This is awesome. Every time I hear the Grenadier Guards it makes me think of an old saying from a professor back in my undergrad brass pedagogy class… “A good brass section playing fortissimo is impressive, but a good trombone section on their own can play loud enough to make you want to leave the room.”
Fantastic so great to see them again! Great footage too! Superb! Marches played are: Through Bolts and Bars by Ernest Urbach Punjab by Charles Payne The Champion by Peter Graham Flying Eagle by Hermann Ludwig Blankenburg Cannatex by Vivian Dunn Bravest of the Brave by George Gay
Yo mate could you help me with the name of the march. It's in an old British Pathé clip from 1931, but I cannot for the life of me remember the name of the march at the beginning. ua-cam.com/video/ka67e49tdFo/v-deo.html It's in the link there. It's only the last sort of 30 seconds or so of the march.
finally the full band on parade once again!! what a feeling that mustve been when they marched out of victoria barracks! i wish i could go to see the ceremony but im not near london, wouldnt make it up intime
Was this on Tuesday ? Their website says it is not on Tuesday and Wednesday. I am going to London for 5 days next month and am planning on going there. Thank you.
What are the names of the Marches played on the March back from the castle? Also nice to hear a band play some fancy new tunes. Used to hearing the same like 10 marches all the time 😂😂
Again fantastic to see the full band and all the crowds. I’m sure it was a nice atmosphere. What is the name of the second March please anyone? I can’t remember and it’s driving me crazy !
@@militaryevents107 Thanks for the quick reply ! Seriously ?! Wow, I thought it’d be out of copyright by now. We played it for one season in the early 90’s
I think it’s because some of these marches are published on cds so UA-cam probably think that’s when the music was created when released but actually it was published 100 years ago! They need to do some education!
Jamie: many years ago I wore the badge of the RSF and have good memories of Scotland and a few years ago from London I took the overnight sleeper to Scotland and my opinion has not changed. I just feel sad of what Scotland is currently in the grip of!

An amazing playlist! Punjab, the champion, flying eagle, cannetex and bravest of the brave are pretty rare marches! You missed millanollo though.
@@militaryevents107 my bad missing the regimental march at the end! It was my tea time at that point lol!
Apologies The Champion was composed by Graham Arthur not Peter Graham.
Mind you, one of the best playlists I’ve seen in a while!

Awesome video mate
It was was lovely to see the band again and to hear music live. The Grenadier Guards band were great
oh look its papa luke
A question please. Can someone tell me what happened to necessitate heavily armed police first responders accompany the guards and band. Thanks.

That’s crazy!!! All these marches are over 100 years old and now in the public domain!

@@militaryevents107 thanks

Lump in the throat time. So glad some things never change
Good old Punjab March
are they our short friends that are wearing side arms???
EYY it's back!
🇮🇹 ⚽ There is also the Italian who teases, here I am 🤪
What was the deal with the two late comers that ran in behind band at the start? 😆
Coldstream
3:50
1:13 how come the captain guard was marching fairly close to the band asides looking to the side twise
Well maybe because we still have to distance out selfves
@harrymcandrew1447, he was looking to see where his escorts were-the two men who ran up beside him. No idea why they were so close behind the band
Heavy armed Police! wow! 6:36 someone called SWAT?
Pròis a bhith nad Albannach agus nad shaoranach san RA agus comasach air a bhith an làthair aig àm cho math!
Jamie, I quite agree! ;o)
Give us that in Scots, please.
