This is the best video ever! I’m 68 and still remember my dad teaching and including me in his building projects. He didn’t care that I was a girl. I learned how to use all of his power tools and he taught me all of the tricks. My two sons also got to experience working with grandpa. We were so lucky. Thank you for including your sons. They will remember this forever.
absolutely agree...such a wonderful learning experience...and memories to treasure forever Jesse, thank you as always for an informative and thoroughly enjoyable video
I’ve smiled the whole way through. Your eldest boy seems so bright when helping you. He stays one step ahead when you were framing which shows he’s going to be a great builder, just like his Dad! Definitely a family built tiny home!
It is precious to watch you patiently teach and work with your boys. "Train up a child in the way he should go and when he is old he will not depart from it."
Good..!!! What an absolutely brilliant video, Jesse. Being that I'm a British viewer in the UK, this video just highlights what I perceive as the American dream. Out in the country building a cabin with your family and for your family. Kaiden, You are a phenomenal young man with a strong willingness to learn and a brilliant work ethic. Helping your Dad and taking part is more than most kids do these days. I know this channel doesn't feature useless sponsorship, but it would be awesome if a tool manufacturer or supplier saw Kaidens' potential and invested in his future with a fully loaded toolbox of his own. This young man is learning so many valuable life skills. The boys are definitely growing up quickly and have taken inspiration from those around them like Pat. When Noah shouted Good..! I couldn't stop laughing. Well done, I really enjoyed this video Regards Austin
MULLER & SONS CONSTRUCTION What a milestone video this was Jesse! To see your sons working with you for hours and hours on this off grid cabin project was awesome! A man with a plan is what you are Jesse!! Great heartwarming video♥
From a guy that didnt have the best dad, you are a great father! You can litteraly see the kids grow from each episode, not just their bodies but their minds. Great work.
Your Sons is developing the best work ethic. Love seeing father and sons work and play together like seeing your brother work with ya too like all your videos !
Bro you know its going to be a great day when Jesse drops a 3 hour long video. One of my favorite people on UA-cam. I love the long-form videos. Thanks so much for doing these for us and taking us along on your amazing life journey.
Good job Jesse. Dad of the year award to you. I’m a 70 y.o. Retired framing contractor that didn’t get to teach my kids like you are doing. Forever regretting it too. This old man salutes you. You should be proud.
Oh boy..... Jesse is giving us a 3 hour and 50 minutes video. Thanks Jesse. I know it will be a good one as always. Hope you and your family had a great and happy Thanksgiving.
yea alot of times I make pieces calculating off other pieces, without measuring. usually more efficient but sometimes certain things dont get calculated right
@@jmuller86 Wow you seem to be an excellent father for your children and also a good guy Jesse otherwise I don't know he is at what age but Kaiden is really mature and of great help and also seems to be a good brother for Noah
I’m sitting here crying my eyes out watching you and your boys build that cabin, my dad and I built our house growing up and then later a cabin. This is just bringing up a bunch of good memories. I haven’t had a good cry in a long time.😢
This is a magical life you are giving your kids. All the choices you have ever made in your lifetime has led up to these moments - which will in turn enrich their lives, their kids' lives, and onward. I really can't stress enough how much you are putting into the world - not only with how you raise a family, but how you share your approach to it. Amazing work, Jesse.
I Love how your sons do their best to help. Techeing Kaden the correct way, and Love noah trying to help as well. I SO enjoyed this video, and WOW to the drone scenery shots. I LOVE little Noah asking if he can come up on the roof. Wants to be so much like his dad! Awesome when your wife comes to help you with the wrapping for the cabin and with the front door and Aiden is installing the front door locks and nobs. such a blessed family. looking forward to more videos on this family cabin property. Will you, at some point repair and update the lage cabin that your parents had?? will they at some point be up there as well??
Young man, you are a wonderful man and father! I'm 85 and still love building because my dad included me when he built our house. I love it! Don't forget to teach them about the most famous carpenter, Jesus! 😊❤😊❤😊❤
Best 3 hours we’ve ever watched on UA-cam! Awesome work Jesse! We have a place up in Bleecker NY so we can relate to the beautiful Adirondacks! Wonderful to watch your awesome boys pitch in and enjoy the life you are creating for them! Caden was a big help and my love was just enamored with Noah with every shot…”so cute!”we just had a wonderful Saturday evening watching you and your family thrive and obtain your dreams! Thank you!
Wow, it was so great to see you and your boys helping with the tiny cabin. Nearly 50 years ago our family built a winterized 24’x30’ cottage in Northern Alberta with many weekend trips, while my wife had to work, with my two sons, about the same age as your boys, driving nails. I had construction power but no battery or pressurized gas tools. My sub floor over the insulation was 1x6 t&g boards that my old tarp didn’t keep all the rain out during our return to the city - bad mistake. My sons love to still build structures although as hobbies, their work being quite different. I am proud of how great a product they produce so expect you will see the same result. In retirement in Nova Scotia I am back building things with my sons, a 12x16 insulated beach house, several decks and stairs to the beach and a solar lumber kiln just starting. My younger son purchased a bandsaw mill this year and with a supply of saw logs on the property, he will have a lumber supply for projects into his retirement that starts next week. Enjoy your videos and the great interaction with your helpers. I worrry about the potential for theft/vandalism at your site. We never had a problem so hope you are also secure. We never had too much to steal compared to all the materials at your site.Take care.
This winter I am restoring a rice rocket that I bought in 1985. It was a mistake to let it sit for as long as it has so there is enough work to do. It took me two days to watch this video as I continued to get up to tinker with my bike parts. I can watch Jesse's videos all day.
Jesse, I think you have done a phenomenal job on this property and tiny house, and I wish you the best in all of your dreams you have, can't wait for the coming videos to see how things progress.
I set here and watched the hole video.. love to see you teaching your boy all your tricks. They will remember that for years to come.Thatś so cool to come back to where you was raised . Thanks.. S E Texas
Your children are so helpful, the memories you're building are far greater than the cabin, you're a top dad and all you're teaching is more important than the school teaches 👏👍 best wishes from the UK 🇬🇧+🇺🇸
Jesse You are the best, you can do almost everything, and how good it is that you teach the boys different technologies, there will definitely be a good future for the boys. Thank you for your videos, from Belgium.
You’re a great father! You always have time for your boys.Thank you for sharing your story with us.I just realized something I was watching Andrew and you happen to be in the same lumber yard at the same time .He Must be a neighbor.Thank you Ed from Michigan
As I watched you working, I was like “When is he going to take a break?”, I’m exhausted just watching you work 😂. Great job, and it’s tough doing everything mostly on your own (no subcontractors)
Great job so far, didn't expect you would get dried in in this video! One tip with the diesel heater, just suspend the fuel pump on some loops of cable ties, makes a huge difference with the sound! I have the same kind of membrane pump in my van, only in 12V, they are really nice but can also make a lot of noise, I would recommend to mount it on some wide rubber rings made from hydraulic hose, short bolt and nut for the pump feet, woodscrews for mounting it to the surface.Should look like the pump sitting on mini tires then... Thanks a lot for the XXL video that brought me through a cold afternoon! 👍👍👍
Everything is very very impressive, you, your family, your lifestyle, your work skills and knowledge, your attitude - everything. All the very best to you and your family Jesse.
🇮🇪☘️🇺🇸 Blessings upon you and yours - truly you are the epitome of young 🇺🇸American MEN and Daddies that built our & continue to build our country. Teaching thier children patiently with love how to be INDEPENDENT SELF RELIANCE SELF RESPECT, what working hard brings. And not wanting nor needing the government in your life !!! Standing ovations!!!!! America is returning 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
God has been good to you. You have gotten so much done with no major accident. You are sharing memories with your sons that they will remember forever. All of this in "God's country." Keep safe and give thanks!!! ❤❤❤❤ Also, every time you are working with your sons is part of their home schooling. Mom is doing excellent on her end, also. Kayden's vocabulary is excellent. Great job Mom and Dad.
Add an Exhaust fan into the Shower Bathroom area There are 2 type of heater we use at my father's place in December, Pellet wood stove.. A 5 gallon pellet wood runs for about 10hrs.. on low settings in a 250sqm.. 2nd is Helogen Electrical rod heater (has 2 setting... a 300w and a 600w...clean heat..no moisture)
This is probably my favorite video to date. The editing was perfect. I hesitated to watch, because usually the long videos have little to no editing and have to fast forward a lot. Thank you for the great edit and sharing the special memories you’re building with your kids!
I live in tupper lake up the Adirondacks the mountain views are amazing and unbelievable at night with how dark it gets with little to no light pollution the stars are amazing
Soon we going to two new carpenters is amazing to you two really like to getting involved in the cabin building it reminded me when I was young age I started working at age of 5 years old and today I considered my self workaholic I always love to work not many people can say that. Happy thanks giving to you all from London England 🇬🇧
Fond Memories - when I was in my early teens, my grandmother bought an unusual piece of property in New Hampshire. A camping site was being sold. She bought the outhouse. It was on three acres at the southern end of lake Winona. The outhouse wasn't really an outhouse, it was the facilities, toilets, showers, sinks. over several years the outhouse became a cabin, only one toilet was kept, one shower was kept, and two sinks were kept. A sleeping porch was built along the front, and two bedrooms were built along the back. Sadly, when my mom died the property was sold. Other than the bugs in the springtime, I love New Hampshire, and I miss it a lot.
Ah Yes Alaska, I miss it. I live in central Minnesota, but before that I lived in Alaska for 25 years. I miss the mountains and my wood stove. Keep your dreams alive!
Talk about teaching the 'why', and not the 'just because'. Way to go, DAD! You've instilled a self-awareness in these boys as to how the world works in a physical way they can reflect on daily. It was great to see the switch come on in your older sons' eyes when he started to understand what you wanted head of time instead of asking. Just beautiful. Way to go man. Seriously, way to go!!
I live in the city of Houston Texas and I’m a backyard gardener and I’ve been at it for years and I made great compost just with scraps grass clippings leaves, cardboard, old potting soil anything that’s a matter I use I make a really good compost and I’ve been doing it for a while and it made some good amount as well I do a lot so I always have a scrap bucket in my kitchen and it’s probably I don’t know 3 gallons. I’d probably empty out every other day and I mean everything paper towels, newspaper whatever I have that I can use as organic matter if I clean out my fridge and have some onions or something sprouting I put it in the compost. Everything goes in the compost . 🌱
Nothing short then Amazing! And the milled wood covering the cabin looks absolutely fantastic. Younger generation should watch your videos and learn what work ethics is all about. Thank you so much Jesse.
I got to give you your proper respect, you teach your boys as you build and as far as I see you are patient with them. My husband had a father who could build anything, wire and plumbing but he was so impatient with his boys that they never wanted to do anything with him to learn what he knew. It was very sad, because when we had children he didn’t teach them any of what he knew. I am so proud of you as a man. You’re a great father to your boys. 😊
I've been a carpenter/builder for 45 years and I found myself being with you all the way, tilting and twisting my phone as you were lifting walls and putting the end pair of rafters into place!😂♥️👍
Jesse does it right. He is a very knowledgeable builder; his skills make him versatile in many trades. His boys are lucky to have him as their mentor. Sistering OSB on the second-floor joists and adding the bridging will increase the floor rigidity significantly.
Great build you have done there, Jesse. (Due to the video length, I had to watch it in multiple viewing). But what i love most was the cabin 'skin', I love the way it made the boards seem to 'melt'. Cannot wait for your next adventure. Cheers from Aust 🇦🇺.
Usually I laugh about american wood and cardboard houses and all the weird feetinches that make no sense :) But this little cabin came out great, the outside sheeting with the natural wood looks awesome. Getting the kids to learn and help is also great :)
It also just makes me happy to be able to watch youtube somewhere close to home because the adks are small little towns here and there not to many people in each town
Everything I mean Everything looks fantastic love your work you're a hard working man and from what I can tell an awesome father hope the wife treats you well and similarly you treat her well look forward to watching your videos every week thanks Jesse
You are building something your kids will remember being part of. A place and experience(s) that are passed down. Priceless experiences. I've enjoyed watching your adventure in this endeavor from afar. I think what I enjoy most about it is that it reminds me of my youth and my experiences. May God continue to bless you and your family!
I think I just watched the definition of “Master of all trades”. Your knowledge appears to be infinite. Your kids will never forget this time, love it.
Awesome man. I could see you making a decent living just building little energy efficient and independent cabins for people! Hopefully this goes Viral like some of the other cabin build videos I've seen out there cause this is really nice!
Yea I was thinking of incorporating this into that investment property. Build a huge like 40x40 walkout basement with the ICF decking and then put a little 16x20 tiny house on top of part of it, the rest would be a big open concrete deck. Would be cheap to build and I think it would be neat
You and Ants Pants are the hardest working people on YT and maybe anywhere. I am always excited to see what you have accomplished. I am 82 and likely won't be doing what you are but I still enjoy learning even if I am probably not going to use it. You are doing a great job training your boys to work and to do it right. Keep up the good work. You needed a permit but do you also need inspections?
I'm only 4 minutes in and I have to comment. I couldn't see that the trailer was loaded with lumber. The whole intro I'm thinking, "Why is he driving an empty trailer??" Now I see he brought up the forks and a ton of wood. Got it. Carry on!!
I love how you edit. I wonder why you did something a certain way, and then you come back later and finish up where it gets explained. Great show. As a side note....we struggled with pipes for years until we eventually took the shower head off, screwed on a 1/4" air fitting and back blew the whole system back to a faucet near the well.(we have a tee at the pitless) when that thing blows air, we're done. No problems since. We can get to -30 F.
This is amazing, Jesse! I didn't think you were going to even start building until the Spring... but this is WAY better. I love the live edge siding! I can't wait until the next videos on this.
Great video, and...Having 2 boys, myself, a little older, 10 and 13,....this hits me heartily =) I am older than you also, 64, but have to say, how you teach your boys different things, and WORK, is something else!! They will be so, so Grateful one day for all your teaching, advices, no University could not do it ! You can learn basics from the book, but.....doing it really teach you the best ! That for the video, I sure learned a lot, will do some of your stuff, at my own Summer Cabin, right on Arctic Circle, Rovaniemi , Finland, when I go there next Summer, like Solar System, and maybe Water Heater System, I am also Off Grid, have no electricity, and have Outhouse in there. Greetings from South Florida, where I live now, it is getting cooler here too, love it, like 72 tomorrow ;o)
I remember the foundation tubes going in. It was very muddy if I remember correctly. Mum and dad’s cabin was getting a new roof around the same time. These kids are getting the best upbringing a parent could wish for. GUD. 😂😂👍👍 I thought you had abandoned the project but two new houses put it back.
Your boys are awesome. They are such hard workers. This experience will last a life tome and I am sure this wooded retreat will become cherished - a special place for them. Thanks for sharing.
Long video Jesse but each time you post I make the time to watch it. Your project and following your dream is spot on! For me watching you include your boyz in this build is exactly how I was brought up and I have indelible memories and respect for parents who make those memories! Great job on all fronts! Until your next post keep the course!!
Thanks for sharing! Sounds so beautiful!
absolutely agree...such a wonderful learning experience...and memories to treasure forever
Jesse, thank you as always for an informative and thoroughly enjoyable video
Your kids are foresure going to have a bright future! We need more fathers like you in this world! Your doing great work my friend, much respect!
Hard-working boys taught by a hard-working and caring father or father figure make great men. Its a fact.
This is absolutely going to be a core memory for them in the future.
Your son was brilliant and he will tell his grandchildren how he helped his dad build the cabin. Priceless memories.
Wait until they start on the big cabin. he will be telling the younger one what to do. He might even be allowed on the roof.
I’ve smiled the whole way through. Your eldest boy seems so bright when helping you. He stays one step ahead when you were framing which shows he’s going to be a great builder, just like his Dad! Definitely a family built tiny home!

The time I spent building thing with my dad were the most valuable in my 50 years of life. Your son will cherish these times!
Doesn't matter what ur working on or building....It's always time well spent watching it!!! One of the best channels on UA-cam!!!
We used to camp at Eighth Lake in the late 50"s . We would go to the dump and watch the bears.
Your boys seem so happy all the time. Such great helpers too.
Good video Jesse still waiting for the dream truck
From a guy that didnt have the best dad, you are a great father! You can litteraly see the kids grow from each episode, not just their bodies but their minds. Great work.

Oh boy..... Jesse is giving us a 3 hour and 50 minutes video. Thanks Jesse. I know it will be a good one as always. Hope you and your family had a great and happy Thanksgiving.
"Its not treated, and its not heavy" 😂 Your boys crack me up. Glad to see you getting your dreams accomplished. Very uplifting. Keep at it!
I couldn't ask for a better way too spend a cold afternoon, Thanks for almost 4 hours of entertainment.
The short 2x4 on the window sill was good. I'm glad you kept that in. Like the side arm.

It was great to see the switch come on in your older sons' eyes when he started to understand what you wanted head of time instead of asking. Just beautiful. Way to go man. Seriously, way to go!!
I live in the city of Houston Texas and I’m a backyard gardener and I’ve been at it for years and I made great compost just with scraps grass clippings leaves, cardboard, old potting soil anything that’s a matter I use I make a really good compost and I’ve been doing it for a while and it made some good amount as well
I do a lot so I always have a scrap bucket in my kitchen and it’s probably I don’t know 3 gallons. I’d probably empty out every other day and I mean everything paper towels, newspaper whatever I have that I can use as organic matter if I clean out my fridge and have some onions or something sprouting I put it in the compost. Everything goes in the compost . 🌱
Man, youre gonna get alot of projects done once their legs are long enough to pedal and brake on the trucks, excavator and skid steer - awesome!
Nothing short then Amazing!
And the milled wood covering the cabin looks absolutely fantastic.
Younger generation should watch your videos and learn what work ethics is all about.
Thank you so much Jesse.
Excellent job. Great to see the young helper. He will remember for ages.
brilant job jess your boys are getting the best eduction, invaluable knowledge,
Cabin is looking good. I love seeing you and the boys working together and you taking the time to teach them!!
Very nice job and outstanding bonding time with the boys, you are correct never can put a price on that. Good luck Jesse.
Jesse you are a great dad, watching you work with your two shortys bings back a lot of good memories of spending time with my dad
I've been a carpenter/builder for 45 years and I found myself being with you all the way, tilting and twisting my phone as you were lifting walls and putting the end pair of rafters into place!😂♥️👍
Lol
Jesse does it right. He is a very knowledgeable builder; his skills make him versatile in many trades. His boys are lucky to have him as their mentor. Sistering OSB on the second-floor joists and adding the bridging will increase the floor rigidity significantly.
Great build you have done there, Jesse. (Due to the video length, I had to watch it in multiple viewing). But what i love most was the cabin 'skin', I love the way it made the boards seem to 'melt'. Cannot wait for your next adventure. Cheers from Aust 🇦🇺.
Usually I laugh about american wood and cardboard houses and all the weird feetinches that make no sense :)
But this little cabin came out great, the outside sheeting with the natural wood looks awesome.
Ahhh the sweet sweet smell of child labor, love it. 😂
Thank you for being such a cool dad and getting your kids involved
Mate, Your Best Vid Yet, Your Numerous Abilitues, Work ethic, and Most importantly, Love of Family shines through!
Cheers From Australia
Great job on so many levels man! The build, the video, your work ethic, and including your kids all was awesome!
Awesome work boy's...dad's a great teacher....plenty of patience....well done dad
This video deserves so much more than a thumbs up!! Thank you for putting all the work in to making this video!
You needed a permit but do you also need inspections?
yea I needed a permit and also building and electrical inspections
Some UA-camrs would spend an entire episode putting on a sheet of drywall. Thank you for making a whole video.
Superb cinematography- loved the way you broke up the repetitive bits -siding/roof etc😊🇬🇧
love these long vids... aint much snow going to be on that roof long ... great job on the whole thing ...
I'm only 4 minutes in and I have to comment. I couldn't see that the trailer was loaded with lumber. The whole intro I'm thinking, "Why is he driving an empty trailer??" Now I see he brought up the forks and a ton of wood. Got it. Carry on!!
Great job Dad! You're killin it!
I love the boys helping. Great video Jesse.
So excited for a video from Jesse! Always makes for a great weekend!
A gingerbread cabin! Great work, I really enjoyed the involvement of your children in the project.
I love watching your kids working with you
He's got the best crew ever!
