That’s great restoration.
But quenching with soil is not necessary for cooking knife.
Why didn’t you use an original ring?

another forced rust patina "restoration" of a relatively new knife, and a ruined grain structure and brittle blade as wasn't normalised before heat treating an already heat treated blade
