Fall Of Cherbourg

(3 Jul 1944) The Battle of France has already moved many miles inland. The Allied Air Forces have played a large part in the operation flying 31,000 sorties between the first and sixth of June. As the Americans closed in on the port of Cherbourg they captured several of the flying bomb sites. Allied sea power has also played it's part as warships bombarded Cherbourg.
