  • In this video I build a basic bushcraft structure. Camp overnight, solo. Cook a burger and fries over the fire. Enjoy some beers and also some bourbon from my banana flask. Wake up to some very peaceful morning rain. Then get the heck out of there.

      @@CampingwithSamBananas yes man that's so true! I've done like weeks to a month long camping and bushcraft (expeditions) in the deep jungle forest of the Philippines. And I'm telling you man it's really hard and scary, but it's also full of fun. There's no shortcut doing stuff in the forest. But it brings out the best in you and healing to your innermost being. Hope to see more of your adventures soon, Happy New Year!!!

      Dude it was super fun, I really enjoyed this one. To answer your questions:
      1) it’s a Mardingtop 65 liter. There is a link in my description. It’s a hell of a pack and it’s under $100 last I checked.
      2) Some of this video was shot with a Panasonic LUMIX FZ300. But that particular shot (along with others) was shot on an iPhone 13 pro.

    I’d like to do solo camping my self but I’m afraid of the woods at night lol. Any tips on how to get over that fear?

    • @CampingwithSamBananas
      @CampingwithSamBananas  2 роки тому +11

      Oh god such a good question!! I was terrified the first 5-6 times I did it. I got really drunk, which is a TERRIBLE idea for a solo camper. The more you do it, the more you will gain confidence, but I have some specific tips for beginners.
      1) Don’t go far from the car. Try to keep your hike only 5-10 minutes walk from the car when you first start. That way you can hike out if it comes to it.
      2) Headlamp. It completely changes the game to have ample light. Maybe get an LED lantern too. Take at least one extra set of batteries.
      3) download movies, tv shows, audiobooks on your phone. It’s completely inevitable that you will get bored camping by yourself. You’ll be surprised how much this improves your trip. Maybe a small BT speaker and music if you like.
      4) Definitely take a small battery charger and cord for your phone. The phone is your number 1 survival tool.
      Hope this helps!!

      Go to a campground to get used to being in tent and hearing night noises, or car/truck camp to get use to the sounds you'll must likely hear and to get used to sleeping somewhere besides your bed or find someone to go with who has experience and can tell you what the sounds are
