Thank you for the honest review. Sorry about the delayed release of the Derringer tuner for the 2.8. The reason for the delay is that in order command the horsepower that we want, FRP and MAP aren't enough. We have to add timing and adjust injector pulsewidth. Both of these features take a lot of time to develop... more time than it took to get your Block8Head pod. Haha.
@@justin3663 the last thing that I've heard from them the chip shortage is causing issues. I have nothing on an ETA. When the 2.8 Derringer comes out I will have a video about it.
@@RepairGeek thanks for all your vids on Colorado's. Had mine for a little over a month and your vids have been a great source of information for me. Just ordered a Banks idash, seen them for a while and wanted one on previous trucks. Sure enough when googling about it for a Colorado you have a vid for it and helped sell me on it!
Like you mention, high and low warnings are a must! I also have a 6.6L Duramax (2009 3500HD Dually) which I haul a truck camper with. Yesterday I was driving across WA state in 90+ ambient temps. The ECT and EGTs were running high, when the alarms go off at my "high" set points, I back off the throttle. On that truck I use the Edge Insight CTS2.
Exactly most trucks have those warnings built in but the thresholds are way too high. My Colorado will pop a transmission temperature warning at 260 degrees. If you ever got it that hot the damage has been done already.
I've had the iDash since April when I bought my 2.8 Colorado. I want that gauge pod too, but the seller is impossible to get in touch with to order it, plus his website doesn't give any info on ordering it for a Colorado/Canyon. I've read other people having the same experience as you had - they contact him, he says "it's shipping tomorrow" but never shows up until weeks later.
Great review. Just saw this product on Tfl truck installed on a new tacoma, and got me yearning for data on my 23 f150 3.5 ecoboost; darn digital gauges don't show numerical data, total fail on Ford, as it's a digital cluster, I would think it would be easier to program the gauges to just display the numerical data than the graphic gauges that are stock🤷🤦. Will be purchasing.
Yes the sending unit has a max reading of about 48%. That is why the dash says DEF level "OK". Once it drops below about 45% you can see the actual reading.
Yeah I'm not going to lie, the diff cover series got me hooked on their channel. I've went back and watched a lot of the old videos and those are good as well.
Some of Banks's tuning devices are able to convert the signal for the Idash. So something like an old 6 gun module for a 7.3/6.0 truck will intercept all the PCM's signals and make them readable by the Idash by plugging the Idash directly into the 6 gun rather than the OBD port. An Idash won't work without a 6 gun on a truck that old.

@Banks Power any idea when it will finally come out?

Great review! - How can I get MPG fuel economy, using the iDash?
Does this display the odometer by chance?
I bought a pod off etsy and i had it at my door four days later. It’s 3D printed but it looks like good quality and has great reviews.

How do I order the mount I want that kind for my third gen Toyota Tacoma.
GOOD VIDEO Geek LITTLE pain in the but waiting for 4 month's sucks good job
Does the dash super gauge 1.8 for $300 still allow you to activate regen manually ??
Yes.
Does your Colorado def parameter only stay between 40-49%? I’ve filled it up full to the point it overfills and it’s never moved the percentage

@@RepairGeekdo you think replacing the def pump with a 2020 model give me a full percentage? Since they have a percentage showing all the time.

I can't find oil psi or trans temp for my 08 tbss
I ordered one and it did not come with the OBD2 plug in play. Make sure you order the right one like I did not.
Tried installing this on my Subaru BRZ but it won't turn on. I know all subarus are canbus cars. I'm not really sure where to go from here.
turns out, my obd 2 port has some bad pins.
Been watching Gayle Banks ever since they teamed up with Amsoil.

Does this unit tell when I need to regen my diesel colorado? Or what percentage my regen is at?
Yes it will. That is what I use mine for as well. You can also force a regen when you want to.
@@RepairGeek Brilliant. Thanks, looks like I got me a new gauge. Now if only I can find that pod that fits my defrost vent.
You can trigger both a driving regen and a parked regen with the Super Gauge/Data Monster.
Do you have to install a probe to monitor egts for the 2.8?
No. EGR 1/1 is the EGT pid.
Can it tell you what gear you are in?
Yes, and if the torque converter is locked.
Good video bro. Fuel pressure is not read is it?
It's in there you just need to select it.
Why can’t you run on 2008 or older vehicles got ob2 in 1996
Pre 2008 is not CAN. Control Area Network

Dawn redwood bonsi
Worst gauge EVER, too damn small to read while driving, completely useless.
Showing 8 parameters on 1 screen (the max #) the numbers on the Idash are the same size as the numbers on my speedo and tach.
