Man you're awesome we all love yours content...keep moving forward
Thanks for watching!
Your review and instructions was spot on.
I’m sure you could setup a mini online store or signup as a Amazon supplier.
There’s a lot of owners looking for a local supplier I believe.
Thanks for providing us with this video. Looking forward for more LattePanda videos.
Thanks for watching, appreciate the kind words!
THIS IS AMAZING YO
finally a fricking battery pack
Awesome, love to see some links to the previously mentioned teclast batteries for some tablet builds.
Check out the teclast x5 or x6 pro batteries, I think both will work
This is amazing, thank you for sharing this! I got my battery and tested it last night. I got the 4400mah version and the LateOanda was able to idle for about 3 hours. I’m expecting about 45 minutes of runtime under load. I do not have the LCD panel attached.
Like other people, I’d love a 10 pin PanelMate extension cable so I can better position the batter under the board as well as a case. If somebody wants to help with this I would happily pay 🙂
Thank you. I have some parts I’d be happy to sell you for cheap if you wanted to make it. The only problem I had was getting the connector made was very difficult without their expensive dedicated crimper. I don’t fully trust the crimped wires I made so I am not comfortable selling them
@@HandheldHardware yeah, the crimper tool is a blocker 😕
Maybe I’ll be able to find somebody in your discord 🤞
You should try a 5-20v 3a dp power bank would be great 20000mah 😎👌
what kind of life span do you get off this battery with the lta? is that powering a screen also or just the sbc?
Looking forward to a 3D-printable case for the LPA with this battery.
It’s just a tiny too large to work with the 7 in screen! If I made a case it would have ~20 mm bezels on the sides
@@HandheldHardware what about a larger screen, and another battery to power the larger screen?
@@HandheldHardware maybe the battery could be under a keyboard?
@@depressedkitten5291 sure could! If I could figure out a hinge mechanism I wanted to make a laptop for this
Thanks. Do you know is it suitable for the Delta (v1)?
nice, it work god
Great video 👍 do you know if battery status is shown when connecting via DC input or does it only work via the 10 pin connector like you have?
Only works via battery connector, dc input would require you to make a serial connection to the pc to register it
@@HandheldHardware ok thanks
Awesome stuff! For my own DIY project, I'm looking for a lipo battery that will connect through USB C and power a Switch dock. Do you have any recommendations?
You could always use a power bank, but you can’t use and charge at the same time. I couldn’t find a solution like this, but I am motivation to design one with the Texas instrument Bq25792!
@@HandheldHardware Thanks for the response, yeah I'm trying to use the OEM dock to ensure the Switch's M92T36 doesn't get fried, but unfortunately it requires a 15V 2.6A power supply. I've looked everywhere for a Lipo powerbank that's 10,000Mah or less and is capable of outputting enough power, but no dice. I have a 45W PD Li-ion powerbank (slowly) making it's way from China, but still isn't ideal.
I did find a USB-C PD input only charger board called LiPow, that has extensive design documentation available, but all that is past my own skillset. If you do take a shot at designing some sort of battery solution, it would be awesome to see!
Hello, I have an issue with my lattepanda alpha and this battery. It is not reading the battery status properly, it changes to 0% really fast sometimes and when I charge it, it says full battery fast aswell (I think because it is still full but lattepanda thinks no). Sometimes I can use it for 1:30 hours and others just 5 minutes. Do you know how can I fix this? Thank you!
how the battery is charging? thanks
that’s possible charging to JST 4pin DC Power?
Is there a smaller one around? Smaller than the lattepanda alpha itself?
How long did it take take to come?
I clicked on the link and I saw that there were other size variants, would you recommend any larger batteries? Or just stick with this one?
You can get a larger one. That’s a good catch, I ordered the link in the video, I copied that straight from my AliExpress order and it’s now 3900 mAh but I got a 4200 mAh one....
Does anyone know where to source a patch cable for this combo? I would like to mount the battery neatly under the Latte Panda but I need a 100mm - 120mm patch cable and haven't had any luck finding something like that.
You can certainly make your own, or you could extend the connector by splicing in some additional wire. The connector is a molex panelmate 10 pin connector
@@HandheldHardware I was trying to avoid those options in favor of something that required less of my time, but I'll save them as a backup plan. thanks!
@@chriskohlhardt979 sorry, i couldn't find any off the shelf harnesses you could buy, if you do find one let me know!
Great video and awesome find but really the form factor and placement of the cable on the battery is not ideal. Let's see it arranged together in a small enclosure and not laying out on a desk. My experience with the lattepanda had revealed a number of engineering mistakes. I have shared them with them and hope they are taken into account in the next version.
I agree, i have attempted some enclosure and you can make a case with the 7 inch display but there will be slightly large bezels, somewhat unsightly. Have you joined the discord I started? A couple lattepanda employees are there
@@HandheldHardware i read a review saying the alpha gets really hot if used with the fanless aluminium enclosure. is there any danger if i tried something like this that the battery will explode if its stacked back to back witht he other side of the motherboard?
@@doooofus that’s definitely a concern. I’ve had PLA cases warp from the fan heat and PLA warps around 60C. Definitely don’t want the battery getting up there, I think 75C is dangerous territory
Author, please advice how to connect this to delta? Delta needs 12V 2A so we need some booster right?
There isn’t a good solution, maybe use a usb c pd power bank or this TalentCell Rechargeable 12V 6000mAh/5V 12000mAh DC Output Lithium Ion Battery Pack for LED Strip and CCTV Camera, Portable Li-ion Battery Bank with Charger, Black (Multi-led Indicator) www.amazon.com/dp/B00ME3ZH7C/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_FDY2RCKJFAWQTVBX1GP0
how would I go about getting the 10000mah version? I tried looking with no success.
i would like this too, 4200mah just isn't enough
How long did it take to arrive? My order says it might not be around till June...
Yeah it said like 2-3 months but it actually came in like 2-3 weeks
@@HandheldHardware Getting about two hours with this thing to the max...any tips on how to increase battery life besides disabling Wi-Fi and lowering the screen brightness?
does this work on the new lattepanda 3 delta
Good question, I don’t have the new delta but I’m going to get one soon
@@HandheldHardware thank you because i am planning on a project and i dont want to waste my money
It looks like they only have the 7.6V 3900mAh version of the battery. I'm guessing this version will still work? Also would this work with the LattePanda Delta?
Yes 3900 mAh will work, and no sadly the lattepanda delta doesn’t have a battery connector
@@HandheldHardware Is there an alternative for the LattePanda?
An update: I have received the battery and it was marked 4200mAh so I'm not sure if the picture is wrong or what.
@@GearedGeek well that’s good better to get more!
@@GearedGeek was you able to connect this to delta? Was you able to find any alternatives? I think about using somthing typical that provide 5v 2A and PLUS step up booster 12v for delta..
After battery drain how to recharge it ??
Keep the battery plugged in. Plug your PD adapter into the lattepanda alpha and it will charge
How about charging the battery? Through the USB c port?
yes
@@Mo-Tx did you have issues with this? not wotking properly for me, the % of battery is random each time
@@rociochueca1177 I think it gets more accurate over time but idk if something is wrong in yours
Power pul VGA ja
How do I charge it though?
Just plug in your usb c PD into the LPA and it will charge the battery
How can you charge the battery 😃
The lattepanda charges it when you plug it into the USB c Pd adapters
@@HandheldHardware ok thank you
Hi was just wondering again if I will damage the board if the battery is plugged in and the usb c is plugged in at the same time. Thank you so much
@@mjrobotics1823 no damage, just make sure your battery is plugged already, then plugging usb c will charge the battery 😁
Hi is there is any thin case for this battery, screen, and lattepanda thank you
