Agreed. I saw a somewhat recent picture of Don not too long ago and it was clear that Kurt was a blond clone of him. He stopped wearing those black framed glasses he was into wearing all the time for a while because someone told him he looked exactly like his father. And I remember when Courtney finally met Don the first thing she noticed was "how much Kurt looked like him" and that pissed him off, too. Had some major Daddy issues... LoL

According to Isaiah Silva, Wendy O'Connor had suspicions c2016 about Courtney being involved in Kurt's death, & that just after he died in '94, Wendy was questioning C who snapped & said if she didn't drop it, Kurt's sister would be 'next' - but if that were true, why would Wendy then be going to premieres with someone she suspected of her son's murder?!

But your threshold for 'stupidest comment' is way too low; there could be any number of reasons C. was looking 'sad', it's foolish to think you can accurately judge a stranger's emotions from a video, we've no idea what was or wasn't going thru' her head at that moment.
