    My uncle (who has now passed) specialized in restoring axes for people in town. Reminds me of the days of him and i hangin out in the shed turning old lost pieces of history into gold. There's something about axes that feels historic. RIP Uncle Mike

    I'm really glad you coated it with corrosion protection, there's lots of people on youtube restorating/forging metal not doing it and i always think: yeah it's not gonna look as nice in a realy short time

      Depending on what material you use but yes have to protect against oxidation

    Im from a part of mexico where we make and fix old tools. So, yes we appreciate things like this. Nice work the mirror finish is nice. We normally don't do that since we use every tool for every day chords. Lived in Cali for 30 years, no need to stay where we no longer feel welcome. But we are always grateful for what we learn. Keep hammering and grinding I will follow.

    I really enjoyed the fact that you explained why you altered the shape of the axe. Oftentimes with these types of videos it seems creators are almost afraid to explain their inner thought process to the viewer, but you have a passion for your craft and you seem to genuinely enjoy having an audience to share it with.     Excellent work man. Most guys just work it with angle grinder then polish. I like that you took the time wet sanding all the scratches out then buffed it.

    What did you keep spraying the axe with when sanding? From the aerosol can? Looked like brake cleaner?

    In my opinion you missed an opportunity to do matching texture on the grip area of the handle.. could've really brought it together and looked really nice.
    Just my opinion, just a suggestion.
    Either way, it looks awesome.
