Keep em comin Keanu can keep making these movies and I'm seeing every single one lol
The movies are in order of preference. The first movie created this new "revenge movie" vibe. My two favorite revenge movies would be "Taken" and "Man on fire." John Wick adds more graphic novel vibes. A simple formula with lots of fun
This review is FANTASTIC!!! The enthusiasm is absolutely contagious, and the presentation is excellent. More like this please!!! Once again, John Wick doesn’t disappoint.

Excited to hear the positive response. So excited to check this out. It's amazing they kept it entertaining for 4 parts and now there's spin off movie and Continental show coming. There's going to be a break apparently after these projects, maybe for the better. If the makers don't feel like it, no reason to make another.

The John Wick movie manages to convey the pain that the characters feel very well. In fact, it's possible to feel the impact of the bullets, the shootouts in the cars, and the jumps from the buildings. All of this is very well done. In addition, of course, there is all the beauty that exists in the movie's visuals, all the care and elegance that the director brings onto the screen - and all of this becomes even more apparent when you see the care taken in portraying a message through the beauty of a sunrise. They are redundant and one dimensional. Beautiful shots and action. Cool music. Kitschy dialogue. Just underwhelming on substance.
@@stevengarthune9802 John Wick as a series was clearly never meant to have substance. Talking about it like that would be like trying to talk about the science in Ghost Busters.
This movie literally feels like a knockoff john wick, what are you talking about getting better lol. This franchise has only gotten worse after the second movie.
@@MikeJones-rh4xk If you think the action in JW4 is worse then I dont know what to say. I assume you're talking about the story but even then all they ever did was just expand on what they did previously. lol I'm very confused on what ppl were disappointed about here.
I had no idea this movie was almost 3 hours long. I am beyond hyped rn
That is so good.
Longer than The Raid 2.
Ayo, when he said the run time, idk how my grin got bigger than it was. Like, hyped for this one! Keanu, you beautiful fucking treasure.
Longer than Raid 2 and not a patch on it. It was rubbish.
JW-3 seemed to get a bit stale, out of energy towards the end. 4 sounds like the revamped the tone. 2H45M seems a bit long... 🎬
Four great films in a row is seriously impressive.
GOAT as far as I'm concerned.
Those kind of franchises tend to be the most memorable. Mission Impossible, Harry Potter... Hit after hit.
The Tokyo scene was somewhat slow in some parts but loved Donnie Yen and Hiroyuki Sanada sword fight was nostalgic. The best part for me was the Paris fight bodies hitting those cars was insane.
Hiroyuki Sanada is fighting against Sean Bean and John Hurt to be the Spoiler Man. (???)
@Chuck Buskee The scene where there were a lot of glass case. The enemies purposely took John one at a time. Also the enemies came in pair on that part one after another.
@Chuck Buskee Apparently you do with that long comment.
@Chuck Buskee Triggered much just chill and let it be 😂
Yeah agree, the museum (i think) sequence kinda drags a little too long
I was planning on seeing this movie anyways, but now I have to watch it opening day, if only to see what I presume is one of the last times we'll see Lance Reddick perform on screen (if he was working on other projects as well as this). His passing was an incredible shock to me, and I'm glad to see a lot of people coming together to honor him, even in video games
Def go see it
I got to a pre-release screening, it was totally worth it. The photography is amazing.
On Imdb there's a few movies and a show coming next year with him in it.
Def go see it. They did him justice in the film.
His death in the movie shocked me
The way he was thinking inside his head trying to find something negative to say but couldn't was totally epic!!! 😂
This was a masterpiece of action fighting movie. A very satisfying ending to John Wicks story.
This is why people gotta get hyped for Highlander!! The same studio/director and its rumoured Henry Cavill will play the role. Its gonna be insane!
Masterpiece huh? Looked like the same BS fighting we’ve seen before.
@@paulrevere1479 Did you even watch the movie.
@@jmoriarty8000 I sure did. An hour in I wanted to leave so bad but I couldn’t. Is John Wick a superhero? The first Wick movie was grounded closer to reality. Now the dude absolutely cannot die lol. How on earth can you like this nonsense??
Too over the top, exaggerated and long.
I really hope John Wick can keep its streak. Few franchises that can produce consistently great entries
I wasn't as impressed with part 3 as I was parts 1&2 but it sounds like part 4 is 🔥but you can only stretch out a storyline so far so maybe it's smart to end on part 5 or it can risk undermining it's own legacy if taken too far so yeah.
@@nicholasharris5480 the first one is the best one
Over the table? That's why it's so fun
@Morei - re: "Absolute freaks of nature honestly!" Are you not "honest" all the time in daily life? Or only when using the meaningless word.
Mission Impossible is kinda spotty though. Some of them don't work well. Ghost Protocol was probably the best.
@@robwalsh9843 I think most of mission impossible movies have been consistent though I liked the last film.and I'm excited for next movie
"Fucking phenomenal" is the only way I can explain the movie
Pretty sure that JW1 even had an homage scene to Leon. But Taxi is comedy though and had more emphasis on the car chases.
@@ThePrinceofHisOwnKingdom I still remember quite a lot of action in Taxi.
Best action series ever created and I watch them many times a year. Sad that they lost such a good actor last week the concierge will never be forgotten
Chapter 4 is right there in my mind with Chapter 1. Loved it!!
Everyone talks about the action, but the poker scene with the cyber punk music in the background did it for me. The intensity & vibe created in that scene was INCREDIBLE.
I didn’t want the Osaka scene to end. I went into this one without watching the trailers and it’s definitely the best since JW1.
Hollywood does not know what to do with Donnie Yen. He is amazing and probably one of the last great martial artists to be on screen, with Jackie Chan and Jet Li sidelined.
Star Wars used him very well in Rogue One
He had a good scene in a Highlander film too.
Oh man...the street scene was nuts... and the hotel scene. The movie was just the bomb💥👍🏾
Hallowe’en outfit sounds awesome! 👏 for attention to detail
@@c1audius Thank you! I like putting in little details when it comes to fancy dress.
Ahhh! So you get the passion! So refreshing. 😎🔥🙃
So cool that Jeremy got Keanu Reeves to do this review for him.
Are they though? I still enjoy the first film most.
@Tim Walden dude the action gets better each movie the 4th one should be the best one yet
i won’t say they get better but i like each one just about the same
like if any of them were on the tv i’d watch till the end
The movies are in order of preference. The first movie created this new "revenge movie" vibe. My two favorite revenge movies would be "Taken" and "Man on fire." John Wick adds more graphic novel vibes. A simple formula with lots of fun
Third one was horrible in my opinion, story was lacking
This review is FANTASTIC!!! The enthusiasm is absolutely contagious, and the presentation is excellent. More like this please!!! Once again, John Wick doesn’t disappoint.
Oh God....
Is this now a copypasta? 💀
Four Solid Films.
This saga is gold. They stuck the landing.
Keanu is brilliant in all the films, not as an actor (because he isn't a great actor) but through his actions and the hard work he puts in pays off.
This is called a back hand compliment.
@@MrBon3sz well not really because it's quite clear of given him praise, backhanded compliments are usually a little more up to interpretation
so he’s a good actor
Thank God for Jeremy. I beleive you're one of the few who really understands what John Wick means to the fans
Best movie I’ve seen in forever. The cinematic experience was so tangible and exciting. Every character is interesting, the cinematography was incredible, and the action was the best of any action movie ever made.
John Wick series is what Matrix series couldn't be. Incredible!
He killed a man with a ✏️. A fking✏️ Still the coldest line in the series
Loved it! Top Gun and John Wick were so much fun to see in IMAX, and both audience experiences were amazing too. Thanks to Keanu Reeves and the scores of people who made these films for giving us fun and quality films! Also thanks Jeremy for the great review, keep up the good work!
Excited to hear the positive response. So excited to check this out. It's amazing they kept it entertaining for 4 parts and now there's spin off movie and Continental show coming. There's going to be a break apparently after these projects, maybe for the better. If the makers don't feel like it, no reason to make another.
I’ve never been more excited for a movie. Great to hear it’s great
So far all the reviews have been great, I too was worried
Update: It was great
I think having a director who spent years as a stuntman helps these movies a lot, they bring something new to the table every time and more hollywood movies could learn a thing or two from Chad and his team
Keanu did a fantastic job both in John Wick Chapter Four, and in this review of his own work.

Not surprised to hear it’s great, the John Wick movies never disappoint
I saw this at an advanced IMAX screening and I agree it was awesometacular. Wick movies keep increasing the bar for action movies imo, and each instalment is a great addition where I don't think any are overwhelmingly better than the other.

I truly believe this film deserves a best cinematography nomination from the Oscars bc the level of skill on display was stunning and jaw dropping some of the best I have ever seen on film.
I saw it last night at the same theater with JJ! The crowd was literally clapping during some scenes and sequences! It was amazing and you need to see it in Imax for all its glory!
Saw this movie yesterday and it’s another masterpiece. Loved everything between Reeves and Donnie Yen, and that entire Japanese shootout sequence. Mission Impossible 7 has a high bar to clear now.
And we both know that mission impossible 7 will deliver and might be even better since it’ll have to live next to fallout and make it even better than that. I’m sure it will but you’re right it’s gon be hard

John Wick giving a John Wick 4 an awesometacular? Oh Yeah!
I posted my review of the movie today and it's amazing! Come and learn more about the fourth film involving the beloved Keanu Reeves!
Just watched this today, gotta admit this is the best movie out of the 4, also the dog kept me on the edge of my seat I just don't want it to get hurt or killed
It was so satisfactory the monent when John was ''one dog was enough!'', and mr. nobody was ''oh shit, I lost 40 millions, there is no way I gonna kill this guy anymore''.
It sucked you we're high as hell no really
This is gonna be in the top 10 best movies of 2023 list, without a doubt.

And just from those 3 seconds in the intro, you can already tell it's going to be one hell of a movie 🤣
6/10 movie at best. I really could not believe how it got such good reviews
Just watched the movie. And honestly I found is just as meh as the third one. I get that its supposed to be over the top action, but it just becomes boring after a while... And i also hate the bulletproof suit thing, it just makes the whole thing feel like there are no stakes.
I personally think the John Wick franchise as a whole is over hyped. It's not bad, but it's not as great as many make it out to be.
I have to say.. The first act wasn't as good as I hoped it would be. The whole setup in the Continental Japan didn't floor me either, but somehow the move rolled up it's sleeves when it arrived in Berlin, because from that moment on , this movie outshined all the other installments by a mile. The best 1st Act goes to John Wick: Parabellum , but besides that.. this movie rocks!
As a composer, studying music for film, I look forward to Tyler Bates's film score.
Absolutely 👌
