I found your channel a few days ago and subscribed. I am a 67 year old white woman and have learned so much from your videos in the last few days. I'm going to work on so many of your suggestions in the coming year. Not to attract a new mate but to feel good about myself. Thank you so much for all your points. I intend to be my best self in the new year!
On the underground train a woman sat opposite me and I couldn’t help being irritated by her severely dirty shoes, completely worn out. A few years ago in summer I saw a woman sitting opposite me with flip flops 🩴 with her toe nails plain and dirty. I was so embarrassed when some guys boarded the train and sat opposite her
Great video, I would add to the wrinkled clothing point that cotton & linen are still elegant despite getting wrinkled easily. Most people who know the material expect a bit of wrinkles upon wearing them. Just iron these types of materials before going out. In warmer months/climates, Linen is super elegant and a bit of wrinkling is expected and that's ok.
In hot climates, cotton and other fabrics that 'breathe' are your best friends. Silk, wool, polyesters and so on tend to smell when you've been out in the sun for a bit.
May I add one in addition to #14? Overwhelming laundry scents &/or perfumes ~ when I can walk in our shop and say, "So & so must have been here" because he/she wears so much fragrance.
Always straightening me out, one look down on my hands and feet and I know I need to do ALOT better. All points noted and will be put into practice. Thanks as always.
I'm a flamboyant natural (kibbe body typing system) so snug clothing does not look elegant on me. Looser fitting clothes look best on my body. I agree that knowing your body when it comes to dressing it is most important and also not worrying about what looks good on another woman.
I would appreciate it so much of you did a video on elegant clothing brands that are somewhat affordable (and hopefully plus size friendly) Like the Teddy Blake Bag you recommend was affordable but still a level up. I love your videos 🤩
Brands are not important what matters most is FIT and FABRIC,,,,it should fit beautifully no pulling no tension the cut flatters your body shape(no two women are the same body even if they are the same size),heavier fabric with excellent quality can be found in any brand but you need to train your fingers to feel the weight how it drapes on you ,,this flimsy fabrics are elegant women worst enemy,,,,,and ladies the linening of a dress or trousers can say allot and improves the dress fitting and comfort ,,,finally Hobbs brand are excellent with fabrics they go up to 18in size (most times they are on the big side),,good luck❤️
20:01 YES its true . Also a fashion studen here and our teachers at f.i.p says to iorn your work and parts for your work to make it presentable , elegant and even expensive looking as a creassed look is tacky . Same goes in our marketing course!
I normally don't comment on videos on this channel but Vivienne you hit it spot on and you got me....the way you keep enlightening the darkness of some minds on your channel is amazing and deserve applause 👏 .What strike me is 'The missing teeth point' and guess what! I am booking an appointment to see my dentist for more info. Thank you sooo much Vivienne for your invaluable help 🙏
Since the pandemic, especially lockdown, I became rather careless about my appearance though I wasn't before. It's the whole mindset that needs to change, so I really appreciate your videos. 💖
Girl, I have 4a/b natural hair and this called me out too. I have to regularly style my hair for it to hold and whilst I look at upgrading my style, I'm also looking at upgrading my income just for this.
I don't really come from a particularly wealthy family, to say the least.. But one thing my mum would never allow me is to buy cheap shoes. Cheap footwear end up costing more in the long run, they ruin your feet and your outfit. Look after your shoes by cleaning them, storing them appropriately when they're off the season and you can wear them for years and years to come. Love your videos and so inspired by you to work on my own channel 💕
Thank you. Your videos have helped me on my level up journey. I also noticed that you embody high moral standards, which, in my opinion, are a part of being elegant. Thank you, dear sister.
Somebody I know has saved MANY marraiges from breaking down just by giving very similar advice. There were other men that would not shower as much / take their appearances seriously at work AND at home- NOW their relationships are flourishing and they havê been promoted.
Unfortunately as I became older, over pronation of my feet resulted in needing serious orthopedics that need tie shoes. Even with this standing and walking are reduced. As a woman with so many pairs of beautiful shoes and dresses that has always cherished my femininity and being well groomed this condition has greatly reduced my wardrobe to what can be worn with black orthopedics looking shoes. Although I feel these other aspects of appearance are on point, it is very humbling to not be able to express my femininity fully. Yes, as Vivian stated people definitely notice my shoes ( I always keep them polished) but I just try to be thankful I can walk.
I hear you, I have so many health issues that have bed-ridden me, and prevent me from being the well dressed, glam woman I once was. I also do the best I possibly can. Pretty nightgowns and robes help. ❤
Vivienne, thanks for another great video. As someone who is trying to be elegant ALWAYS, I have come to appreciate your makeup. Would you please do a tutorial on your nude looks, it's not loud, yet, it leaves you with a very fresh and attractive look. I'd really love to learn that.
Thank you, again! You address so many personal hygiene issues women miss or don't think about. Bad breath and dry lips are other areas I found in some women can you address this. Some women are unaware of this problem. Your videos are priceless.
Thank you for sharing your wisdom, experience and reflections on being an elegant woman. I am learning so much and appreciate your support! God bless you.
You’re cracking me up. 😂 I’m new to wig wearing and am worried about it smelling. 😂 I went out to dinner, and the smell of the restaurant was in my beautiful, human hair wig. I had just washed it and didn’t want to wash it again and ruin the hair. Yes, I’m worried about drying it out and heat damage. I use overnight rollers or leave it straight. I didn’t wear it again for weeks and let it air out. I wanted to put it outside, but was concerned about the sun ruining the color and birds pooping on it. 😅 I’m sorry, but this whole video made me giggle in a good way. I love your content. Thank you!!!!❤❤❤❤
Vivienne, thanks for sharing these excellent points! Suggestion for fellow viewers: instead of eyelash extensions, try an eyelash serum. Extensions need regular maintenance and damage natural lashes. A serum strengthens and enhances natural lashes and looks much better in my opinion. Hugs from Mary in Florida 🌺
What lash serum do you use, I’ve heard that some lash serum cause dark circles around the eyes and when you stop using them your new lash growth falls off
@@oyine1 I use Rodan & Fields lash boost. It’s pricey, but it works! I haven’t had any issues at all and I’ve been using it over a year. You are correct….you do have to keep using it, though.
I highly recommend GrandeLash & GradeBrow. My ends of my brows were seriously thinned out and my lashes were thin and wispy. These products fixed both problems.
Hi Vivienne! Thanks for all your teachings 😍 Please consider starting a podcast. I'm trimming down my screen time but would like to keep listening to you. 😊
I think work can often make us feel exhausted. But I think it's all about the intention and the energy you bring to it. Remind yourself that your work is making a difference in someone's day and that what you is valuable and show up with good intentions. I think that makes a difference 💕

Keep it simple. Don't try to do too much. Wake up, groom yourself and wear comfy classy clothes that are elegant but still make breastfeeding a breeze. Once baby is sleeping, take care of yourself. Put on gloss or lipstick if that's your vibe even if you won't wear makeup. Focus on your skincare during this time. Brush your hair, lol, and style it in a simple ponytail or other easy style
Great points indeed also two additional points if I may , wear clothes that define you there's nothing like one size fits all that a sales talk .....two wear a bra that fits you not one that pronounces your love handles in Capital letters ,. a bra that grants you that confidence as you stand, sit or walk.

For the wig, you never really know if that person is wearing it because they're going through chemo & if that's the case, they have an entirely different set of priorities. I think the tips can be applied no matter where you live. I live in Ghana and still able to follow the basic steps. It's less about the shops and more about buying what is classy and fits your body type.

Love and enjoyed this video. I am a senior, much shorter than I used to be because of osteoporosis, have an apple shape and other health issues. Most of the stores where I shopped for plus size clothing have closed. Shopping online is very difficult. I have to order so many clothes online, and have to return most of them. I remember shopping in stores, trying on 10 outfits and maybe bought one that I thought flattered my figure. My nails grow broken over the nail bed. I get acrylics every 3 or 4 weeks. Tried every vitamin that works for others , but not for me. Hair is naturally curly and sparse. Do you have any recommendations for me?

Most of the stores where I shopped for plus size clothing have closed. Shopping online is very difficult. I have to order so many clothes online, and have to return most of them. I remember shopping in stores, trying on 10 outfits and maybe bought one that I thought flattered my figure. My nails grow broken over the nail bed. I get acrylics every 3 or 4 weeks. Tried every vitamin that works for others , but not for me. Hair is naturally curly and sparse. Do you have any recommendations for me?
