I walked up the 1,500 ft to get to Angels landing. My knees were so swollen at the rest area before the chain. I didn't dare attempt it. When I got home I found out I had torn two meniscus and one knee and one meniscus in the other. I'm telling you it's a hell of a high basically straight up. I was 35 at the time. Not for the faint of heart

Nice video. Especially the last part of what you really needed and what you really needed to hit the road. I travel and sleep in the back of my 4 door wrangler with my big dogs and built a simple build out where a drawer and a stove slides out from under the sleeping platform and thought about moving over to a van to have standing room but don’t want to give up the off roading capability.

I'd say so seeing as how the AllTrails app no longer supports a map view on the Apple Watch. And this happened with the last update that came out right around when iOS 18 dropped. I'm sure Apple is going to make it harder for 3rd party apps to be able have their apps access health metrics and maps.

I'm planning to make a build out of the same model Transit and I was racking my brain trying to figure out the water system along with working space for two people and a full shower. Seeing your build really gave me some inspiration and the tools to solve the problems I've been facing when trying to work through things in my head. One pro of van life, or RV life in general, is by having a fridge and kitchen with you at all times, you can eat out of a grocery store 100% of the time if you want to. At the very least, this will probably be healthier than the ol' car and hotel lifestyle and it will surely be much, much cheaper for most.

Other than the weight of a motorcycle on the back, was there another reason why you went with the dually Transit? I would personally be very interested in the longer Transit as a platform for a build, but would not want to sacrifice the gas mileage loss that a dually entails without really needing to do so. Re: Europe, I don't see why your van would be a problem. Almost everywhere I have been in Europe, Ducato and Sprinter-based semi-integrated and fully integrated motorhomes (what we would call small Class Cs and B+ and small class As) are all over the place and most are longer and probably at least as tall as your van. 699cm is a very common length, and that is a foot longer than your van without the motorcycle on the back.
