Nice Trout! To the naysayers…you gave the Trout every chance…and as we should all do with Trout over 20” “ Put Them Back! It’s hard to get that last part through to people…especially the ones that “frequent” those jetties. Thankfully the Game Warden is now checking licenses out there and hopefully thin out the horrible crowds that repeatedly abuse our Awesome fishery. Lord, another great video. Nice to see you at my "home" jetties,Quintana! I was raised in Freeport, and lived 15 min from jetties, of course it was longer times if the old drawbridge was open for boat traffic. Anyhow, thanks for the memories! Tight lines bro !!
Great video, Mark, that was some tough fishing conditions, but you produced some really nice trout and a couple of nice sheeps. I can't wait to see that monster Stella in action! Take care and be safe!
I live in New Mexico now but I grew up Feeshing that jetty ,man Quintana on Brian beach I caught so many feesh Including a Tarpon, Cobia and king fish, mostly big Drum red and black, and Flounder! I miss Flounder and Blue Crab and so many trout ! for big Feesh we used Homemade Surf rods out of Cane with Penn 409s .Thanks Bro Been Following you for a long time and great to see my old Feeshing Spots! God Bless
Awesome video Mark! Glad to see the trout are back at the jetties. I was wondering if you have a video showing your “home office” setup? I would like to see what storage you use for tackle, rods, reels, etc.

Yes they were! I stopped at the crawfish/bait store, I thought they accidentally gave my crawfish! I haven’t fish the Dike in 10 years, I kept some alive just to eat later😂😂
Nice video as always, but what most I like is to see you son fishing with you. I have seen him fishing with the other kids but I know one day he will said “when I fish the jetty with my dad” that will be one special memories. Quick question before I go… what app did you used to measure the wind? If you don’t mind mentioned. Tight lines buddy 👏🏻🤙🙏🏻
The Stella is nice. Will it be heavy? That is my issue. My arm starts to hurt. It was nice shaking hands with you at the fishing show. (George R. Brown)
Not trying to take up your time. Back in the late sixties I got my drivers license and I started fishing as much as possible. At St. Louis pass pier and the Surfside jetties was the best fishing from Humble. I had worked a while to be able to buy me a high dollar spinning reel and rod from Sears, Shakespear, and down to the jetties me and my fishing partner went. Same time of year you are showing when the trout come in. All we did is get hung up on the rocks when catching the trout. Very upsetting. Down toward the end was some black fisherman with bamboo fishing poles with heavy line and a hook with shrimp and was bringing in the big trout coming and going. I walked down and watched them and here I am with a “fancy” rig and not catching hardly anything and they were stacking them up. 🤬. I went home trying to figure my next move and I couldn’t haul a big pole like that. So, I found an extending 12’ pole, the heaviest I could find and it would fit in my car. And away I went to the jetties. Got down there and the other guys were back in their spot toward the end with their bamboo poles and they were impressed with my pole, which was not as heavy for getting in the real bigger fish, but I caught enough to enjoy and broke off plenty more. Me and those guys had a ball together and fished that whole season. Your, and your sons, videos bring back those memories. Thanks
Brother catching the big ones is way fun but I do like to eat fish. Did you get to keep any eaters cause I know you like to eat fish. I’ve seen some of your catch and cook and they always make me fish hungry. Can’t wait to see that 10.000 drag in some monsters
I kind of doubt that 24” speck survived that experience. They can’t take the abuse a redfish or sheepshead can. wetting the board helps but banging on those rocks is no bueno.
I’m gonna take off all the scales rubbing the trout on the rocks then throw it back in the water after keeping him out the water for longer than necessary, but I wet the measuring board so all is well.
Makes me want to hit the jetties. I haven't fished them in over 10 years. I never understood why people have the handle on one side with a bait cast and other side for spinning. Im a lefty and have both on the right.

Gotta love how you relate to your boy! Proud father! “Daddy” I Do the very same! So much respect, he will continue that legacy!!
It’s how I was raised by my dad. I love my family more than anything.

Mark, great meeting you both. I'm getting my fishing through you. Tuff weather. May be back out Wednesday.

Crushed it with the live shrimp! I need to start fishing with live bait again. Nice work sir 🙌

Thanks Daniel
Lol 😅 I'm right hand dominant but reel with my right hand too 😂Fish On! 🎣

Live shrimp at Texas City Dike were huge this week as well. Also saw an alligator soaking up sun on the kayak launch! 😅
Almost makes you want to eat them yourself. 😂

Great video! Love your professionalism! Monster trout! What is the app you use for weather conditions?
I use weather bug and wind finder pro.

I use NOAA’s website. Freeport Harbor Buoy
Sometimes trouser trout are thick at the Jetty Park

About 1.5 lbs in weight.
I think I would have let loose with several choice curse words when that net broke.
😂 I was very upset at that expensive net that broke twice.

When you stop and smile while fishing… that’s what it’s all about 🙌.

I’ll do my best to film the cooking when we eat fish again.

Hey bro what store did you buy the Hogie 5" Super from I'd like to try it out?
Ordered straight from Hogie’s
What brand of jetty rock shoves are they,
Simms Flyweight boots and HardBite cleats.
I’m 64 yrs old’ never heard of buying shrimp by the pint or Qrt.
That’s how it’s done in Texas.
Do you guys make your own rod holders?
My dad gave me these. I think a friend made them for him.
Mark, what’s that website you use to measure the conditions?
NOAA website
Can you do a video on how you put lines on your reels
I just put a screwdriver through the fishing line spool and use a rag to keep tension on it.
Question, what days were these trips done ?
April
Saludos saludos amigo aquí dejando mi like Houston
Thanks Marvin

😂I'm right dominate but all my reel has to be lefthanded...
As long as we bring fish in that's all that matters 👍
How many feet is your carnage 3 rod?
11’ and 9’
Using the 9’ in this video
Hook type and size please. Thanks for sharing.
Owner Inshore slam 3/8 oz 3/0 hook.
at 5.37 time of video what did u do? u gave a signal ,what does that mean ?
Someone caught a big trout, just telling them awesome job.

Hello, May I see your fishing leaders set up ?
I do my best to show them in the video. Thanks!

10000 real is not for bank fishing😂. That’s for deep sea fishing for tuna and grouper.
😂 it is when you buy it for that reason.
