As an industrial blacksmith for many years, the axe head would go in the forge to knock out the old handle and while white hot I would re shape the handle hole with my pre formed axe head punches then reheat to draw out the blade on the power hammer once forge work was done bury the axe head in the coal ashes to normalise the steel to return it to its original state , then when cold cut and grind the sharp end grinding across the blade not vertical to the blade, if the joint needed welding this would be done while the axe head was dull red heat with a high tensile rod and not ground off to keep the strength of the weld then normal use . The handles were supplied by a local company and fitted to the customers requirements long or short, the wedge slit was pre cut and after at least a day in water we used a hard wood wedge and made two small steel wedges to go in horizontal to the main wedge and soaked again until the customer picked it up , the wood would be nice and swollen and advise the customer to soak it in water once a month if possible.
Работа конечно не плохая. Для очень начинающего чнловека. Но рукоять с дырами от термитов и клин из очень тонкого дерева это ОЧЕНЬ плохо.и срезание режущей кромки тоже плохо

One handed
"Молодец"... Срезал почти всю режущую часть с углеродкой. Можно было просто подточить кромку.😢
