A Visit to Banks Power to install the Pedal Monster and iDash Super Gauge

- Time to install a Banks Pedal Monster and iDash into my 2020 Ram 2500. Notoriously these trucks have significant lag in pedal response. However, Banks Power has come out with a unit that works with most vehicles on the market that is safe to use and does not mess with your ECM. So lets get into the specifics on how this module and monitoring unit can help improve your vehicles throttle response.

I normally don't drive my truck much but my brother installed one in my truck the other day and now I just want to drive my truck. It's like having a new toy. Incredible product
I ordered mine last night, CAN'T WAIT TO GET IT IN!!! This will bring my 2020 L5P to monster level!!! Great video guys!! Next on the list will be an iDash!
Very nice explanation at (16:14). Bravo for Banks.
I took mine off before going to the dealership and it left nothing behind im actually really impressed on how well this works. The throttle response is amazing!!!!!!
Just got the Pedal Monster and idash today and I’ll be installing it tomorrow. Thanks for the video.
Lmk your thoughts.
@@travishess8790 6mos. after getting the truck I had added a fuel module but never got the get go that I was looking for. Adding the Banks PedalMonster, WOW that’s what I was looking for. City mode at 50% is where I usually keep it for daily driving. Sport mode 50% when I need to merge into traffic and to get around and pass those slow moving vehicles. Track mode 100% at the light when that guy next to you thinks he’s got you but you show him. iPhone app is nice for a quick change between modes when stopped, but having the iDash Data Monster allows you to adjust between modes on the fly while monitoring and recording. I had to get the OBDII splitter as I also have the AMP steps plugged in. Overall I’m happy with the investment and would recommend to anyone else who is looking. This was added to my 2017 Ram Laramie 3500 Crew Cab LB SRW with Aisin trans.
Bought my Ram 2500 Laramie Diesel in February, Did notice the big lag towing my 5th wheel. my neighbor showed off his in a 2021 3500 Big Horn, Absolutely impressed then, more impressed now. Thanks, You just got me off the fence and mine is on order today, Great review !
WOW, i just installed mine on my 2021 Ram power wagon in track mod on 8, throttle is always in the meat on the torque curve, instant throttle response it's like a whole new truck passing is now problem or merging on the highway, it will be interesting in the rain and snow i am sure i will have to dial it back some. thanks Banks
Instantly headed over to their website!
Great video, Travis! The Banks guy is legit.
Very much appreciated.
Thanks another item to spend money on for my new to me truck... excellent vid
Just got a 21’ Ram 6.7, definitely considering this! I’ll probably do the dry filter air intake as well! Awesome review!
Do both! Exhaust brake sounds amazing. And the power and improved fuel mileage is crazy! I drive with Track 10 everywhere and still get 3-3.5mpg better above stock with the S&B dry filter
Nice ima get one these now for my 19’ 3500
It will be a whole new truck
Nice truck!! been starting the MOD process on my 2020 RAM 2500 Mega Cab, I should have a bunch of AEV stuff on it by the end of the month, watch for updates.....
Great looking truck and video. I love the thumbnail but would love to see exterior pictures and know more about the suspension and wheel/tire combo.
I installed it on my 2019 Ram 6.4 and it's amazing, I just stay in city mode, the pedal lag is not gone and the truck responds quickly once it's moving. From a dead stop and pushing the peddle to 1st movement lag is not going away, but it zips through gears quicker and more snappy.
I just installed pedal monster on Monday 12.7.20 on my 2020 F250 7.3 , OH MY. My truck is sooooo much fun NOW, the 7.3 is AWAKE!!!!
As Aladdin says, it’s a whole new world
@@travishess8790 🤣
I’m sold.
I need a OBD II power strip with all these plug in gadgets
And it is proudly made in the USA...
Where are u located? I wonna feel it!
I’m picking mine up tomorrow at banks! Stoked about it
Clicked just to see a truck with normal sized wheels and big tires. Looks amazing and just right. I hate the huge wheel thin sidewall tire trend.
Agreed the chromed out 22” wheels with undersized tires stretched over them looks like the “ricer” crowd got into truck builds and has got to make your truck ride like shit.
Thank you. I like my trucks to be functional and be able to go off-road safely
I’ve got to know your wheel and tire set up man. Awesome look on that truck. I just bought a 2020 Cummins and love this look.
So at that time I was running General Grabber X3 in a 37 on some Innov8 G500 Beadlocks in a 17x9. Now it’s on the same wheels but BFG KM3 39x13.5x17
I have a question how did you set your tire size on your truck? Did you use the pedal monster?
So in max track mode at half throttle is the rest of the pedal movement useless?
Mine will be here today. Do you not have to disconnect the negative battery before installing as I've seen in other videos?
Just ordered mine today for my ram 1500 that has the v6. I just wanted to know does this have any effect on transmission wear at all as this will definitely be engaged at all times lol.
Hi,
I have a 2020 Ram 2500 mega cab, leveled on 37’s and interested in buying the pedal monster. It’s been 10 months since you have installed yours. Any issues? Check engine lights? Or just any issues at all? fuel economy?
Thanks for your time!
Fred
Does having the iPhone option let you clear codes as the Supergauge does?
I’m sold lol
Will this work if my truck is already tuned?
I want to add this to my 2018 Cummins 6.7 that has a Raceme tuner. Can i have both plugged into my ODB II port without having issues with both plugged in at the same time?
Can you run this with a banks tuner too
Track mode. Who takes a ram 2500 6.7 to the track. Is this component hard on the transmission.
I got one but must have instalked wrong no.power to unit no lights
I just installed mine. And works great BUT NOW MY CAMERAS AREN'T WORKING 😡 WHAT CAN I DO??
A candle that burn twice as bright burns half as long
Hey man I can reprogram your TPMS to whatever you want it to be! I saw your dash screen was red around the tire pressures.
That would be rad. Hit me up on IG
How much do you charge?
Mine won't activate unless I open the app every single time i get in the truck and it stays on when the truck is off and killed my battery
no check engine light?
I have one for my 2020 charger; however I may not install it because he said something that made me cringe. Using more fuel 😩
My only problem with this product. I NEED 3!!! 19Miata/20Grand Cherokee5.7/20Ram6.7
How about a 05 Dodge 3500 , what you got ?
how about an lml only because it has the worst sponge pedal out of all the duramax series
So how was the performance and responsiveness of the pedal commander vs pedal monster?
Pedal monster provides a safe means of gaining responsiveness and many more levels of response. Paired with an data monster you can view a slew of things processing through your obd
Tools needed to install banks paddle monster
What about the amp power step. Already plugged into the OBD
Banks thought ahead of that and provide a Y connector.
@@travishess8790 how much cost the y i need one but i have power step
Pedal monster going into the 2021 ram 2500 6.7 today!!!! Maybe I’ll make my first UA-cam video
where that video. lol thats same truck i got
Results?
Can you adjust the settings via Android Auto once the app is paired?
You can with the pedal monster installed with the banks app
Does your phone always have to on/connected for this to work? Or does it remember where it was set previously?
It remembers the last setting you had.
I was going to ask the same thing. Awesome sounds like a must have item!
I INSTALL THE PEDAL Monster on my Ramm 3500 HO,( single wheel ) pedal works good in all Stages,But I got the
Service pedal light and the check engine lights, any sugestion?
Any update on how you fixed it?
How much how much did the fuel mileage suffer compared to factory even if your soft on the throttle in sport mode?
I actually have seen it improved because the lag tends to overdue it whereas now I have control of the power
Must reduce mpg
With the number of things wanting to pull power from my OBD I'm gonna need a freaking 12 way splitter. Edge wants an OBD, AMP steps want an OBD, this thing want's an OBD, Tuner wants an OBD. It never ends.
That's why all the Banks devices share a single OBD connection.
@@bankspower I wasn't so much commenting on the Banks system as much as the fact that everything want's to use the OBD2 port. If I was bought into the Banks system it would make sense assuming I could daisy chain the idash units and your derringer (which I haven't looked into but assume is possible by the comment).
I have a 2018 3500 dully. I will be towing heavy, will this be a good idea and what setting should it be on?
It will definitely help. I would keep it in city and mess with those levels.
Unfortunately a buddy of mine bought one of these for his Chevrolet, did NOT do as advertised. Still had the "dead pedal" as mentioned in this video. 👎
Maybe install error. You sure it wasn’t a different manufacturer because that would be a first to hear it did “nothing”
@@travishess8790 It did something. It DID change it for sure, but the "dead pedal" part (being able to step down on the accelerator and have instant speed) was still there unfortunately.
I also had a pedal commander on my ‘19 Ram ...... damn near killed me , it went to full throttle on its own for a second then to limp mode as I was coming up to a red light that company should be put outta business
I've been a Bank's customer for 20 years and I think your statement is borderline ridiculous. I'm not saying your experience didn't happen but that they should be put out of business? Bank's sometimes gets criticized by the diesel power world but only because they don't go crazy pushing the limit of power. Their products are extremely well developed and researched. They make great power but always with an eye on engine longevity and common sense.
Did you talk to the Banks folks? I am 100% sure they would have taken a very serious look at what happened to see if they could make a determination and if needed, they would have made any corrective steps needed.
Glad you didn't get hurt.
@@alexregonly I’m talking about banks !! Pedal Commander is the company I’m talking about .
@@Norm2120 I missed the difference in product name and stand corrected. Please accept my apology.
@@alexregonly it’s all good , just wanted to clear up I have no issues with Banks their products are top notch
@@Norm2120 "not"
Is this on a 2500 or 3500 ? 3500 has the HO with Aisin
Not all 3500 are ho engines nor are they all aisen transmissions that’s an upgrade on both
Bullshit my pedal commander works perfectly
The luxuriant wine extraorally part because toothbrush conclusively unfasten excluding a wry hearing. misty, diligent pisces
This is so stupid. When you think youre giving it 1/4 throttle, youre really giving it 3/4. Its the difference of just "flooring" it.
Point to where this product hurt you.
Pedal Monster is a joke.
