      You're awesome. We should have called our roof deck the Ryan Morrissey.

    Beautiful van build. You guys did a wonderful job 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾. I plan on getting the same van and doing the build myself. Do you guys have a detailed layout of your electrical system? That will be my only concern. Thanks.

      We bought a package from @Explorist.Life for our electrical system. Detailed layout, cables, components, and so much more. The electrical system was by far the scariest thing for us!

    Great job! I love to see your videos. I like your van built ideas and designs . If you don't mind, roughly what is the estimate cost for your build?

    Awesome video guys! I will start my build next month and had a question about the a/c unit you have. How long can you run it with the 570ah battery bank? I will be a full timer in Texas.

    • @katieandjoeonthego
      @katieandjoeonthego  Місяць тому

      Blasting our A/C all night (8 hours) at 67* takes about 20% of our battery power.

    Do your 200w solar panels fully your 570a/hr batteries adequately?
    Great build and van BTW guys!
    Well done

      If they were the only source of power, it would take forever to fully charge the system with absolutely no power draw. Think Arizona in the middle of summer.
      We did notice when we were in Alaska how important the solar was to keep us topped-off. It gave us usually enough power to maintain our level with normal electric needs. The moment the solar is not working, and we don't have long days driving. Our battery system gets up 5-7 days.

      Deck is nice but I'd rather have more solar. At least 500w.

    • @katieandjoeonthego
      @katieandjoeonthego  10 місяців тому

      @@nelsonsoaresusa We go back and forth with wanting more solar panels but for most of our summer trip (Alaska) solar was completely useless as the cloud cover was pretty strong, so it really would not have been helpful at all.

    Hi Katie and Joe, my 2023 van is coming in next month and I found out the dealer ordered me the 148 extended by accident (I ordered the 148” non extended). How has your van been for parking and getting around parking lots etc. with the extra length?

    • @katieandjoeonthego
      @katieandjoeonthego  10 місяців тому +1

      The EXT is long but definitely not as long as the Sprinter 170 EXT. You will not be able to use a single parking spot with the EXT, we have to pull thru and use two spots. Both drive fairly similar, it's only parking where things get tricky!

    Where's the shower build-out video? Do you still like the Laveo?

    • @katieandjoeonthego
      @katieandjoeonthego  3 місяці тому

      We got so tired of building that we had to stop filming when we got to the shower portion. Wanted to get it done, so not really any good footage but throw question our way and we will answer them!
      As for the Laveo, it’s the best investment for the van. We love it, we tell everyone to buy it. So great

      @@katieandjoeonthego I can imagine.What is the width of the cabinet between the bed and the shower? And does it sit right in front of the left wheel well?

    Where does your shower drain to?

  • @ZillaYT
    @ZillaYT 9 місяців тому

    Having an exposed bath, with the toilet, is NOT esthetically pleasing to me. Otherwise a really good build.
