With regards to the 5% size increase, it makes sense considering the tree is called Colossus. I personally love it from a flavor perspective.
Also just the fact that 5% increase in visible size does not automatically mean 5% in hitbox size. I find it better to play with bigger races because it makes my character more visible

Feels like the pvp build for arms
Since the warrior discord channel's (tentative) consensus through DF was haste/crit for Prot anyways, this is looking like a really good doubling down on that perspective.

This is the most hyped tree so far for me, and that they are looking at the talent tree is amazing......i just have to have copium that we will get some useful group utility in TWW.
As prot main i wish they added more cc, that what all am asking for, looking at the mountain thane and now collosus, they failed to do so, only some changes for shockwave at that's it, prot is fine as is if you aim for 20 and a bit up, but when we wanna aim for higher rating than it's becoming really obvious cc is more important, looking at Veng DH with sigils now its super op given the current M+ state required a lot of cc
bliz just wrote somethin bout the colossus hero ability - the 3 hits will ramp up in damage and last one will do a BOOM CRACK EARTH rewarding efect :D... coming to my mind was Anduin defending King Greymane in bfa cinematic right before droping the sword and calling the light.
was really hoping we'd say prot warrior bring something unique with the colossus hero talents-- was hoping to see it be the only tank that brings Mortal Strike, maybe via shield slam or revenge. warrior really needs something unique, and we're just pretty average across the board right now.
Tank main here since vanilla, I played prot warrior for so long but gave it up around wrath cause it just started to become a pain cause blizzard never knew how to balance it. I’m hoping that prot warrior makes a return! Great videos keep it up

demolish will just be like rampage surely?
Blizzard have just clarified that Fists of Fury can be cancelled. So if you miss time it, you can at least cancel it and move from a potentially dangerous mechanic. This will no doubt affect dps but at least you may live to tell the tale :)
But do we get anything of value in M+ thats what matters, mass pull, mass silence, grouping mobs

Arterial bleed will be a 20% boost to bleed damage once you get unstoppable force. I mean it won’t be all the time, but it’s probably going to give more overall damage.
Perks to shock is nice, but the rest does excite for prot
The biggest issue with this tree is that this damage is not just going to come from nowhere. It will be taken from the main rotation to be added back in through Demolish and the supporting talents. So you'll lose some consistent damage to funnel more damage into these channeled windows. Maybe not a big issue, but since so much of the tree just builds straight up damage, the only talents to really consider are the like 3 talents that aren't directly related to Demolish. Do you like those? shockave, ignore pain, and 5% bigger. Everything else you can just assume will be taken from the spec to be re added in with these talents.
If you like the playstyle of yet another short CD damage button then ok, but always remember the damage isn't being added, but rather shifted.
How do you know it's being shifted? There are no damage tooltips released yet. If mortal strike does 200k and you can use 2 x MS in the same time you could use Demolish, then all they would need to do is make Demolish do 300k and it will be a good button to press
@@DeadSlugg Because they are not going to just randomly give you a huge extra damage button without balancing it out somewhere else. They are just shifting your damage from sustained into this big burst CD.
Think of it this way, if you 15% of your damage as Mortal Strike right now, then they add this big button in, it will reduce the total % of your damage that comes from Mortal Strike. Then when they balance it against every other class, you will deal less damage from the spells you have now, because they are adding a new one in that will take up alot of real estate in your damage profile.
Think about it the other way, if they removed every spell but Mortal Strike, MS would have to hit REALLY hard to make you do "balanced" dps.
All this spell will do is make MS, OP, and your fillers hit LESS hard relative to your total dps. They will all end up nerfed to accomidate this new spell.

Hey Quazii, I wanted to say that I think your assumption about Earthquaker adding duration to the stun is almost certainly incorrect. This is because it would basically totally invalidate Boneshaker as a viable choice. If you get 1. a knock up instead which obviously doesn't suffer shared DR with the multitude of AoE stuns in the game, 2. a reduced cooldown on Shockwave, AND 3. increased CC duration, even if it's only half a second or one second extra, the benefits would clearly outweigh the extra two seconds of stun provided by Boneshaker. I may be wrong, but I think that would just weight it far too in favor of Earthquaker.
Colossus Warrior should have talent to alowed for use 2h weapon and shield

watching with footage with Quaking/Thundering affixes just reminds me how much fun S4 M+ will be without them
I wonder how the next expansion will change the standard talent tree as well. To me it seems that the prot warrior feasibility is more connected to other tanks enormous arsenal of utility. I do both M+ and raid, but I cant see how top guilds or more relaxed mythic raiding guilds will choose a prot warrior if given a choice. BDK + prot pala just provides so much more to a group. I dont think there will ever be a last boss/second last boss in a mythic raid where blockable physical attacks are the most important aspect. Self heal, collecting adds, providing utility in forms of sac, spellwarding etc. will never be an option for us. Hard to be a prot warrior main some times..
You’re underselling Prot warrior. Rally, AoE fear, spell reflect, AoE silence.
I mean it could definitely use some love, adding Fervid Bite tier set would be amazing as a talent and slim some of the double point investments to single pointers.
Prot warrior is also less susceptible to one shot hits than a BDK and isn’t tied to a consecrate like Prot Paladin.
@@poorwowgameplay While I agree that the class has many positives. You cant argue the fact that almost all high M+ keys are without prot warrior, and very few prot warriors have killed mythic Fyrakk yet. And none of the top teams in either category would ever play one.
@@sigurdhunstad4039 I don’t feel like the highest end of the game is where you look for balance points. Blizzard has been very specific that especially at the highest end they won’t be balancing around them.
Warrior tanks can absolutely do +26 to get title and get down mythic fyrakk, but frankly put you get more bang for your Buck by having those warriors play dps in both contents.
@@poorwowgameplay And thats fair, I wouldnt expect class balance to be tuned around extremely high end optimization done by teams like Echo or Liquid, but it trickles down. Perfect balance is not obtainable, but some of the the utility given by other tanks is just to good to pass up on for many teams. I had to sit out mythic Fyrakk myself because of spellwarding and additional healing. Is it necessary? Of course not. Does it make parts of the fight much easier on the raid? Absolutely. I also feel the raids have been pretty good in this expansion so far, but the dmg intake profile for many fights are just so punishing for warriors. High stacks on forgotten experiments in Aberrus? You cant ignore pain yourself through that :D Of course you can do it, but it always feel like you provide nothing for your team in terms of utility outside of a raid buff (which you prob are getting through a dps warrior anyways), and as such become a liability, and thats not fun.
@@poorwowgameplay and currently there are no prot warriors in Europe that are above title cutoff.

Meanwhile no one invites Warrs to M+ because they don't bring anything to the table compared to other classes. Being one of the best players in the world and forming your own group is the only option. Casual DPS warriors just rerolled for the most part, or quit the game entirely.
Lets hope warrior (prot) does not get wrecked by crappy dev team as in DF, its high time they somehow account for utility vs dmg vs survive so the current mistakes dont repeat, where some specs get everything and others literally nothing. Just bad design really, poor class/spec identity, same issue i feel w dps-heals, wish only one heal spec did dps, the og MW monk, and thats it, just keep unique, rest heal and other utility. Similarly high utility/hybrid tanks cannot bring dmg and survive otherwise we get this situation where 95% of top keys are vdh (bit exaggerated, tho is it? Still pretty sure the statistics speak for themselves about viability and the failure of balancing)
